What did you expect?  AZ is still paying for its sins.  And even if they did play in PHX, it'd still probably have to be at the shit-ass Marque Theater.  So its probably for the best they don't play PHX at all.  Now a summer show at the Pine Mountain amphitheater in Flagstaff with all the hippies and liberals would be great and maybe MMJ could feel OK about that?  Its too cold up there in Dec, though.  Still, the Orpheum in Flagstaff would've worked.  Its the price we pay for living in this ass-backwards state.

It really is a shame.

But I'm guessing if they did play Phoenix it would be The Mesa Amp, Comerica, or maybe the Orpheum.  They are too big for The Marque, Flags Orpheum, or the Rialto.

I was in PHX on a biz trip a few years back and saw flight of the conchords at the dodge theatre downtown by the ball park and basketball arena. Wasn't the best place but probably the right size for MMJ.

Ya the Dodge is now know as the Comerica which I mentioned above.  It doesn't have much personality but for a 5000 capacity newer theater it isn't bad

Not to pile on Phoenix (my place of residence), but I don't mind traveling to see shows because Phoenix crowds and venues definitely suck.  I agree that the most logical place for MMJ to play at this point, Comerica lacks a soul and I've neve been impressed with it acoustically (maybe someone should renovate the celebrity theatre).   I'd rather go to a place with great energy where the bands feel loved and in turn give love back.  During the Evil Urges tour, the Rialto Theatre show in Tucson blew away the Tempe Marquee Theatre show from the night before- better crowd and better venue.  I do hope MMJ can find a venue within a few hours drive from PHO  though, because I've been racking up some serious MMJ miles on my car traveling to the west coast (and I'm making the trip to LA in Dec for another!!).

im sorry, and im not trying to sound like a dick but suck it up. MMJ hasnt played Buffalo since 2005, and not a headlining show since 2003. heres to hoping on a future tour that both arizona and buffalo, can get a show!
