Thanks for posting tattsun! Knowing that the band is in Japan, makes me wonder about our T5 friend Tomoaki. Hope he is doing alright and has made it to at least one of these shows!  :)

nice update. do you by any chance know the amount of people, roughly, that are showing up to the shows in Japan?

Is Tomoaki the guy who came from Japan for the first two T5 shows?  I was next to him for the At Dawn show and I remember sharing a high five with him after that fuck-your-life Phone Went West.

great pics!  nice to see the stage simple and back to basics while they are rocking out.

Was there a poster for sale at the show, did you notice?

Yes! He joined the forum after T5 and I think he might have posted at least once. We have been wondering about him since last years Japanese disaster...

Thanks for the photos!  It was my first time in Japan and I extended my stay when I found out MMJ was playing.  The sound was fantastic there!  I was standing in the tapers section so I could not see how packed it was.  It looked pretty full to me but it wasn't so packed that you could not move around.  There was no poster that I could see and only 3 shirts for sale (and some CD's).  It was my first time to see the boys outside of Dallas and it was great!  BTW, thanks to the taper who bought me a water while I was standing with my less-than-state-of-the-art rig!

Those pics are awesome.  Talk about sharp elbows makes me laugh  ;D  ;D  ;D  I know they come in handy when you are a fan maneuvering for the rail but I wonder what Jim uses his for now that he is the star of the show?  Do they get sharper with age and if so, will we see him in some sort of armor in the coming years?  Have Tom and Carl ever required stitches after getting too  close to Jim as he starts whoopin' on the flying V?

It's like he's got a superpower, but it's a really shitty one. It wouldn't even help you pick up a girl in a bar; although it would be useful if you got jumped from behind - right side only. It might come in handy on the bus, if somebody couldn't get a plastic bag open.

Some thoughts after viewing emicon's flickr photos.

  • Carl's hair is really becoming bigger, blonder, fluffier. It looks absolutely beautiful in these pictures. Carl's just getting sexier and the water in Japan must really agree with his hair.
  • Tom is growing his hair out.

Love the hair growing out (Tom, I'm talking to you) but let's not go back to the days of yore:

Talk about a hair band.  Sheesh![/list]

Jim James...rock star, philosopher, kitchen appliance.  I'll bet he can carve graffiti in a picnic table.

If he wants to impress a girl, he carves her name in a tree behind his back!

Meanwhile, somewhere out there in the Pacific realm, Jim James (aka "#?>"...forgive the spelling, my Swedish is a bit rusty), repeatedly bursts into spontaneous fits of giggling.  Inspired, the band writes "Highly Suspicious Part 2" and releases it as a 7".  A mysterious picture of the name "Fully" carved into a tree is chosen to adorn the cover.

I for one support this vision of the future! Those of us used to the Swedish language can easily interpret Jims intent in his new moniker, the ? represents the questioning/suspicious part and the arrow in #?^ points up high... It's all so clear now.

I translated an article written in ancient Japanese that revealed to key pieces of information: 1) Jim has a rare genetic mutation of his elbows that allows him to melt your face just by pointing them at you...the one thing is, the face-melting pheromone cannot penetrate clothing. Hence, elbow cleavage. 2)His new name actually comes from the same village in Iceland where Bjork is from, but is quite an international translation...#?^ means the number (#) of questions asked(?) is in direct proportion to your elevation (^) (not the U2 kind...)

My ancient Japanese might be a little rusty, so I may have missed something...but I really hope this helps!

P.s. carving your name into a tree behind his back was one of the funniest things ever... I bet he could do it. Carl would be giving technical instructions from a nearby tree, Patrick would be talking about what a gift the art of elbow carving is, and Tom and Bo would be laughing and making up funny shit for him to write on the tree...
