Fantastic. If all goes to plan I'll be able to see Jim 3 times in the next few months. Hope I can score a Webster Hall ticket and can't wait to see his set at Roo.
Nashville date :cheesy:
Now I don't have to worry so much.
Interesting! Yes, Big Herm! We'll definitely see him on 5/2 at the L shaped Cannery. Get there early so you can be in front of the stage and not by the bar.
looks like Philly or Asheville for this 757-based 9 to 5'er
thanks CC - the :drum: was worth it!
How about adding another Louisville date at the end of that? Iroquois, maybe. Bookends.
Looks like Boston is it for me. At least its on a Friday during my April vacation!

good job on the blurb at the end of the roll call email about having limited tickets available. covering bases!

that is a weird room. Cool looking inside, but not too acoustically friendly.
Fillmore on a Friday! Free apples.
any chance of soundcheck packages?

darn, I see that now, I was looking at April. Friday would work so much better for me. Might have to do the Fonda in LA on Saturday.
I will be at stubb's but my question is when are they adding the NOLA Jazzfest Late Night show. With the nights off before Austin I figure this is a good shot or perhaps a ACL taping on 5/5.
None of these work for me
Have fun everyone and good luck with tickets.

A taping would be very nice.
Wooo!!! Awesome news! So glad Jim is not only hitting Toronto, but playing at the Phoenix no less! One of my favorite venues in town.
Looks like Jim was true to his word in that he would leave a few moths after the record drops before the tour started. Looking forward to learning this record front to back and dancing my ass off at these shows! Also very pumped that all these dates are well before Roo. Was worried the tour might interfere with Bonna itinerary!
What does roll call vip tickets get you?
:( Too bad I have another show the night he plays the hometown show!
Hope to at least hear some nice recordings of these!

How expensive are the tickets anyways?

Damn, a Tuesday night, 3 hours away. But, I'll be there.
Hey all, ticket limit is 2 per roll call member/show and there won't be soundcheck access this time around.
i'm down with no soundcheck, that means more money to spend on other shows. thanks for the info wade
I'll be trying for the Orange Peel. Great Venue to see a show. I saw Jack White with Alabama Shakes there last year. Cant Wait!

Wade - this seems obvious to me, but I need to make sure. Does bigger venues = more roll call tickets than the NYC/Phili shows?
Also Wade, will Roll Call members still get early entry to these shows?
I just saw where tickets are listed at $26 at The Cannery.

I'm definitely doing the same, Milwaukee on Friday and then Chicago on Saturday!!!! Love that this isn't during the work week and I'll be able to attend.
CHIMMJFAN
My plan right now is Louisville, C-Bus (you gonna be there robb?) and Nashvegas. Chicago is on a Saturday, so depending on the caliber of these shows it's always possible to hit it up last minute
Asheville it is... Kind of wild looking at all those major markets and then one small town. It's a neat place though and always look forward to going, and relatively close to me, about 2 hours away. Damn, Atlanta got nothing.
So, what's the difference between the 2 links (Roll Call VIP vs. Tickets) on the ticket page?

One......
OR ALL OF THESE::::
Asheville
Columbusssss
Philly
I may just be back on the scene this year (I kind of promised I would, for Jim solo tour  )
We'll be hitting the SF and Portland shows for sure - maybe Seattle as well. Stoked!

Most likely. I'm planning on Chicago for sure, and then once I get those tickets, I'm sure I'll wind up getting on to C-bus as well.
EDIT: looks like $26 for Columbus as well. has anybody seen anything for the Chicago show?
Definately hitting up the DC show and might actually hit up the Asheville show as I've been looking for a reason to hit up one of my favorite southern towns.
According to LEO, the band includes "drummer Dave Givan, bassist Alana Rocklin, keyboardist Dan Dorf and Kevin Ratterman on percussion and samples."
Hadn't seen this posted yet.

Damn, Jim's band is a Louisville supergroup alright! Awesome to see Ratterman in there! Really excited to hear how these guys (and girl) sound. Ain't nothin I love more than a woman on bass. I don't think there's any way they won't bring some serious grooves.
First Ave! That makes four shows in April (so far)--Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, Clutch, The Black Angels & Jim James. Spring fever is going to be strong this year!
I am definitely interested in Philly - probably the only show I could realistically make. I saw Tame Impala at Union Transfer not too long ago and it's a pretty cool place. I just hope I don't log on at noon Wednesday only to find there aren't any tickets available for roll callers again.... :undecided:

