Well there's less than a week left to this show and still no thread -- there's gotta be SOMEONE else going... right?
After taking a look at the setlist of the Louisville encore, my excitement levels have soared to unheard of heights.
[Sidenote: This show will bring a much-needed boost of positive energy to my girlfriend, who has had a pretty rough couple of weeks. She got laid off a few weeks ago, and while walking home from another job interview, she got smoked by a car. She can barely walk but she wouldn't miss a Jim show for anything. Thankfully, the Phoenix has a balcony, so we're hoping to get there early to secure her a good view and a place where she can sit!]

I'll be going, with a girlfriend. I'm not sure about when we're getting there. We're coming in from Hamilton.
Thanks very much for the kind comments guys, I've passed them on to her! While this show may not miraculously heal all her injuries, it's almost guaranteed she'll leave with a fully recharged soul. Can't wait!

I actually haven't actually seen her confirmed anywhere (for this show anyway), but she's opening everywhere else on the tour and she's from Etobicoke so it would completely shock me if she wasn't there.
Cool! I just checked some Cold Specks out and like it. This is going to be a great show! I'm hoping to get up close, if I can. I want to get my eyes full of JJ :cheesy:

That's so weird BH! It's missing from her schedule. And neither the Phoenix website nor Ticketmaster list an opener.
Doors are at 7pm.
So, is it just oistheone and me going? Should we come up with some secret MMF freak signal to identify each other - assuming anyone's interesting in saying "Hi" to each other :tongue:
Alienlanes pointed out that Cold Specks is prolly not playing TO because when she's in her hometown she likely makes more money than the guarantee for these shows. So, why would should make a couple hundred opening for JJ at home when she can play a headliner and make 3 or more times that.
Waiting to hear back from Live Nation (the promoter) on Twitter regarding the opener.
Update: Live Nation have not hired an opener for the Toronto show yet. So far, Jim's it. That'll probably change, but holy moses they're cutting it close!

No opener eh? Weird! I'll definitely take it if that means an extended show! I remember at the Kool Haus MMJ show a few years ago, they had no opener and MMJ did an extended set, it was awesome! Here's hoping for the same here.

I will be there too. Agreed that the Kool Haus show was something special, as was the 2008 show and the Opera Show before that. Hopefully there will be an early admission gate for Members.

Does anyone have the early entry info for tomorrow? I realized I hadn't gotten an email about it and when I tried logging into my Roll Call account I found it had expired three days ago, with no warning or renewal notification! :undecided:
Hi Guy, ill be attending the show tonight with my girlfriend. Ill be around the area of the venue at 6:30 or so, and my girlfriend wont be arriving until 8. Is there any plans for predrinks before the show?

Yes, Cold Specks is indeed opening.
We're driving in from Hamilton at 6pm and so likely won't be at the venue till doors.

I've received no word on early entry for this show, and not all venues are working with Roll Call or if all seats are reserved, there's no real point. Enjoy and report back.

I was there last night. It was a good show, solid. A couple strange moments when Jim was off-stage for a few minutes while the others jammed. I hadn't really seen that before.
The encore began with "Wonderful" (which I think I've now heard at 95% of the shows I've been to). Then he did a Monsters of Folk block with all 'his' songs including "Dear God," "Master's Voice," etc. It was weird to hear Dear God with Jim singing all the parts.
I have no idea what the last song was. There was a lady near me who knew all the words though so I assume it was a forum member.
Canadian folks sure are nice.

The song was Changing World, the last track on New Multitudes. You should pick that album up. It's fantastic.
Oistheone - great video! Looks like you were about 10 feet to the left of me and a few feet back.
You can see in this vid that Dave messes up the rhythm at first and it takes a moment for him to get it right. The band were all laughing at him about it. Great vibe in this band!

I actually drove up from Rochester NY after work (arrived at 9:15), saw the show, and then drove back home. Got home about 4:30 am and up at 7:00 to get the kids to school and my ass to work. But it was worth it.
Dude, were you solo but talking to a couple of guys about Further, and the shows coming up this summer? One guy had a ball cap, one was really tall taking notes and one had grey hair (but, you know, in a manly kind of "I went grey at 30" kind of way).

So aside from one other show (which had Bermuda Highway as well), the encore has basically been the same? Still not complaining about that though.

It was a mix but it had a liberal dose of "Like A Ship (Without A Sail)" by Pastor TL Barret and the Youth For Christ Orchestra.
