One of my very favorite cities gets to see my favorite band. Wish I did not live 3000 miles away!
Are any of you NYC maniacs considering driving from Philly to this show and back to NYC?!

I'm coming from Jersey, and if it was a weekend I'd do it. Just can't swing it mid week.

Man this sucks. I'll be the coxswain in the boat with you guys. I only live 2.5 hours from Charlottesville and my folks live there but I just can't afford to take the Wednesday off of work and I'd have to take the entire day too. Why couldn't this have been on a weekend as with Pittsburgh and Philly. :-\
I want to go to this show since I was planning on going to VA that weekend anyway- now I will just leave a few days earlier.
But will be NYC show be added in the days after this? I can't really see the band going back and forth like that.
Will this show be the last before Austin City Limits?
when is a Charlottesville show on this tour?

thanks! is that only been announced on Roll Call? I don't see it on the site and not heard about it yet
these Pavilion is pretty cool too. I saw the Black Keys there last fall. It's all GA if i remember correctly, but when the Keys played, they were over by 10ish and i am not sure if that has to do with the location as its at the end of a very cool outdoor mall.

just bought my ticket and I will be bringing two MMJ virgins with me from Va Beach!
Tour closer- so maybe a little longer of a set?

i also heard from the C-Ville Pavilion that there is not going to be an opener...
I saw a Toad the Wet Sprocket/Big Head Todd show there a few years ago. What a wonderful venue. What was really cool was you can just wander around, even backstage to some point. Have a pint at Starr Hill and enjoy the show!

I noticed that Neko Case was not listed for that show. That bummed me out because a friend of mine that I am going with loves Neko and The New Pornographers.
But I would be happy if the MMJ set was extended because of her absence.

anyone out there going to this show? I am going with a couple of MMJ virgins and I am hoping for a good turnout from the MMJ faithful. I'm hoping that I won't be surrounded by the boat shoes and oxford crowd.

My wife and I would are really trying to go to this show next week. But wow, the roll call to this is low.
Wow, is anyone going to this?
It's looking likely that I'll be rolling down there from DC. Will leave after work and probably head straight to the venue. Any idea on what the start time will be for this? As long as it's 8 or later I shouldn't have a problem, but that 10 PM end for Black Keys someone mentioned earlier has me a bit nervous they'll come on earlier than that, if that's what the venue's curfew is.

i think start time is 7pm and it's the Sons of Bill as someone said earlier in this thread. I was there for the Keys and it did end early, but I was told by someone running the FB page for the Pavilion and they said 11pm curfew. I imagine it will be similar to MPP; opener off around 8, MMJ on around 8:30.
I am coming for Va Beach with 3-4 other people. Turnout seems low since its A) a weekday B) was announced late and everyone in this general vicinity had made plans for MPP or even Charlotte.

MMJ has been my favorite for years but I've never been able to see them in concert. I'm seeing them in Charlottesville next week....I...Cannot.....Wait.
no boat shoes here
just noticed this is the last show of the US Tour (outside of ACL which is a month later)...not that they don't bring the heat every night, but maybe we are in for something extra special. their last show here had one helluva setlist.

That's what I'm hoping for! Plus the venue is nice and small so this will be a special show.
Ah, we can't go to this one. I just can get the time off from work. Have a good time everyone who can make it.
Leaving after work and coming home after. Should be interesting haha.

that's our plan too...leaving VB around 3pm and coming back right after show (about a 2.5 hour drive). Work at 8am the next day. The things we do for the bands we love...
Will this show be empty? lol
I'll be there! Leaving work early and driving down from DC with a friend. Can't wait, after the Merriweather show I couldn't bear the thought of not seeing them again on this tour. Sounds like it's not going to be the biggest show there is but will be another great time, without a doubt.
This show better not be cancelled because of the earthquake!!!!!
tonight tonight tonight whoaaaaa!
I will be there tonight with the Mrs + 2 friends. Still freaking out from last night's show! See you on the rail!
Great Show last night. Once I get my head back together...will talk more.
Weather will be perfect here tonight, tix still available and no damage from the quake, though, to quote the B-52s, the whole shack shimmied here yesterday. Fun venue and sound is usually top notch. Damn it's gonna be great. Too bad no Neko, but hey, we got a solo show not two weeks ago, so no complaints.
I think I'm buying my ticket when I get there to avoid the prcoessing fees and all that garbage. I'm assuming there will be some available.
Here's to hoping this doesn't turn into a UVA Frat Party....
i saw shows in Lexington (UK) and Tuscaloosa (UA) this year..... it will

Great. I've met a bunch of cool UVA kids but a majority are entitled jerks that drink, fight, and scream too much. Or maybe I'm biased because I live near VT
or maybe I'm not alone (from a previous thread)
"the only bad thing i can say about it was...leave it to Charlottesville to turn a MMJ show into a frat party. Sorostitute central."
I'm still going to rock my face off to MMJ for the second time in 2 weeks

you know it! we can just insulate ourselves from that crowd by being surrounded by real MMJ fans. I'll be in a black trucker hat that says "Alt Energy Vehicles" with a crew of 3 MMJ fans that have never seen them before live. don't be afraid to say hello.

Will do.
Per the website, for anyone that doesn't know, there is no on-site parking. So park at the Water Street Parking Garage it's about 0.4 miles from the venue. Here's the address: It's $2 per hour.
248 2nd St SE
Charlottesville, VA 22902
Phone: (434) 977-1812
Theres plenty of on-street parking around the venue, near the downtown mall. Im leaving Richmond around 6/6:30. Hoping to score an extra out front for cheap as Phish tour has drained me massively this summer. If not pretty sure you can stand on the overpass out behind the stage and see and hear relatively expertly.
I dont need to see the boys, I just wanna hear them...but if you wanna kick me down a miracle, well, then, by all means Id LOVE to SEE them!