Royale (Boston) : $26 advance / $29 day of show
Holy crap Ratterman with the beats on these new songs! That is great news!
Im thinking about re-enrolling into Roll Call, but after paying for this semester, money is tight. Honestly, is it worth buying a Roll Call membership to be able to possibly get the first stab at tix?
I know its Jim's solo tour, though::)
I'm going to the McKittrick show... And I'd love to go the Webster Hall show... But money doesn't grow on trees and it's a tight fit in my schedule. What do you guys think?
Seattle

At least we got a short meet-up after the show! But meeting for that beer definitely sounds good to me! My wife and I usually hit up Elevator Brewery and Draught Haus before we see any show in C'bus. Good beer and good food. It's on High St. near the Arena District and about 2 miles from the Newport. There are also plenty of places within a short walk of the Newport as well. We can figure things out closer to the date...

just don't try to drink there...or drink too much...or look suspicious...they're WEIRD there..my friend got padded down because he was 'going up and saying hi to too many people' and to drink liquor you have to buy a membership and go to the club downstairs (and you can bring one guest in) PS i love the venue but they're STRANGE..

That is weird. I've only been there twice but...I think I was even the weird guy there one time...but never been harassed. I'm more of a beer guy so I don't usually go downstairs, but we went down there last time...they do make some pretty tasty beverages, but they are $$$ (to be expected). More than anything I was amazed how empty it was last time I was there. White Denim and Maps & Atlases and the place was EMPTY. Maybe 100 people?
I wouldn't under estimate the hometown advantage here. There's a reason why the only arena they've played other than MSG is the yum center

Kind of strange to hear that though as Asheville is considered the "Paris" of the south and the local college is pretty much a hippie haven. I figured the peel would be a pretty laid back venue. I grew up about 2 hours away from here in VA so I'm used to the unusal ways of a lot of the southern towns can be so hopefully we can get around that whole ordeal. I'm still really stoked about the venue as a lot of people I know say its an awesome place to see a show.
I have a meeting today at noon when the Roll Call sales start, I'm trying to figure out if I need to take a quick exit to order tickets. What exactly is the advantage of ordering today for a place like the Orange Peel? Is it just to assure you get a ticket, I wouldn't think it would sell out super quick. If they allow early entry for a show to Roll Call is it for all Roll Call members or just the ones who preordered tickets?

i'm not sure...i've been there 4 times and loved each show but it's a weird place and maybe it was just for DBT shows but there were undercover security throughout the crowd, my cousins and i got cut off the first time there (drunk but not disorderly or hurting anyone), my friend this year got searched (he was there with his wife, when he asked why, they said he looked suspicious going up and saying hi to too many peopele), I even heard Mike Cooley make a joke about having to sneak liquor backstage (they have some sort of law against it)..yeah, Asheville's an awesome hippie town, i love it but the Orange peel is just a strange place when it comes ot drinking.
i'm sure it'll be different for a JJ show..
Good luck to all trying to get tix today.
So to be prepared....do you guys know where exactly the ticket link will be? I'm shooting for the NYC show so do I just keep refreshing this page:
http://mymorningjacket.com/events/162953 (http://mymorningjacket.com/events/162953)
I thought I would post this below in regards to the pre-sales happening this morning. It's good to know if you don't, and a good refresher if you do. Good luck to all!
"Please Note: Jim James is playing in much smaller venues than a typical MMJ show and due to venue contracts, the pre-sale inventory for Roll Call is very limited. We wish we could offer more inventory during the presale, but we can't. If you are unable to secure tickets during the presale, please try during the public on-sale.
Also, please remember that fans have 8 minutes to complete a transaction once they have added tickets to their shopping cart. At the start of the presale, there is generally a heavy amount of traffic that hits the page and grabs all available inventory. If someone does not purchase the tickets after adding it to their cart, the ticket is then released. Presale inventory is not sold out until the "tickets" link takes you to the public on-sale link"
As much as I'd like to buy tix via my roll call account for the Fillmore show, the non-transferable thing is a total deal breaker. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ROLL CALL. I'll have to wait for the general on sale because I never know for sure where my work schedule is going to have me months from a particular date.
that was easy. Boston Roll Call
Hope everyone had luck! Wasn't exactly trying for a high-demand show, but checking out was a breeze for two tickets to the Toronto show!

$6.95 for shipping? Don't tickets usually just come in the mail? With Processing fees that comes to almost $10? Damn I hate buying tickets.
Got through for my Webster Hall ticket though. Happy to say I know i'll be seeing Jim 2 times soon (3 if I end up at Bonnaroo)!
Got 2 tickets for Seattle
successful Denver roll call purchase! no confirmation email yet though.
got 2 for webster
One thing I disliked was it made me think I had bought the tix before I confirmed payment. Some pop-up window said "Success!" and the screen looked like a receipt but was just a review. Minor complaint though.
Got 2 to Austin.
aren't these tickets will call? why is it charging you shipping?

