Tickets are still available, bluesky, good luck!
I might be fooling myself, but I don't think tickets to this show are going to be hard to get. I apologize in advance if it sells out, but I'm blissfully stress-free and waiting til closer.
For once this wasn't a grnd-ctrl fuckup, even though I'd love to say it was. It was a Bpt Bluefish site problem, because obviously they weren't equipped to handle the volume of requests they were going to get when something other than a minor league baseball game goes on sale. But the password not working, that's just amateur.
QuoteDue to the popularity of the Americanarama Music Festival featuring Bob Dylan and His Band, Wilco, My Morning Jacket, and Ryan Bingham event you may have experienced challenges buying your tickets. We captured your attempt and want to give you an opportunity to get those tickets! We wanted to give you the opportunity before the tickets sell out.
With it all general admission, what was the rush? Took me 5 minutes this evening after work. Only disappointment is that there are no hard tickets.
Hey All! Got mine and Br00ke's tickets this afternoon from my phone. Thought it was great of the venue to handle the situation so quickly and direct!
It only became stressful because I spent an hour this am trying to get the final page to upload letting me buy the tickets. If it does or doesn't sell out makes no difference. Bad ticket mojo is stressful...

Try and get on it soon as Amtrak rates have gone up. My fare was $50 rt when I booked it, and as of today my train up there is up to $39. I think the fares out of NY Penn are still pretty cheap though, just don't know for how much longer.

I recommend this place for the preshow meetup. It's an easy 0.5 mile walk from the venue and has decent food & drink. I went there before seeing Rush and Neil Young shows at the indoor arena last year.

Doors are at 4:30. I also want to get the rail. Maybe preshow from 1-2:30 and then head over to the venue and get in line? I'm just guessing here about how early we would need to line up to get the rail. I assume we can't get early entry with our RC stuff for this tour.

One week from tonight and i see my band and my friends. That makes this a very happy friday. Can't wait to see ya'll!
Curious to hear some thoughts on the change of venues. Any info on ticket sales? I'm figuring slow sales played into the switch, but that's just an educated guess based on seeing this happen over the years.
I was really looking forward to an outdoor show in a minor league ballpark. Haven't been to one since the days of Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. and this park looked to be pretty sweet being right on the sound.
The only pluses I can take from this are no worries about the weather, and the rail probably being closer to the stage than in an outdoor stadium type setup.

I think it means the sales are brisk for this show. Here are the capacities of the two venues:
Ballpark at Harbor Yard - 5300
Webster Bank Arena - 10,000

Yes, but those Harbor Yard numbers are for just the reserved seats for a ball game, no? With a stage setup in centerfield, and the whole field ga,I'm sure that number would be close to double that just on the field.
The Springsteen ballpark shows I went to last summer with that type of setup had a ga pit that approached 5,000, then had reserved seated sections three deep behind it, and stopping at the infield. I'd bet there was at least 8,000-10,000 people on the field altogether. The only real difference in capacity to that would be the seats not on the field. This being a minor league park it has far fewer at 5,300 than a 40,000 seat major league park.

Thanks for the info Eric. I stand corrected.
While normally I'd be glad to have the show indoors (no worries wrt rain or heat/humidity), I'm a bit worried in this case. I lined up early with some friends for GA at the WBA last year for the Neil Young & Crazy Horse show. All was fine for hours...the line was polite and things were going well. Then a relatively short time before doors, some idiot decides that there will be an additional GA entrance across the way (not a few feet...a fair distance). So these doors would open at the same time...ensuring a mad dash for the front of the GA area. We complained mightily but to no avail. Then an even shorter time before doors, they decided that even more doors would open at the same time! So they took a bad decision and multiplied it, thereby making it even worse! It was absurd. Hopefully they won't be so shortsighted this time, but I thought I should relate this story from the venue here on the forum.
Wow, that's nuts Bill! It baffles me after all these years of concerts that some venues are still clueless. I guess they never heard about the 1980 Who show in Cinncinnati.
Even though I don't think the numbers for this show will be close to what Neil drew, I really hope WBA has reviewed their ga entrance policy, and made some changes.
Did you end up making it to the front ga, and did they wrist band those on the floor? It sounds like with that mad dash they probably didn't. With it being limited to the first 2,000 for this, perhaps they have learned from past shows. Hopefully that's the case, and they limit the amount of doors also.
so does that mean after the 2000 wristbands are given out, the rest of us with GA tickets get to choose any seat we want in the venue? how are they gonna be able to keep that straight? this sounds like a clusterfuck in the making...but I kinda wouldn't mind having a seat if it's close

