Hey y'all just got me an iPhone, was wondering if anybody has any of the itunes ringtone suggestions for MMJ?

I had "I'm Amazed" on my previous phone and liked the way it kicked in when a call came in.  Now, for my iPhone, I have "Victory Dance".  When a call comes in, it starts with "setting sun!"

I had that for a while.  ;D

My favorite has been the outro of "I Will Sing You Songs"...the "breathe in" part.

I got this website from another forum I frequent that lets you convert youtube vids into ringtones:

http://video2ringtone.com/ (http://video2ringtone.com/)

And here's a list of steps to convert any mp3 into a ringtone using itunes:

1.  Start iTunes and find the song you want to convert. (It must be an MP3.)

2.  Right-click the song and choose Get Info.

3.  Click the Options tab.

4.  Check the Start Time and Stop Time boxes, then enter times for each (no more than 30 seconds apart, the maximum length for a ringtone). I used 0:00 and 0:30, respectively, as "Spit It Out" has a perfect ascending lead-in.

5.  Click OK, then right-click the song again and choose Create AAC Version. You should immediately see a new 30-second version of the song.

6.  Drag that version out of iTunes and into the folder of your choice.

7.  Delete the 30-second version from iTunes and undo the Start
Time/Stop Time changes to the original.

8.  Open the folder containing the 30-second AAC file you dragged out of iTunes, then change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. Double-click it and it immediately gets added to iTunes' ringtone library.

9.  Finally, sync your iPhone. When it's done, you can head into the settings and select your new ringtone.

Hope this helps...  :)

An alternate way to make your own ringtones:

1) Download Audacity (it's free)
2) Import a song
3) Chop up your song any way you like
4) Export the mp3
5) Import in to iTunes (I usually put it on its own little playlist)
6) Follow iLikeBeer's steps

This might be lengthy, but it lets you really pinpoint the parts you'd like to include/exclude, and you can fade in/out, reverse, singalong, etc.

anyone remember that 8-bit sounding melody that they used as a transition for the todd haynes film. it sounded like a synthesized clip of "black metal"

it happened before one of the Twitter Q&A clips

Not MMJ related, but I tried to rip Donny's "phone's ringing, dude" from Lebowksi.  Volume was too low to make a decent ring tone, but I always thought that'd be a pretty cool one to have.

I used to have One Big Holiday on my old phone.  It was always exciting to hear that first verse every time I got a call :-)

I have a clip from PWW - gorgeous 2012 Red Rocks version.   It's so good - it makes it hard to answer the phone.

This isn't a MMJ ringtone, but I just want to share that every morning I wake up to hearing, Tupac and Dr. Dre tell me that California knows how to party. It's a nice way to get me out of bed.

I have I'm Amazed as well...lookin t chop up a new one soon, maybe Cobra.  Btw, be careful with saving the ringtone file - for about a year, the song in my iTunes folder was cut to the 30 second length of ringtone - I would be rocking out to the song only to have it end suddenly when vocals kick in.  Eventually figured out that I had to re download it
