Whatchtower. 1st off you lucky fucker. How'd you score a pic with lord Stanley's cup so fast ? I plan on riding my Milwaukee vibrator to the show with an old buddy. You guys got seats or lawn ?

I was going to take my son to this as his first show, but I changed my mind, folks. I've seen Bob Dylan, MMJ, and Wilco a combined 22 times...and Robert Plant and Refugee All Stars of Sierra Leone are in town the same weekend, so I am going to take him to those instead! I'll see you, John and Kenny when you get back from Cali though, Mama Meek! Love you and hope you're having so much fun!
I understand Mama Kel..........Seen Robert Plant already - lol with Zeppelin. In fact, it was 35 years ago June 27th that I saw Zeppelin at the Englewood forum in Los Angeles which is no longer there.
Hope you saw my text and can make it next weekend!
Just a heads up roll call peeps. Me and my gang will be tailgating at toyota park before the show.
If anyone would like to join us, let me know. Or, you can look for the dark forest green and taupe colored 94 conversion van (by the way, in great condition) with the old hippies and a couple of our kids as well!!
Does anyone know how far back the ga pit goes? If you were to be at the very back of ga would that still be pretty decent? Thanks

Anywhere in GA looks good to me from what I can tell from the site and pictures of previous shows. but you never know. I guess it depends on how many GA tickets were sold.
If you are in the stands though, you are out of luck in that you can not go down to the field at all. Also, it does look like Ga is blocked off from the seats as well.
I'm in B3-a few rows in and seats 9/10.

We used the picnic blanket today, Ms. Patti!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I'm so glad!!! I just love your little guy and I am not expert even though I taught pre school, but he's so smart, and a handsome boy to boot!!!
You're a great mom - Mama Kel!!! hope to see you soon
Does anyone know when MMJ will be getting on stage?

I'm not sure - but I read in an interview from a previous Americanarama show that they started about 6:30 and joked about how early it was when Jim said "good morning" to the crowd.

Howdy, Tater... the Facebook Stanley Cup pictures are from 2010, still waiting to kiss it again in 2013. I've got Section A4 through Roll Call for this show, but most friends have GA. I won't mind a place to sit in between sets though. I'm still thinking of taking the Reggie's Rock Bus to the show, which leaves at 5pm. I'm hoping this gives plenty of time to get there for Jacket. :undecided:
Not a Roll Caller any more, but I'll be there +2. No pics for this one, unfortunately. Thank Dylan for that.
I WILL be there...cannot wait!!!

I will be taking this performance in from GA/Pit. Wilco's too. After that it'll be like doing laundry at a coin operated landromat, except instead of quarters, the length of my stay will be determined on a song-by-song basis.
I'm curious about Wilco because I just recently began listening to them (Yankee & Ghost in particular), but I have a hard time imagining their material translate into a mind-blowing live experience. Beyond Yankee & Ghost, their material seems incredibly vanilla.

We have an extra ticket for tonight's show. A friend had to go out of town for work at the last minute. Any roll-callers (or others) interested in a face value, section B1 ticket?

I haven't seen them; however, I listen to their incredible live album Kicking Television, Live in Chicago all of the time. They seem like they would be incredible live. They can't touch MMJ in terms of energy or power, but from what I have heard, they can draw you in much the same way MMJ can. I am excited for them. Check out a live version of Impossible Germany and just listen to the epic guitar solo.

Your ass is about to get your panties rocked off, son...just wait
I have a feeling when you post here after the wilco show your opinion that wilco doesn't bring as much energy and power will be changed...I'm pretty sure I agree with the point you are trying to make, it's a different kind of experience from the jacket...but the energy and power are there for sure, they just present themselves in different ways, I hope that makes sense, I think you will agree with me after you watch their show
Nope. I'm here. They're vanilla.

I have to agree. You know that while I liked Wilco, I was kind of meh about seeing them. I enjoyed them greatly. They paired perfectly with Jacket.
I can understand Wilco not being someone's cup of tea, so to speak, but to say they are vanilla I feel is just kind of an ignorant statement.
Opinions are opinions so I mean no disrespect, but whether you like them or not I don't know anyone that's ever described them as "vanilla" or more appropriately, boring, which is what you are getting at.
Slow slow tune again. That song has been getting a lotta love  this summer.
Totally disagree with wilco being boring.. Equal fav band or me and their live show is fantastic.

Vanilla is fucking delicious, then.
Still another opinion. ....
I just can't get into wilco, and I've listened for many years and saw them in Indy last week. Nothing terrible to write about them , I just don't see why most folks rate them so high.
I think Tweedy is rather vanilla- to use tippietoes22 word. Nels is good, but definitely not anywhere near the top of my list of guitarists I wanna listen to.
1 eyed_Jack - boring may not describe them, but here's a couple of similar views posted in last few days, just on the How big have the crowds been for Americanarama?thread.
rusty95 - "Wilco about put me to sleep "
Jon T. - "As excited as I was to see Wilco, after MMJ's set they became kind of an afterthought to me. "
 To each his own......

This is a MMJ board. I get you get similar sentiments about MMJ on a Wilco board.
Ps I also love vanilla.
I Luv Chocolate- vanilla is just not as good! Imo
Lately, I've had a taste for cinnamon. Hoping for something memorable in Mansfield.

I love Wilco and I loved their set; however, it's not fair for them (or anyone for the matter) to play after My Morning Jacket. The energy level is too high for Wilco to attempt to sustain.
You are absolutely right, it is a much different experience from the Jacket. It was incredible and I plan on seeing them again. When Wilco hit a solid groove, it is nothing short of magic. Jacket always seem to have that.

My thoughts exactly. Its great to see them pull songs like that out for this tour.
What a great day all around. From the bitchin tailgating with perfect weather and cold water to getting into the pit since the idiots at Toyota park just up and took away section B3. So it was either up in the stands which was bullshit or in the pit!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Patrick though, I think the sun was in his eyes during the show. That being said, the smell of smoke and cool beer and water while watching and dancing to my favorite band was the best!
I just love watching Jacket fans since they look so happy during the shows, dancing, smiling, hugging and talking with strangers exchanging happy words about the band.
Plus... I called it. Master Plan, Golden were my 2 wish songs. And I got to hear both!!!!