Ok I got lucky and got in for both Chicago and Milwaukee shows. Chicago was not will call and Milwaukee was. I can't remember the last time I had to have tickets mailed to me. Strange there was not an option for print at home or will call.
I hear tickets sold out in less than 2 mins, so I am fortunate to have landed these. I hope to see everyone in Chicago and Milwaukee!

I just picked up two for Stubbs as well. I think that is a perfect venue. Great sightlines wherever you are. Still intimate as it's not a huge outdoor venue. It is one of my favorite places to see big name acts (went to Alabama Shakes/Smashing Pumpkins this fall). What other venue would you want him to play?

Me and the Flakester in for DC.
Almost signed up for Roll Call, to ensure I got tix. Glad I didn't :undecided:
1) I really only anted the Red Rocks download and the option to buy presale tickets. I would have paid $29.99 for that, but not the $48 it comes to with shipping and processing.
2) Sounds like the presale thing isn't working for Asheville anyway...
I will be on the Orange Peel website at noon sharp hoping to score 3 tix! The only shows I've heard anyone having problems with at the OP were the Jack White show this year, the Smashing Pumpkins 2007, and the Beastie Boys...fingers crossed.

I think Stubb's makes sense. I reckon Moody Theater would have been better ... but it's even bigger than Stubb's. Emo's East is a horrible venue/location. Anywhere else is probably too small.
Not that I was expecting a Miami (or Florida) date...I'm still  that there are no close shows to me.
Maybe next time :undecided:

aren't these tickets will call? why is it charging you shipping?
Something about NY needing to mail the tickets. But even so....I get tickets in the mail from Ticketmaster or Ticketfly because it's no charge. I didn't expect to pay $6 to ship these tickets lol
I didnt expect to pay $50 for these tickets, too steep if you ask me. I'd bet that 50 bucks is the most expensive show that has taken place at Webster Hall in years. But it is what it is, just happy I got a ticket

I was quite surprised. After I saw someone else mention $26 for a different date I got excited. Should have realized I'd pay double that lol.
Masquerade - Atlanta, GA 5/04... Just found it trying to re pull up the Asheville page to see if it was working yet.

I wish he was playing a smaller venue here in Austin. Stubb's is where MMJ play.
Some of Austin's larger venue capacities (approx):
Mohawk - 800 (?)
Paramount Theater - 1200
La Zona Rosa - 1200
Emo's East - 1650
Stubb's - 2200
ACL Live at Moody Theater- 2550
Bass Concert Hall - 2700
Austin Music Hall - 3250

Love Stubb's. Was hoping against odds we would two nights at the parish or something. Not sure how big the new Antone's will be when it opens. The AC at lzr might have been nice too!

Definately hitting up the DC show and might actually hit up the Asheville show as I've been looking for a reason to hit up one of my favorite southern towns.
The Orange Peel is a great venue as well, if you've never been.
just don't try to drink there...or drink too much...or look suspicious...they're WEIRD there..my friend got padded down because he was 'going up and saying hi to too many people' and to drink liquor you have to buy a membership and go to the club downstairs (and you can bring one guest in) PS i love the venue but they're STRANGE..
Kind of strange to hear that though as Asheville is considered the "Paris" of the south and the local college is pretty much a hippie haven. I figured the peel would be a pretty laid back venue. I grew up about 2 hours away from here in VA so I'm used to the unusal ways of a lot of the southern towns can be so hopefully we can get around that whole ordeal. I'm still really stoked about the venue as a lot of people I know say its an awesome place to see a show.
i'm not sure...i've been there 4 times and loved each show but it's a weird place and maybe it was just for DBT shows but there were undercover security throughout the crowd, my cousins and i got cut off the first time there (drunk but not disorderly or hurting anyone), my friend this year got searched (he was there with his wife, when he asked why, they said he looked suspicious going up and saying hi to too many peopele), I even heard Mike Cooley make a joke about having to sneak liquor backstage (they have some sort of law against it)..yeah, Asheville's an awesome hippie town, i love it but the Orange peel is just a strange place when it comes ot drinking.
i'm sure it'll be different for a JJ show..
Wow, maybe they've been under pressure to stop illegal activities at the venue or excessive drinking. That happens from time to time, I know at one Widespread show near my hometown there was a report in the newspaper that 150 citations/arrests were made at the show or something crazy like that for various offenses. Small areas can get a little too overly protective at times in the bible belt trying to keep everything under control. I'll just have to make sure to be properly lubed up  prior to heading in.

Always a good idea. Also, don't eat the brown acid.
Barley's will be happy to assist you with that. Nice selection of taps, and their feta and andouille sausage pizza, Oh My!!
