BUMP IT UP!
Less than 3 weeks to go!
I'll be there with three other people in the balcony. First show since Holyoke in 2010! Although I did see Jim solo a little over a week ago, an exact month before this show in fact.

Hi all. I've been a member here for nearly 5 years but am primarily a lurker. Don't think I've posted in over a year, but still love this community and the interest and discussion it fosters.
I'm bringing some friends down from Montreal, Canada for this. Four of them have never seen the Jacket or Wilco (and none of us have seen Bob!)
This is my first Jacket show since the Circuital 2011 tour and I am pumped! (saw Jim in April to tide me over). We are sitting in the balcony towards the center-back, don't have the exact section handy.
I am looking for someone who can hook us up with some GREEN for the show.
I hooked up a pair of fine boardmembers from Detroit when they came up to Montreal in 2011, and nothing would please me more than having the same courtesy available on your side of the border! I promise I won't pay you in Canadian dollars.
If anybody is able to help me out, please shoot me a PM. Looking forward to this awesome amphitheater and once-in-a-lifetime lineup!!!
Anybody have any suggestions for daytime activities in Saratoga Springs earlier in the day? Cheers!
Can we get some I Will Sing You Songs or Highly Suspicious at this one?
I'm trying to go into this without any expectations for the setlist. Though short, pretty much every setlist so far on this tour would be satisfying to me, and since they haven't followed too much of a standard format... I'm just hoping to be surprised!
Who is the opening act on this leg? Thanks!
starting to consider trying to make this one. would be tough to pull off for me, but i don't think one is gonna be enough.
I'd also settle to hear Dancefloors and a OBH opener

I'd personally like to hear "Phone Went West", "Oh Sweet Nuthin'" and pretty much anything off The Tennessee Fire. Plus a Wilco collaboration. Not holding out for any collaborations with Dylan.
Can we get a rally going for OBH opener?

Now I'm holding out for a Dylan collaboration. And I could go for a OBH opening, not sure how to get that though.
Had tickets in section 6 from LN
Called them this morning and upgraded to the pit.
Pretty excited about it
Sunday
2 pit tickets available for face value--I believe they are right under $100 with fees
I will be there and can meet up with you prior to the show

Was able to get pit for this one so I'm pretty pumped. Even though a short set, the setlists have been pretty good and looking forward to it. I've never been able to get into Wilco but everyone says how good they are live so it will be good to see what that is all about and I've never seen Dylan so excited about that. Hopefully there will be some more Wilco/MMJ collaborations and I see Dylan finally brought some guests out the other night.
OBH OPENER
I am driving down from Montreal in a few hours, for the whole weekend!
SO PUMPED!!
Groove with ya'll soon!
Today!
Have fun everyone. Just a reminder that this is opening weekend for the big horse track in town so expect downtown to be a bit more crowded if you head there for some pre/post beers.
Pulling for a TIWCWY opener

Thanks for posting the setlist. Good to see Masterplan getting played a decent amount this tour. It was one of the highlights of the Bridgeport show for me.
I think MMJ came out and did Chest Fever with Wilco. Man I hope some of this awesome shit happens next weekend.

You're such a tease. Are you or aren't you?
I was proud of section 7 at SPAC. There were at least 10 people standing in my section during MMJ's set. Way to represent. During Steam Engine and Old Sept, the crowd was pretty dead but Circuital got people moving and clapping and cheering. The workers at SPAC were being MEGA camera nazis. I have never seen it that bad before. I found myself spending most of my time watching the workers yell at people rather than watching MMJ. By the end of the set there were a decent amount of people standing and cheering. I can't imagine that Anytime was the planned closer... maybe. Seemed to be missing that epic closer like Phone or Magheetah or OBH. I was surprised how quickly my interest dwindled after MMJ left the stage. I'm not a Wilco hater but I just can't really get into them. Having said that their set was pretty good and I enjoyed Garth Hudson. By the time Bob came out I was pretty much ready to leave. Not to disrespect the legend but his voice was awful and I swear during the first couple of songs none of the sounds he made were actually words. It sounded like the sound your stomach makes when it is hungry, but coming out of his mouth. It pissed me off to see the people who yelled at the MMJ and Wilco fans to sit down earlier, now standing and trying to dance to what was going on....while people behind them were still sitting. The mix of older Dylan fans and younger MMJ/Wilco fans didn't work out very well in my opinion. If I ever go to something like this again, I'll just stick to lawn tickets as I honestly don't feel like it was worth the $96/ticket for the pretty junky roll call seats I got. The people in the section behind me upgraded their lawn tix to pavilion tix for an additional 10 bucks. So they spent $60 less than me to sit right behind me. I'm trying to put a positive spin on it but between the stubborn fans everywhere, the camera nazis, it being a sunday night and knowing I had to wake up at 5 the next morning, the $11 beers, the short rushed sets and Bob's hungry tummy voice I just can't really say I enjoyed it as a whole. There were certainly highlights but I have definitely had more pleasant concert experiences. Maybe it was just where I was sitting. Curious to see what the other SPAC attendees thought about it...
I thought it was a pretty great show. I was on the lawn though, no way I was spending $96 to sit inside & deal with that. I had a pretty good glow on by the time Dylan came on, so I enjoyed it. I did however find those "cheap" $9.75 draughts. MMJ killed it as usual even w/ a less than stellar crowd. WILCO was very good, it would have been nice if Dylan allowed the big screens to be used for the people on the lawn who couldn't see the stage.