It's my understanding the whole arena is ga including the seats, with the floor limited to 2,000. If you were to try and purchase tix now there are two options; ga standing, and ga reserved. The reserved doesn't have a row or seat assigned to it.
Not sure how they're gonna keep the seating straight, but hopefully at doors it's not a total clusterfuck.

Thank you Eric for the heatwave heads up, living in dry heat is a luxury. Perhaps the heat is part of the reasoning for the switch to the indoor venue. Psyched to see you all, glad Kyle is going to make it! Sorry that Yac and many others aren't able to make it but you will be there in spirit. I feel like we should have life size cut outs of Fully and Scosby so Jim feels comfortable. They get this years MVP for frequent rail fans thus far
Val and I will see you all at Barnum Publick!
You got it. I wish the heads up brought a cool front with it, but no such luck. Not sure the reason for the venue switch, but kinda glad it's happened. It woulda been rough hanging out all day in this heat with no cover, and then rocking the rail for hours.
Looking forward to seeing you at Barnum, and paying off my Yankee bet.

Hello all, I live in Bridgeport and just be happy they have moved the show indoors. We have an extreme weather day with the temp. reaching 95 or so, then add an air advisory to that! The main reason they moved inside is because the baseball team people did not want the field damaged because thier season is still going and they thought last week it was going to be rainy. Barnum Publick House is a fine choice. Good people, nice drinks and the food is not crazy expensive but good. For those staying at the Holiday Inn and looking to do something after the show. Things get a little dicey for worthwhile entertainment. You can go back to BPH but around the corner. Fairfield Ave. (which starts across the street from the corner of holiday inn) has three bars/pubs in a row. Murphys Law, Bare (tapas place with dj and Two Boots Pizza(yes, the two boots from NYC) I would personally stay out of Murphy's Law. (very ghetto) Enjoy Bpt but just avoid going down any deserted areas just like in any City. Muckeypup
I wanted to post this for folks driving to the show today.
Last year I saw two shows at WBA. In both cases I parked at the parking garage next door. I didn't have to pay while leaving either time. It may be different tonight but I just wanted to mention that in case folks were trying to decide whether to park there or in one of the 2 lots. They were charging 20 bucks to park in a lot for the Neil Young show last December and I thought well I'd rather pay to park inside than outside but it ended up being free. Hopefully it will be free again tonight.
Morning,
My office is about two miles from the venue and quite frankly I have not done any work today. No focus.
Does anyone have a guesstimate on what time MMJ will take the stage tonight? 7:30?
Also, I have an extra ticket if anyone wants it. I would sell it for 50. It is a print out ticket.
John
Pretty sure they've been going on around 615 each show. Definitely get there wayyy earlier than 7:30 or you will not be a happy camper

Jim and Jeff also joined Bob on stage for an old folk cover of "Let it Shine on Me" looks to be originally by Blind Willie Johnson. The mic Jim and Jeff were sharing didn't work at the beginning of the song, turned up as Jeff was singing his verse, and in time for Jim to kill his verse. Awesome to see Bob finally warming up to them

Was so great to see everyone!
Yes it was Val, and good to have you back on this coast too.
Here's hoping we get some headlining shows before the year is out, and we can all do it again.
Nice write up lacking detail but impressed with MMJ.
