So I just did some renovating and created a little music room in my loft upstairs. Anyone else have a room dedicated to music, whether it be listening or playing?
Here's a few pics...still have some work to do, but I think it's coming along nicely

You mean the man cave aka the sanctuary?
Yes, it's my favorite room in my house. Could be one of the few things that helps keep me sane in an otherwise insane world. I've been fortunate enough to share my music room with some very good people on this forum.
I think I've posted some pix in the past in other threads but I am sure you must be very proud of yours. Looks like a beauty.
Very nice!
Had one in my old house, before we moved this past June...it wasn't that nice though. I need to get a second stereo system or something...the problem I run into is my good speakers and record player always end up in the living room, with my "cool" furniture and music playing equipment in another room.
My basement in this house has some potential...I plan on having a music section, a workout section, a brewing section, and a storage section
(Someday soon?)
Looks nice :)
Yeah we have one too, the man cave, or "information centre". Hundreds of CDs, records,
books, it's pretty amazing. It's the only room in the house I rock out with the harmonica.
I'm planning on a music room soon. Wall-to-wall framed gig posters, inspired by the Fillmore in San Fran. I'll have two amps up there, 6 guitars and a music centre set up. Can't wait!
I've been planning a music room in my head for years and it looks a lot like yours! I'm jealous!
he.who.forgets, looks great! The one thing that's missing is a killer bong, and maybe a shrine for it.
Hawkeye's music room is now the nursery!

Yes! What is a music room without a bong?
My music room is currently in the form of a girl's playroom in our attic?! One day it will be mine... ALLLLL MIIIINE!!!
thanks for all the compliments! I plan to trash that pc and desk (which you can barely see from the photos) and replace with a laptop. I'm also going to add a beanbag chair or two. And finally still need to frame some more posters for the walls but they're all irregular shapes/sizes so could be holding off for a while since as you probably know it can get quite expensive.

Without a killer bong, it's just storage.
No bong in my music room, but I will have a beer fridge and Fender Twin Reverb amp.
If you're gonna have a beer fridge in your music room, shouldn't it be this one?

I will, but Bud won't be in it, that's for sure.
No, Jaimoe, it'll be 50 all the way

yeah, just noticed Zepp IV on the turntable and Tatoo You as well, nice! Nice looking cocktail there, too, although it looks like melting ice has diluted your bourbon, I think you need a fresh drink!
I just recently got our office/music room going, got some framed posters up and CD racks mounted on the walls and stuff, it looks kinda like yours without the guitars. Those are all in my sons' room, he's the guitar player in the family. I'll try to get some photos soon.

Let me know if you need a bong for your room.
Ha, I'm barely getting by with my Surfer Rosa poster. Our friends kids LOVE the music room...especialy the Surfer Rosa poster, my wifes grandma...not so much. I remember in highschool my mom found a homemade bong in my car and I told her it was a science experiment for school....she at least pretended to buy it, then again, I kinda Was telling the truth.

I remember finding my moms weed when I was 8. My brother and I were in the midst of trying kill each other and he pushed me into the rubber tree plant and knocked it over. It was hidden in the planter. She said it was catnip. We didn't have a cat. I still bought it.
Love the weed stories!
Damn, posting photos still eludes me, even though I've been taught before. Well, here's a link to Flickr if you are inclined to take a look at our music room and a couple of my sons guitars (Taylor acoustic and an Epiphone Les Paul)

Oh yeah, that Zeppelin diorama is a school project my son did a few years back. Yep, he's a way cool kid!
That Zep diorama is so cool! Your son is quite talented.

Thanks Fully! That was one of my favorite projects with Austin!! He was in 3rd grade and the assignment was to read a book and make a diorama on a favorite person or persons. Austin chose Led Zeppelin! Luckily his teacher was pretty cool and it probably didn't hurt that she was a Neil Young fanatic too! Recently, we were going through the house purging stuff and can you believe we were wondering whether to keep the diorama or not. I must have had a momentary lapse of reason on that one! We kept it and will forever and it has a new home in the music room!
newest addition: bought this beauty in a consignment shop the other day - it's a 50's bar and faux fireplace with built-in speakers.

Holy SHIT, I am coveting that thing!
Currently i've been taking over the dinning room. If i had my own place i would have a great music room with many posters, amps, guitars, a bass, keyboard and i would have to buy a drum set for some sweet jams. oh man can i dream.

I don't have any pics right now, but my entire apartment is a music room. The living room, right off the kitchen has my record player, a couch, and all my records. The bedroom has my guitars and the amp.
My neighbors probably don't like me very much.
Given to fly, sounds like my old apartment. you walked in and there were Hendrix posters and records every which way. I miss living in a house filled with music, now i just enjoy the space my family gives me. Still great times. On and Off topic, i had a great jam session tonight with some new people, the best words i had were, you are a great on your guitar but you need to learn to let the simple be simple and the complex be complex. now that's not exactly what he said but what i got from it was that i need to stop filling up every measure with consistent 16th notes and just let sound be sound. i think my issue is that i play by myself too much and dont' have another instrument to listen to when i'm jamming. It was a spectacular night and i hope everyone had a great saturday. Had a bit too much whiskey but it was worth it.

What kind of speakers are those in the last picture? I have a pair that look exactly like them, they're from Korea.

Mine are Radioshack's NOVA 8B's. very good speakers for my simple L-R setup.
NOVA's ---> MCS 3862 100 watt receiver ---> MCS 6601 direct drive auto turntable w/ audio technica cartridge
