When they played this I was totally caught off guard...I was like MMJ doesn't jam out, but man this was hot
My buddy from CA came to his first show last night. He was going to something like his 50th phish show Saturday. His comment after last night was, "I don't know what phish has to offer me anymore". The flip side was that he doesn't know if he will go to another Jacket show anytime soon because he's not sure if it can get better.i assured him that I've said that after every show as well.
The lights last night were exquisite. The show felt like a string of 11 minute jams with a set list made as a gift for its most loyal fans. There was not ONE glow stick thrown. The crowd was actually quiet during Butch and Bermuda. Thank you too has taken on a new life.

Shoot. I had finally convinced myself that I wasn't going to download anymore shows for awhile to try and save a little cash. Somehow that argument never seems to last very long
Great show last night, obviously, except for the 2 seperate drunk guys who just happened to find their way right to where my sister and I were (one trying to push to the rail and getting regulated and another dancing just a bit too vigorously 4 rows back) , it was perfect.
I wonder which forum members I saw and was standing next to last night? I felt like maybe I should have worn a name tag. I suspect many of the people who I see post here all the time were right next to me.
How about the entry snafu, that threatened to be a bummer, but thankfully worked itself out (frozen fingers aside). Couldn't figure out whether to wait in the long line on the side or the shorter line going in the main entrance.
Big thanks to EricM for hooking me up with tickets, and tippitoes/oistheone/mahg33tah for one for my buddy. Can't wait for tonight.

Possibly, bluish green with a pink scarf. She was waiting in the line down the block, I was trying to suss out the situation in front of the venue and decide the best course of action.
Ended up going in the front when they let everyone with hard tix, even non-RC people, then they came around and got us RC people and pulled us in ahead of the rest. It worked out fine in the end.
Still curious who the taller thin-ish woman with long dark hair standing just left of center and the bearded guy with glasses on the rail are, the drunk guy tried to push to front and she just shut him down, then the bearded guy told him he better head back out the way he came. It was authoritative. I ended up having to check this guy with a red plaid shirt who thought 4 rows back from the rail was a good place to 'mosh' (or at least dance excessively bumping into people). When your good time infringes on other people's good time, that's not good and it might be time to cut down on the butt-chugging.
Sure tonight will be smoother, hope anyway, not sure I am going to bother getting there at 6 again though, think 7 will be fine. I even ended up retreating to the upper level railing for the encore to beat the coat-check crowd and that was a pretty good spot as well.
Looks like a great set list. Can't wait to hear the official soundboard and it makes me even more excited for NYE.

Ha! the bearded guy was Haldon. And that mosher dude was fucking ridiculous

Seriously, updaters, tapers, picture takers, video makers...you all are real life heroes, gang. You really bring joy and happiness to all of us homebodies, and it is truly, truly appreciated.
I totally agree. It takes the sting out a bit. Thank you, thank you, thank you. These downloads are going to be incredible. Keep 'em comin'! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

I might have been next to you in the line outside...was your sister wearing a blue coat? Tonight better be smoother.

Sounds like you could e describing Kristin and Matt. I was right next to them, and the plaid shirt guy was the WORST
Mahg33tah, I was maybe 10 Feet away, back and to the left, blue plaid shirt until I had to take it off because it got too hot (the band was on fire).
The guy who tried to push his was to the front was all 'I'm roll-call', and everyone was like, um, we are too. The red-plaid shirt guy was different, he didn't try to push to the rail, just being a drunken jack-ass 4 rows back.
Who is it with the funny green hat on?
it was great meeting so many of you in the line yesterday...in return i tried being sgt of arms and making ppl laugh...who was that robert plant/david gilmour family of 4 that kept hopping in both lines and eventually made it to center rail? that pissed me off when they got to venue at 6pm and we were all shivering
bringing my new gf to her first show tonight...we met at the Cap in September. hoping she gets Masterplan tonight as she loves that song. I once again will apologize for blocking anybody tonight tho I cant help being as tall as I am. #mmjpc2
funny green hat guy introduced himself to me as Rob - i remember him from the T5 shows
Oh man, seeing Ruckus in the hat hurts so bad. I'm missing new memories!!!
I thought green hat guy was Ruckus, my fellow Baltimoron, I'll have to say hello tonight, hope he still has that hat on...
Thank you Dillsnufus

Just watched all the vids. Thanks Dillsnufus!!!! For just a few minutes at least, I could feel like I was there. It was so real, I actually think I got a hair in my mouth!

I think my favorite line was Rob saying "I enjoy giving kyle the flask just to watch him drink the cheap stuff"! although I think there's a dig in there at me somewhere. Anyway, it was a treat to finally see a Deer Tick show w/ the guy who encouraged my enthusiasm for them 2 years ago.
FYI you cheap boozers, it's cheaper to buy the puree fruit thingy's for kiddo's and wash them out and fill 'em with booze. Nobody ever check the food for kids; it's a win win win!

Thank you so much, Dills! Those videos were awesome. Holy shit. Octoplasm was ridiculous. I don't even understand Patrick's timing. In the beginning of the Octo-video, you see him hold a beat to make the time change just slight enough to blow your mind. Sooner was pretty cool...it had some different things on the piano...and I really like how Jim sang Nashville to Kentucky as more of a soul song. I'm also all about the heavy sax involvement in the show. It adds so much. Whoever said Tom was at another level was absolutely right too. It was funny when he and Jim were kinda talkin' shit to each other during one of the songs...did anyone see that?
Ummmm...stalking Dills' YouTube page paid off...That fumky lil' whipper-snapper COBRA is at it again. I'm like real into them acting like weirdos, and Jim's dancing...and Carl even started busting some moves and there was like a real Flamenco drumbeat toward the end. Fucking Cobra. Gets me EVERY time.

more tmrw. good night everybody
WOW - amazing video, thanks Dills!
did you all notice how close Carl cam to not being able to play in the solo? like 5 seconds from disaster - his pedal baoard meltdown was very distracting and he was super pissed off
Yes, being on the rail in front of Carl, I noticed it quite a bit. Didn't seem like he had to sit any of the show out, though.
It might have been me caught up in his pedal board drama but I thought he pulled out the sax for a solo rather than mess with the guitar... either way it was very cool. Being in the balcony it kept my attention watching them trying to fix the boards, was like a train wreck I kept trying not to watch!
Same seat, different show tonight! Can't wait!
just got done listening to the copy of last night show. Came out good. (AKG391 > Edirol R09-HR) on a 7ft stand behind board. Will be taping tonight with same as well as AT853hc > Zoom H4. Will post both shows Saturday to etree. Question, does anyone have a 2GB SD card I can borrow for tonight to tape on the second rig. I lost mine during flooding in sandy. I'll be behind the board not hard to miss. Can't be larger than 2GB. Thanks in advance. Great show last night can't wait to see tonight's surprises!
that's all the videos i got. more to come from 12/29 and new year's eve if my arms got life in them left at that point lol
