So, I've got a ticket, and I'm planning on driving up from south florida the day of the show. Anyone else gonna be at this show?
Oh yeah.... The wife and I are flying into Orlando from Knoxville .... We are doing Boca and Orlando. Have you seen a show at this hard rock? I've never been, but we bought the sound check bundle.
I've seen OutKast, A Perfect Circle and G. Love there. It was many forevers ago and I don't remember much about the venue. The only thing that sticks out is G. Love reading a statement that was passed to him from management telling him he needed to wrap it up so they could get everyone out and then recharge admission for their night club. Hopefully they do things differently now.
I saw a show there once. It was probably 8-9 years ago. I don't remember much about the venue. I didn't buy the soundcheck bundle, since I got it for the Boca show.
I ended up getting a GA Floor ticket.
I have seen incubus and 311 there and I am driving up there this Friday w/ my wife to see the Arctic Monkeys(so excited to see them, firsties). I think it's a great venue. The sound from both bands was good and you can hit Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville 1st to get a little tequila action before the show. Really wish I could do both shows but its Boca or bust for me. I will holla back after the show to give any new details about it.
Amazing show @ the hard rock orlando this past Friday. Saw the awesomeness that is The Arctic Monkeys...amazing show. I was in the balcony area, place really has not changed since the last time I was there. The only thing that jogged my memory was on how the ushers were really into there jobs. For example me and my wife had row c seats 2 & 3, well nobody had seat 1 so I told my wife to slide down, well she was told to move twice so if your up there dont think about moving around or the hard rock usher crew will get ya!
if i flew down is there a forum-member that has a couch i could crash on? will be worth your weight in booze and thank yous!
My Wife, brother, and I will be driving over from Tampa.
Made the drive up to Atlanta (Alpharetta) over the summer and I'm stoked to have them closer to home.
Steam Engine...IB4U...IWSYS...At Dawn  8) :D

I bumped into him, asked about the up coming your, and he said he was doing Orlando. That's all I know.
I'll be there! Stoked for Delta Spirit and my second Jacket gig in 6 months. I hear they're mixing up the set lists a little better than the summer shows too. GOnna be sweeet!

whoa...man...that is a great set...hoping for something good this Weds!
The show was GREAT. I lost my shit when they started into Xmas Curtain and then O is the One put me over the top. The energy prior to the encore was unbelievable and the little changes and additions to steam, golden, and off the record are great. Pretty surprised in a way how people really really got into smokin from shootin as much as they did. Bermuda highway in the encore really topped it off. Great show, great crowd that was really into it, and just great time overall for my girlfriend and I. Sometimes I feel like Florida gets a bit overlooked when people play shows but the Jacket really brought it last night.
This was my fifth show and by far the best one I've seen.
Fantastic show. This and Saturday's Boca shows were the first two I've seen and I was blown away by how phenomenal these guys are live. Incredible how many of their songs that are merely good/great become epic when done live. I will say I was a bit bummed that they didn't play Dondante, Run Thru, or Honest Man either night (particularly Dondante), but I can't complain. Getting O last night was a real treat and as mentioned, going from that to Steam Engine was special.

Oh my gosh that is an amazing setlist.....would love love love to hear O - and into Steam Engine? I'd be a puddle on the floor. And Bermuda Highway, so sweet :o :o :o
Those of you that were at this show: you were so lucky to get such an unbelievably great setlist! Now I wish I had gone down to Florida for these two shows. Oh well, there's always next time ::) I love the setlists they've been playing since December started. These are so much better than just playing mostly from one album.
I think we got lucky in Florida that the boys have a big MSG show coming up and they dug deeper into the catalog to prepare for that. Still on Cloud 9 from last night even though I had to drive back to Tampa afterwards and got about 4 hours of sleep.
O into Steam and Bermuda Highway? LUCKY BASTARDS!!!!!!!

Too funny! During the encore I told my brother that we were getting some good ones so they could prepare for NY. AND...we also had to drive back to Tampa AND I also got 4 hours of sleep! 8)
We hit The Taco Bus (beef tongue tacos!) before calling it a night as we couldn't go to sleep on a stomach full of vodka (the Hard Rock bartenders gave some sweet pours)!
Really liked the venue. We stood right above the soundboard on the rail so we had nobody in front of us and were about 3 feet over the crowds head. Perfect spot. The sound blew away how they sounded in Alpharetta, Ga this summer. The Band & The Crew were dialed in.
When JJ came out for the encore and played the first note I yelled, "Holy Shit...Bermuda Hwy!!!". I think a few hundred people heard me.
i was standing on the back rail to on Carl's side. I was a little bit disappointed that they played Hard Rock live rather than House of Blues...but the sound was good. If I had any complaints, I thought the bass was a little heavy and drowned out Carl and Jim's guitars at times....particularly some of Carl's solos. But otherwise, it was LOUD and clear.

I like the way you all think. I hope they bring this shit n NY
Some of these Dec setlists have been awesome (SF, Dallas, Florida). Kinda bummed I missed most of these favorite rarities in LA and San Diego (Dancefloors was awesome, I'm not too into Phone Went West, but I'd die for I Will Sing You Songs or The Way He Sings). Xmas Curtain, Steam Engine and O Is The One sounds like they'd be killer! Good for all of you who got to see 'em. I'm jones for more MMJ shows and I just got finished seeing two. I'm addicted, that is clear. ;D
These guys just get better and better everytime I see them. This was my first show in a closed room (both other gigs have been amphitheatres) and the sound was pretty amazing. Awesome, awesome set list. I thought Delta Spirit did a very good job too. They were actually a pretty nice fit for an MMJ opener.

Good call. They were very polished, tight, and the lead singer really worked the crowd. Definitely going to check out some of their stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, they only have two full length albums out; History from Below and Ode to Sunshine...both of which are great.
they have a really good EP if you can find it - i got turned onto them a few years back - the EP includes songs "Gimme Some Motivation," "Streetwalker," "When In Rome," "French Quarter," and another song or two. All great stuff.
Anyone found any taper recordings yet? where are they?

I would be a little surprised if someone was able to tape the show... they had metal detectors set up at the door, and they might not have let someone in with recording equipment. Not sure what Hard Rock policy is.
