Does anyone here have Apple TV and going to try and watch tonight's broadcast through the Vevo mobile app? It's gets a little tech-y, so stay with me if you're interested...
I have an iPhone 4 with the Vevo app. I can watch all the Unstaged promos and videos on the phone with no problem. When I'm in my house, I can throw the video from my phone to Apple TV and it streams on the television. In theory it should work, but I know sometimes there are restrictions about what can and can't be streamed. It didn't work for the Arcade Fire video, but wondering if this might be different since Vevo is involved. Has anyone here tested it yet and can throw Vevo footage to their Apple TV?
My other thought is to go to You Tube straight from the Apple TV app and watch it there. Again, not sure if it will play, but that's my other option.
Option #3 consists of the ol' fashion way - hooking up my laptop to the PC input of my TV and watching it from there. Ahhh technology....
How are you able to send video from the Vevo app to your Apple TV? I'm not seeing the AirPlay button at all.
This is what I plan to do tonight, except using an ipad instead of iphone. I downloaded and installed vevo HD app (free) and gave it a test run yesterday - was able to throw all the video to apple TV easily. Watched the letterman stuff again and that got me pumped. For me, the airplay button was in the same section as where the play, pause, FF, etc buttons are, to the right.
Sweet ass! I got the HDMI adapter for the iPad just incase shit went South.
Glad this thread was started!
I'm using an iPod Touch and have the pause/rew/ff functions in my lower left, but no AirPlay. I'll keep playing with it, but am open to suggestions.
Is your iPod updated?

Is your iPod updated?
Yup. Just double checked for updates, too.
Is this in the VEVO app?
WOW, whoever was asking in the other thread needs to see this if they haven't. I would've never thought of this, but this is why Apple TV is the shit...
Sorry, I'm not sure, man. Google it up.
No problem, man...appreciate the effort. I can throw other videos fine, but no go with Vevo for some reason.
I just downloaded the app on my phone and I don't see that as an option either... :(

Right? Timmyhead needs to get back on here and share his knowledge!
You could always get the HDMI adapter - if you have HD.
Hit the Apple store and I bet they can sort you out.

You probably won't see anything unless you're at home and on your network. I'm at work right now and the airplay button looks like an arrow, but you won't see that unless you're with your Apple TV.

This is where I'm running into trouble. I can't throw Vevo content from my iPhone to the TV - I get "cannot play video on Apple TV". I know you're using an iPad and it seems to work. Can anyone with an iPhone confirm they can throw from phone to TV??
I am a technology-tard. Do I need this apple tv thing to stream from my iPhone 4 to a tv? I'm clueless. I'm in a hotel tonight, but it has a brand new flat screen tv with a meelion connection options.
Just a little more info that I hadn't seen before - http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/unstaged/faq.html (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/unstaged/faq.html)
"For the first time in American Express "Unstaged" history, you will be able to live-stream the My Morning Jacket event through your mobile device. Using the VEVO or YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android you can stream through the mobile device of your choice."
What remains to be seen is if we can throw the content to Apple TV. Fingers crossed for a big screen viewing experience...
I just threw the preview videos to the AppleTV using the VEVO app. It worked okay. Disconnected twice during the 2.5 minute trailer. Hopefully tonight the stream won't suck a butt.

iPhone or iPad??
iPad
Can't throw any Vevo videos, so it's looking like that's a lost cause. I have the DisplayPort to HDMI cable, so I can get it on my tv from my MacBook. Was just hoping to deal with less wires, but so it goes.
Based on the replies, it sounds like you can throw Vevo content from iPad to Apple TV, but there are issues with doing it from the iPhone. Has anyone had luck with iPhone?
I'm going to give it a try using the You Tube app, but I've got a feeling it won't work. Oh well, I'll be watching it one way or another tonight. Looking forward to it!!
iphone worked fine for me.

Viewing it on your iPhone or streaming on Apple TV from your iPhone?
airplay from the iphone
I went out and bought the HDMI adaptor for ipad/iphone4 and only got audio through my iphone. But youtube worked fine. Although if you search through the youtube app you can't find any vevo related material :(

You guys getting anything with the VEVO app? It's just the previous YouTube vids for me at the moment.
yeah, I got the Vevo. Had it since they posted the national show.
But only audio...
Is coo, I gots da laptop and im good
Yep, streaming from iPhone is working fine with the Vevo app. A little pixelated, but I'm not complaining. Watching MMJ live on my TV is a very good thing.
