Title: Favorite "Circuital" live moments ever
Post by: MrB on Aug 24, 2011, 08:58 PM
Not to copy e-wind,  but I wanted to create a blog post of the best, most epic, unique, weird or just had to be there versions of the 10 songs off circuital during this tour.

A few that stand out to me are:

Victory Dance, intro with Horns (Bonnaroo I think)
Circuital at Indy, Jim's guitar was out of tune and had to send it back to the tech
Wonderful at Chicago with the Golden Rainbow
Black Metal at Unstaged w/ The Black Metal Girls backing the band

That's a few that come to mind, anyone else? and if you know of a link, please post it too!

The acapella Wonderful in Detroit sticks out in my mind -- everyone stompin' and singin' along with Jim, truly a magical moment.

Movin' Away in Tuscaloosa. The piano plodding beautifully descended out of the outer reaches of TM pt.II and then just pummeled me in the gut given the reality and setting of the situation. It was an incredible juxtaposition of MMJ's duality of country space rock/heaven folk too  :) I loved watching Jim sing this tune on this tour btw...

The song was very emotional that night, but in a great way! The recording is atmospheric too:

so many others to mention, but I'll refrain since this one is kind of unique.

The first show of the Circuital tour - Unstaged - was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Only to be topped by Red Rocks.

The last minute or so of Victory Dance. Every single night.

Carl's sax-dancing on First Light.

That was absolutely incredible.  Jim swinging his mic cord at his guitar tech as a way of saying "dude, get out of here, i'm doing something awesome right now"  will probably be the best thing I'll ever see live.

Thanks for the heads up, it was hauntingly "beautiful'. Cool stuff.

HOTBM girls at the palace.  i am friends or friendly with quite a few of them and it was just awesome to see/hear them up there.
