I can't believe that I, Wolof, am the one to create this thread as I am very lazy...anyways got great seats for this, sec 1 row H rt of stage. Who else is with me? C'mon it's a terrible venue but sure to be a good time!

Didn't score seats as great as you,Wolof. Scored pit but was outvoted by the rest of our party.we're bringing our nephew as his HS grad gift so Mrs Pug wanted seats. We also brought him to his first concert a few years back -Flaming Lips at Boston Pavillion.Gotta keep the music addiction going.....

We were at that show as well! As the day draws near we'll try and plan a Jacket lot meetup if possible.
This your only show of the tour wolof? I can only make it to Saratoga and apparently I am lazier than you because there is no roll call thread for that one yet.
Perhaps its in part because I won't be doing any of this tour. If I was, there'd be Roll Calls all over the place. I'm not even sure why I'm here, reading this thread. Sigh...

I respectfully disagree about this being a terrible venue. Great place to catch a show on a summer's eve! Sometimes security can hassle you in the parking lot tailgate if you're not being smart. And traffic is a nightmare getting out, but the actual venue isn't bad.

The venue is OK but it was better before they covered half the lawn with seats. Best option for quick parking and good tailgating is pay one of the neighbors $20 to park on their lawn.

This cannot be stated enough. Over the past 4-5 years, the security at this venue has been horrific. Riding around on bikes, making people pour their beer out. And plan on a solid 2 hours getting out of the lot. I'm not sure what happened, but security really ruined the tailgate scene. I heard it was because they wanted people inside the venue, drinking $7 beers. I'm all set with that.
Maybe I just hate big venues but it's toooooo big, a $7 beer is a deal try more like 9-10, the massive pillars obstruct viewing, the lawn is a joke (get ready to watch a shitty screen and deal with drunken douches who prob also did nitros before coming in) the security is the worst I've ever come across at a show and the parking is horrendous.
Anyhow I'm pretty excited for this lineup!
Im gonna try like hell, its only 3 hours? Damn, this is the best bill ever!
I may have an extra ticket or two to this show. Please PM if interested and I'll keep you posted. I have seats in Section 1 row BB and Section 2 Row W (I think I'll be using those ) Can't wait for this one...I'm still suffering a show hangover from New Years Eve.

Well, now that our move to Iowa is the END of July, maybe I'll grab a lawn ticket to this thing, and hope it doesn't rain! Small consolation for missing Newport, but what can ya do?

Bridgeport CT is Friday the 19th. It's only a couple more hours south. hell, you could probably train it for a decent rate from a few New England stations.
A Ga ticket will get you anywhere you want on the field, including the rail if you want to try for it.

Appreciate the thought, and I rarely avoid the GA pit, but this is about saving money. The move is putting a hurt on finances, so if I catch any stop on this tour, it'll have to be in steerage.

Thanks, Jenn. Wish you could join me. Great Woods, Tweeter Center, Comcast Center, whatever you call it, I did see some great stuff there. I've also experienced some pretty awful stuff in Mansfield. I just hate these types of venues.

I have some flexibility, so if someone wants to suggest a time they expect to arrive, I'll shoot for the same time. Its just me, so once I'm there, we can text location. Do you want to try to meet in the venue or in the lot? As much as I hate the high cost of venue beers, the Comcast Center parking lot sucks ass. Anyone know when doors open? 4pm?

Either way is fine, I'll prob get there an hr or so before gates. I am also going with Alexis and my buddy Ryan. We got 2nd or 3rd row I think to the rt of the stage. If its anything like when MMJ opened for Tom Petty at that venue it'll be near empty ( prob be a few more Jacket fans this time I suspect). Still, we could prob scoop you u up and get u down with one of our tix for the Jacket set. I pulled this for Pearl Jam many yrs ago there worked like a Charm!

I have one ticket available in Section 1 Row BB. I know the credit card swipe entry is a pain, but I can coordinate meeting/entering with someone. I'll be with a few friends and i'll obviously sell the ticket for the exact face value.
Potential for severe thunderstorms; hail and damaging winds possible. Sweet
Yeah, I was gonna do lawn or hope for a cheap seat last minute, but saw the weather and opted for Section 6 Row T, the closest covered center seat that wasn't $100+.
I'm seriously struggling with whether or not to blow town before Dylan, though. I think, if I stay for one or two songs, I'll stay for the whole thing, but...
It would be nice to beat the nightmare traffic that comes from this venue (1+ hours to get out of the lot!). If I leave before Dylan comes on, I'll have closure, a mighty nice double bill (I have no idea who Ryan Bingham is and no time to find out).
If something amazing happens, it will be filed in the "I wish I was there" folder, which is REALLY big. But, I recently listened to Masters of War from a live 1963 vinyl and realized I was listening to a performance of MoW that was 50 years old! I don't think we've seen MoW in Dylan's setlist during this tour, but I just might have to stay. Or maybe not...
I hear ya John. I was thinking of staying to watch a few Dylan songs and head out. However with Jim and Jeff possibly coming out it will be tough to leave. Also I don't think traffic will be too bad considering how many open seats are stil left...

