I'm sure it will come. This initial string of dates is just a huge warm up for his new band, playing in a bunch of random places (like Visalia) multiple times. He's playing here in Visalia 3 times over the next 3 months. Once they (he) feels good about the performances I'm sure they'll really hit the road.

quick review of last night:
the show was absolutely amazing! I was completely blown away and my expectations were more than exceded. I've always really liked The Black Crowes, and saw them as recently as last summer. I enjoyed last nights performance far more than any Crowes show I've seen (no lie). The band was super tight and I really enjoyed the sound. Of course tons of that patented Chris Robinson soul, combined with heavy doses of funkiness, extended jams and borderline psychadaelic rock. At times it really had that awesome early/mid 70's Grateful Dead sound going. If you have chance to see his new band jump on it. I went with moderate expectations....it's a new band, last night was only the 3rd gig they've done, but they played as if they'd been together for years and years. I absolutely loved it.
I don't know every Black Crowes tune, but they didn't play any Crowes songs I recognized. Some stuff off Chris' other solo recordings, a ton of new songs, and quite a few covers. Off the top of my head...
-They Love Each Other (Grateful Dead)
-Blue Suede Shoes (Elvis)
-Tough Mama (Dylan)
and I think they did a Steely Dan song. Not positive about this because I don't know a ton of Steely Dan tunes, but I'm pretty certain they did. Also another cover that I have forgotten too.
Geez stuck in CA much?
