I haven't seen the magical video eye show up at any shows yet, referring to the one at Unstaged. I thought it gave the shows an extra visual boost. Thought it would make an appearance in Chicago, but doesnt look like it from the photos.
Here is a shot I took at Unstaged!

I think there was a contract dispute and the eye's agent is in negotiations for it to return to the tour. You don't want to see that thing get pissed!
all of a sudden the eye wants to blink throughout the show and mmj wont let it...
here come the unions.
The Eye was in Chicago - but looks a little different than the Louisville Eye... Chicago Eye looks more "projected" rather than physical.

That was my take on the projection. They seem to be using the projection for most of the shows, but didn't even use one for the Minneapolis show. They Unstaged eye was changing colors and patterns throughout the show. Cool effects, but looks like it would be a pain to haul around. May be afraid they'll turn into U2 with too many gimmicks!
May be copyright issues, there are some similarities. I thought it reminded me of something from my childhood.

;D
the band's manager outside the palace said the eye weighed a ton or two tons i can't remember, but way, WAY to big to haul from show to show
The 'Unstaged' eye is on it's way to Cleveland to be inserted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. ;D ;D

absolutely fantastic. it is probably the best stage set up ive seen behind radioheads tour 3 or 4 summers ago and that was just massive; spread across a stage 3 or 4 times as big as the palace's.
it was always there, in your sight, but it never drew your attention. then you focus on it and sometimes the lights were mellow and others, well, they were far from mellow. i dont know if you could tell through the computer, but it has a physical depth to it, its not flat. it shows somewhat 3 dimensional images at times or at least at an angle that is different from the way your eye would normally perceive. i loved how the central eye had a kind of a marvin the martian feel to it as well.
i think i will call him marvin.
from june 3rd, my review of the stage.
so this has not made an appearance since the palace? i thought for sure this would be the stage set up for this tour. im a little disappointed its not. i cannot imagine they went through all of that trouble for just one show.
so what have they been using as the background of the stage?

Apparently the mordor eye and the circuital eye are "seeing" each other, making the circuital eye just too dang busy to make an apparence on the mmj tour... ;D