I would be in place for MMJ by 6pm.
The schedule has been pretty much the same throughout the tour...
4:30 doors open
5:30 Bingham for 30 minutes
6:15 My Morning Jacket for 75 minutes
7:55 Wilco for 75 minutes
9:35 Dylan for 90 minutes
Thanks for posting those set times. I thought for sure MMJ would be after Wilco and since I'm somewhat meh about Wilco, I might have made a crucial error.
Just a heads up, the Comcast Center Facebook page posted the following schedule (looks like MMJ will be going on a bit earlier)
Doors open at 5pm Ryan Bingham from 5:15-5:45, My Morning Jacket from 6-7:15, Wilco from 7:40-8:55 and Bob Dylan & His Band from 9:20-11pm.
Enjoy the show tonight everyone. I Wish I had given some more thought to this when the shows went onsale, and continued my road trip right on up there and join the Massholes for this, but just going to have to do that next time.
Enjoy, and here's hoping you guys get a killer show.
Off the top of my head in no particular order
The dark (opener)
First light
Circuital
Slow tune

OTR cut. Killer show.

Holy crap. Would be so excited to see "Don't Do It" in Irvine.
Also mmj joined wilco and covered the beatles within you without you
Nah it was tomorrow never knows. Unreal
It was spectacular, whatever you call it.
How was Dylan? I bailed and just got home...
I love how the set list above says Manchester instead of Mansfield haha. No offense to Dylan and Wilco but I wish Jacket just played the whole night, everything was a huge step down after them. Bob was tough to watch Johnny, just as I remembered from 2004, but there was this lightning storm passing right through during the first 6 or 7 songs that actually made the atmosphere with him really cool. Highlights for me were definitely The Dark, It Beats 4 U, Dondante and Don't Do It. The best (and longest) rendition of Dondante I've ever had the privilege of hearing them play. Don't Do It just blew me away, my favorite song by The Band and one of my favorite songs in general. If I'm not mistaken I don't think they've ever played that one before? It made for an unforgettable birthday, thank you!
Whoa, what a set! I had a feeling "Don't Do It" might work it's way into the rotation after the SuperJam. These sets just keep getting better as this tour rolls on.

Amazing setlist. I'm sure slow slow tune into Dondante was amazing. I need more first hand accounTs of that combo! Did they break the music between songs or transition WO stopping?
Love the weird sets such as this one. Off the record is always amazing and Don't Do It followed by magheeta to close. Impressive.

Dondante was epic and the likely reason they had to cut Off The Record. I love Slow Slow Tune and they nailed an extra-slow rendition. Only 10 songs plus end of Run Thru, but a most satisfying 75 minutes.

Didn't catch that OTR was cut. Thanks! I attended two if these shows and was amazed at how satisfying these 75 minute sets have been.
wilco's setlist
Airline to Heaven
Remember the Mountain Bed
Muzzle of Bees
Should've Been in Love
Impossible Germany
Less Than You Think
Art of Almost
Via Chicago
Whole Love
Box Full of Letters
Dawned on Me
Born Alone
Tomorrow Never Knows (with My Morning Jacket)
I'm not really a fan of Wilco, I had to find out the name of this song from the guy sitting behind me, but the performance of Impossible Germany was awesome. Gotta give it up to them on that one, a highlight from the festival for sure.
yeah, this was my first real exposure to wilco. thought the end jam on germany was impressive. also liked via and art of almost. the rest would probably grow on me. i need to see a full show.
now that i've had some sleep.......
jacket......
for whatever reason i had read the darien setlist as having a the dark opener so i was completely blindsided by it. the first light was one of the better versions i've seen. really tight. hit all the marks and worked really well. circuital is circuital....but it was nice seeing it in a diff spot. it beats is always a fav for me. slow slow was well played, but i think it's a tough tune for a festie list. in the midst of a longer show i think it works really well, but with a short set.....not so much imo. i kinda called the dante and was pumped to see it. def surprised they stretched it out as much as they did. long intro and then the nice spacy jam at the end. when vd started up i figured it was the beginning of the end since it has generally marked the first of the last 3 tunes on this tour. at that point i was thinking the setlist was gonna turn out fairly vanilla (no deep cuts/no sit-ins) end of run through could have been better imo if they transitioned into it, but the hard end to vd and hard start of run thru was awkward. wordless....thinking "ok one more tune. maybe a gideon and they're out."......but noooooooo........DON'T DO IT! they absolutely killed it. by far my fav band tune and they just fucking nailed it. so good. figured that was it.......but nooooooo....geetah to close. didn't see that coming either. show ended and i had a huge smile on my face.
the tnk w/ wilco was really impressive as well. i know we could see jim and carl out there. patrick was standing on the side of the riser playing some sort of percussion. seemed like one or two others were out there but couldn't tell. think john mentioned he could see bo. the tune itself is so layered that having that many people on stage worked really well. it sounded huge, full and loud. loved it.
dylan? *sigh*
i left during tangled up.
first three songs he's just standing on stage like sinatra. playing nothing. too much new material that i think is fairly boring to begin with. hadn't seen him since '87 and doubt i'll see him again.
had a blast hanging out with yac as usual. gonna miss my fellow nh jacket fanatic. met a bunch of other boardies and it was great to put some faces to names. hope to see you all at some shows in the future.