Thanks for the recap, Joey! Felt the same way about Dylan but out of respect don't want to post too much. Wilco fans took up the whole rail in CT and were on their phones during MMJ's set. (I love Wilco, no reflection on the band). I think it was a weird mix of a crowd.
The only thing weirder was that Black Crowes/Oasis/Spacehog brotherly love tour that summer! I'm totally dating myself but remember?!

honestly thought more wilco fans would be MMJ fans are vice versa.. I know I'm massive fans of both.
This idea was flawed from day one. As good as these shows may have been, somebody`s walkin away unhappy. I love MMJ, like Wilco and remember Dylan when he was young and dangerous. There`s a reason why The Who and Led Zep never opened for Elvis in 1975.

I'm going to enjoy the show BUT I can see why some people would walk away unhappy. The idea sounds great on paper but in reality not as much.
It's funny, at Solid Sound you were knee-deep in Wilco fans but the vibe there was very much the vibe I get from fans at Jacket shows. And I talked to a lot of people with deep love for MMJ. Still, the mix of the crowd at Saturday's show was weird. I know I pissed off some people, being up and jammin' out during MMJ's set.
I just wanna say that I had a GREAT time at Americanarama SPAC. Like, top 5 concert experiences of my life.
Perhaps it was because it was my first time at SPAC and I was incredibly impressed by the design and maintenance of the facility. They really know what they're doing there, and the entire area is beautiful, which put me in a great mood from the outset. We had great seats in the center of the balcony. For variety's sake, it was nice to be able to to take a break from inside and watch from the back of the lawn later on in the night for some open-air moonlit Dylan.
I thoroughly enjoyed MMJ's set. I tried go into it without any expectations and just hoping to be surprised. The Steam Engine open into Old September Blues was a definitely nice surprise. From there, they just really rocked it for the rest of the set. I'm not sure I've ever seen Carl headbang and jump around so much.
I feel like MMJ has sort-of embraced their slot as the "comparitively younger, hungrier band" on this tour, and has filled those shoes by just banging it out and having fun. I'm totally OK with the line-up order. I thought it felt like MMJ had said "well, the audience is half-full and half them have never heard of us, so let's just blow them away with some rock purity!"
Even though I would have gladly taken a PWW or similar epic closer, I really enjoyed them wrapping it up with speedy Z shredders. MMJ felt young. MMJ felt loose. I enjoyed the contrast that this created next to Wilco, who felt like more subdued vets with less to prove.
No doubt, Wilco's set was the hilight though-- specifically the run with Garth Hudson. He received a LEGENDARY ovation, and it was one of those concert moments that just touches everyone in the audience's heart. Jim and Jeff singing Chest Fever was the best part of the night, but it was because of Mr. Hudson's magic that he brought to the stage. Despite moving slowly and taking a good minute to prop himself up on a stool, he played with amazing swagger and intensity. A real living legend.
I had lowered my expectations for Bob, based on what I've heard of his performances in recent years. In spite of that, I was actually surprised and impressed. He "performed" and seemed to be really enjoying himself, which was nice. It is strange hearing his nearly un-recognizable rearrangements of classic tunes though.
Great show and worth the drive down from Montreal. Hope everybody else had as good a time as me!
