Aaaahhh... so again I did a CSNY search, and... though unfortunately could not locate an official thread, managed to uncover this amazing indescribable footage posted back in '08
CSN&Y-Down By The River (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5A_xnH5B9w#ws)
And one of my favorite songs..... one of my favorite versions.... the intro banter is awe some (ending banter also pretty classic)
Crosby Nash BBC - Lee Shore (4 of 5) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdNO9Qa5rzI#)
And two sweet versions of Guinnevere....
Crosby Nash BBC - Guinnevere (2 of 5) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPvOTVVbMko#)
Guinnevere - Crosby, Stills & Nash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsmC1zrpwfQ#)
Just really aching for a place to hang out when in CSNY mode... or CN mode.. or SY mode... or Y mode..... any variations are game!
I hear ya Woody. CSNY and all the variations never grow old.
CSN album with Cathedral is one of my all time favorites of the late 70's.
The early CSN (csny) stuff are magical and need no introduction.
Crosby-Nash combo's are wonderful. The two of them live continue to special.
GN's solo effort Songs For Beginners and DC's If I Could Only Remember My Name are really special albums too.
Can't even begin to mention NY as he is so special as to warrant his own thread.

My mom just saw Crosby & Nash in Pitt a few weeks ago, and she managed to call me throughout the show, and it sounded like they did a stunning Cathedral!!
I do need to hear more Crosby solo and Nash solo, thanks for the recommends! And Neil.... oh Neil..... :)
Wow. That Down By The River version is priceless. Too bad in those days they tended to focus on faces during guitar solos, and odd angles. I would love to see that performance recorded with today's technique, which means more documentation of performance than trying to make an arty film.

YOU DON'T KNOW, SHE MIGHT BE THE
LAW YEAH** (Hhahahahah I knew that....) Solid album, love how the entire Grateful Dead minus Bobby is featured on it (nothing against Bobby, just glad to hear everyone else jam out with David!!), and two musicians from Santana, f'n JONI MITCHELL!!!!!! And Grace Slick and Paul Kantner.......... f'n a.
The new release of Crosby-Nash Another Stormy Evening ( from a famous 1971 live show) is a pretty awesome album (great sound quality too) and a great capture of live csn, csny, crosby solo and nash solo stuff. Highly recommended (especially on vinyl -no surprise).

I was recommended this album by some guy we were partying with before a CSNY show at Star Lake. We were hanging out with these older heads who had wine and even brought they're fancy wine glasses tailgating, great times! Bought the re-release of this shortly after on CD and bought it on vinyl earlier this year at Jerry's (sounds way better on vinyl).

Holy crap man, I was just at Jerry's my last visit back home, like 2 weeks ago!
And I saw it!!! Shoulda grabbed it on vinyl too..... but I opted for "4 Way Street" (still a good pick, but I'll be sure to be picking up vinyl IICORMN soon! (there's an acronym for ya!)
Sounds like you partied with some of the best at Starlake that night!!! Wish I'da made it to that show!! D'you have any of the Perro Sessions?? Friggin awesome... you can hear everyone talking, and Garcia plays a couple versions of "Loser." Hilarious banter..... let me know if you'd like them, I don't know if they're official releases or anything; I could send 'em your way! 4 discs it is!! (**which I can condense to one or two data discs)
***The Perro Sessions were recorded in 1971 during the making of If I Could Only Remember My Name.... there's like 8 versions of Mountain Song--that song blows me away... you can hear Grace Slick in the background throwing in just a few soft but powerful vocals.... and to hear Jerry's guitar and vocals along with Crosby.... I mean it's like stepping into this deluxe time machine or something........ and being in the mountains down here it just hits extra hard... ("Gonna make the mountains be my hoooome......")
Let me know if ya'd like a copy!

Look around again
It's the same old circle
You see, it's got to be
It says right here on page 43
That you should grab a hold of it
Else you'll find
It's passed you by...
Rainbows all around
Can you find the silver and gold?
It'll make you old
The river can be hot or cold
And you should dive right into It
Else you'll find
It's passed you by...
Pass it 'round one more time
I think I'll have a swallow, of wine
Mmmm Life is fine
Even with the ups and downs
And you should have a sip of it
Else you'll find
It's passed you by...

CSN ON TOUR 2013!!!!!! I promised myself I would see them as often as I can afford, if they were to tour this year. So now my question issss.... any folks living in FL or AL who might like to go along, who could, by any chance, put up this crazy bird (and maybe, tho not as likely, a guy friend who would only be coming along if he could make it down from NY)??? If I'm still living in Asheville, I'll be making the 6 or so hour (not so bad at all) trek down to FL and catching as many shows as I can afford (which might only be, like, 2, depending on price hahahah won't know til presale in 4-5 days) There's a ton up in the air, but thought I'd plant the thought-seeds now and see what everyone's up to!!
Yeah CSN still goin strong!!! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Wow!! 8 shows in FLA in one month. Has MMJ even played 8 shows ever in FLA? Seems like they avoid one of the most populous states in the country.
Maybe the reason they are playing so many Florida shows is that a lot of their original fans are living there now. (This is the only reason why I can figure they are doing that)
Glorious, wonderful...... Oh I should explain what it is, the title does nothing to explain that it's "ANOTHER FOUR-WAY STREET" I would probably give my life for the video footage of this!!!!! But the audio will be rocking me forever, now. :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

I notice it's a pinch out of order (though that doesn't detract from the greatness, in my over-obsessive fan book) It was just about to be Crosby solo and went right into the Neil medley. Whatev!
I.... it......

Yesterday, I purchased the 4 disc CSNY 1974 box set (3 CD's and 1 DVD). So far, I've listened to the first two CD's a couple of times and like them a lot. It cost me about $49 at Barnes and Noble (after the 15% discount and taxes). Best Buy has finally lost all my respect. They didn't have it or the single disc sampler either! I guess "physical" copies of entertainment are slowly disappearing.

I saw them at Rich Stadium east of Buffalo on Aug. 11 that year with Santana and Jesse Collin Young opening. Quite the experience. There's still a couple of cells rattling around in my brain that remember it. Here's the setlist:
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/crosby-stills-nash-and-young/1974/rich-stadium-orchard-park-ny-3bdf8c40.html (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/crosby-stills-nash-and-young/1974/rich-stadium-orchard-park-ny-3bdf8c40.html)
And a month before, on July 6, Eric Clapton and the Band headlined at the same venue. Of course I was there too. What a summer!
This boxset is quite a treat. I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray version a few months ago for $9 on amazon.ca -- and by some divine miracle from the music gods, Amazon fulfilled the order! Best $10 I've ever spent! The sound is fantastic and the tracklist is really something. The whole set is justified for this version of "Don't Be Denied" alone. Neil was just on another level in this era. That's not knocking any of the other guys, because "Almost Cut My Hair" is one of my favorite tracks on the set -- just smokin'! Stephen Stills, love the guy, but "Love The One You're With" caused me to actually laugh out loud while listening to it. Stills sounds fucking hilarious. How did he even give that song the green light to be released? Instrumentally it's as cookin' as anything but what the FUCK is he even singing? I'll listen to that tune again and again for comic value alone.
The "Black Queen" on this release is really great too!
