Hopefully we'll be getting our tickets soon for the Vic show
My order shows that it will be shipping today via ups with a conf/track# Hopefully I can track it later today or tomorrow.
Mine have not even shipped yet. Does anyone have a phone number for GroundCTRL?

So I called ground control and they have NOT shipped the tickets, they have "yet to receive them". They told me there is a chance they might not get them in time to mail and could be changed to will call pick up. My question is how come the ones I ordered in the public sale came 1-week to 10 days after purchase and GC still hasn't gotten them. What gives ?

Tater that is seriously ridiculous!..10 days out from the show, too! You think there's a point where they let people know that there's been a snaffu...Is Charlie working in their mailroom?

I got basically the same answer. I just assumed since the ship date was April 5, that they would be shipped then or else some type of notification would have been posted on the roll call website. But that being said, if we don't get them within 3 days of the show, we need to call or email ground control who has a list of the ticket buyers I guess and we can get replacement tickets at the Vic the day of the show. But this is kind of a bummer, because we orderd these so long ago, and I don't want to have to stress about waiting for my tickets.
Tickets are in the mail

yippy skippy! got the same notification! Still on for Matilda's peeps?
Did you guys get an email confirmation? I see that my tickets were indeed shipped last night at 2:52am?? But I didn't get any email. Always something with Ground Control. The most frustrating fan club on the planet. :undecided:
What time are we thinking for Matilda's?
I didn't get a email either.
The only email I received was directly from UPS. Since I was expecting other items to be delivered I kind of missed it at first. : :
My UPS tracking shows the tix in Cali right now and delivered by Tuesday April 16th end of day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all of Jim's solo songs I'm hoping to hear him sing those words. Does anyone know what time the doors open? There is a contest on WXRT for a 5:30 pre show hang out with Jim. You can go on XRT's website to enter. Other than that, I think we should meet At Matilda's may an hour or 2 before the show?
Anyone have an opinon? 6:00 7:00? Also, if there is a contest, I'm wondering if that means maybe roll callers can get in earlier.
Finally this week has come, I can't wait for Friday night in Milwaukee and Saturday in Chicago!
I'm stuck at a Bday party during the day this Saturday, so I'm not sure how soon I can get to the city. I haven't seen anything about when the doors open or early access for Roll Call Members.

If I had (more than) doubts before about Ground Control ticketing, this solidifies it.
There is no excuse to run a business that way (and to treat your biggest fans/clients like this).

Hmmmm...business? Is that what the young kids are calling it these days?
We have heard that Roll Call early entry is happening for two shows- Boston and one other (I emailed ground(ctrl) about Boston; can't remember the other one). I would bring your RC laminate or membership card, just in case... assuming you want early entry.

I have one friend that does not belong to roll call yet, does anyone think he could get in if I gave him my MMJ card for roll call from the year before? Probably not but I would feel bad if we all got in from my group except for one. I'll bring my laminate just in case.
I'm looking forward to hanging at Matilda's with roll call peeps. The people I met in Nashville and Forecastle were all so super friendly and cool.
We should figure out what time to meet maybe after we know if we are getting in early?

What it reminds me of is my daughter and her autism. I over compensate for things that she should be doing herself, but they aren't easy for her to do. The more I do for her, the less she does for herself. Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself that I'm just making it easier for her to not learn to be responsible. One day I'm not going to be there for her and she had better learn how to take care of herself. Ground Control functions like that too. It's easier and nice of you to help others out with their questions, but it's their responsibility to do these things and to keep us informed. When they have you doing it, they can just sit back and not do what they should be doing. There should be official announcements about early entry. Everyone won't know to bring their cards. It's hard to sit back and let someone do something wrong, but sometimes it's the only way they'll learn. I know that your heart is in the right place on this, John, but I have to agree with Penny about this. GC just needs to do their job correctly if we are important to them - which to be honest once they get their money, we probably aren't just judging by past experiences.
I don't know how to answer this. If folks would rather I let ground(ctrl) NOT tell you stuff, I'll stand mute. I don't think anything I do or say is going to change their ways, as it hasn't yet (much as I and others have tried).
:undecided:
And, to be clear, I don't work for or have any connection to ground(ctrl). I emailed their support folks to see if early entry was an option for Boston BECAUSE I know they don't communicate well. Once I heard Boston and Louisville were both doing early entry, I figured others might like that information. If ground(ctrl) thinks they can avoid doing their jobs because of folks like me and slappymoe fizzlebottom sharing our inquiries with customer service, then that is quite foolish.

Understand I'm not against you doing this. I just think it's enabling them to be incompetent. I appreciate what you do. You've been helpful to me many times.
I always try to see both sides. And for me, getting information from John or someone else, just makes me feel that there are awesome people on this site looking out for one another. I appreciate any and all information, but it does seem like I get more from roll call peeps then what comes from ground control.
That being said, Fully - you are pretty much right. They need to learn, but I wish it was not at the expense of others - namely us people who would appreiciate updated info daily on the shows etc............
I can definitely agree that I get much more info from fellow Roll Call Peeps than those who are "in charge". I appreciate all the info and to be honest my expectations for Ground Control are pretty low.

Just checked my email and it shows my tickets were delivered at 2:07pm. I live in Wildwood Illinois, and my neighbor is expecting his tickets as well, so I told him to check his email.
Hopefully all you roll call peeps that are waiting for your tix will be getting them today

I believe the encore was
Bermuda Highway
Dear God
His Master's Voice
Right Place
Changing World
Losin Yo Head
such a great night!
Also, kind of strange. Does anyone know what's up with the Jim James impersonator? Those who saw him know what I'm talking about. Guy looked exactly like Jim James and was obviously trying to look like him. Just wondering what that was about, kind of odd.
My brother pointed him out. He was a total doppelgänger. He was a shrunken thicker version though.

Yeah he was like 6 rows in front of us in the balcony. People kept looking at him thinking it was Jim James. Not really sure why he did that
Once again a great show! Anyone notice Mayor Rahm Emaneul in the side balcony jamming out? We met him outside as he was being hurried to his waiting SUV and he said "fun show".

I saw him in the right lower balcony. He was rockin out every time I would look up there. It looked like he had a strobe light on him from everyone taking pictures of him. I think it's great he's a big MMJ and Jim fan. I picture Barack & Rahm sitting in the Oval Office blazing a major fatty listening to Victory Dance together.
