Ok. At the show I started asking the question. One or two? I went with night two because it was played to perfection and was one of the longest MMJ shows in history. BUT...after closer consideration I have decided that the show that contained:
Rollin Back
The Way That He Sings
Heartbreakin Man
The Dark
Lowdown
War Begun
I Will Sing You Songs
Librarian
Rocket Man
Tonight I Want to Celebrate With You
Wordless Chorus
Evil Urges
Tyrone
Master Plan
What A Wonderful Man
Easy Morning Rebel
It's About Twilight Now
Never Tear Us Apart
Anytime
Butch Cassidy
Victory Dance
Off The Record
Cobra
Rock the Casbah
Gideon
Wins.
Night one by a teeny tiny margin.
Night one no question for me. It was more than the setlist though. The feeling, the wind, etc... PLUS the setlist.
Night one for me because that was the night I got to pop Masterplan, Twilight, War Begun cherry and even with the technical problems, it was still one of the top three shows I've ever seen.
Too difficult to choose. Night One had the better setlist but Night Two was more of a rock concert. Night One gets points deducted for "Librarian", making the matchup much closer.
Night 2 gets points deducted for Movin' Away AND The Day is Coming which sucks more than librarian-way more.
Night one for me because of the set list and atmosphere, despite the technical difficulties. That said, night two could not have been any better. Having gone both nights = win win.
I like Librarian, The Day is Coming AND Moving Away (who doesn't love Jim's front of the stage cape antics?) But I get why people don't. Just not me.
I like Librarian even though I rarely listen to it. I always wonder who the girl is who inspired it - Ky, perhaps.
But night one was the best night. Night two was a great show- no doubt. Night one just edged over the line into legendary for me. Night two was right at the line.
Not even a close call for me - night one by a large margin. That being said, night two was amazing. Except for the two little girls two rows ahead of me that kept chucking glow sticks at us all night.
I wasn't there, but after listening to both shows a few times, I vote for night. I find myself listening to that one more. Night 2 was insane and PWW was stellar, but the combo songs they picked for night one (many of which are among my all time favorites) is hard to beat. The encore with Cobra and Rock the Casbah, it just can't get much better.
Night 1 was the better show
