I can't confirm a 2014 Futurebirds release but they have posted 2-3 pics of them currently in the studio working on "LP3" on facebook
I have no clue what's supposed to come out next year other than Hard Working Americans, but I'll definitely be picking that up. Oh wait, as I type this I remembered that Diamond Rugs finished their album so that's another.

Glad you liked it Scotty, I saw their former band the Slip close to 30 times when they were active. They may be the best musicians I've ever seen play live. I am not kidding about that. Andrew Barr is hands down the best drummer I've ever heard and definitely the most underrated.
I have seen the Barr Brothers twice. Simply amazing. The first time was early an early show for the band. The second time they were a completely functioning unit and it was glorious. If you get a chance to see them do not pass it up!

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere when the last album was somewhat new how they were 2/3rds (IIRC) of The Slip. Never saw them but remember them from my jam band heavy days of the early-mid 2000's and liked what I heard. I think I actually had a bootleg or 2 of theirs.
Loved Beggar In The Morning and Give The Devil Back His Heart from first listen, both on the radio actually, and both those type of songs when you hear on the radio and gotta track down who it is - if they dont mention it. One of my favorite things about the indie station down here is that they say the band and song after every song. Quite convenient.

I saw the Slip in '06 when they opened for MMJ. Didn't know anything about them but loved them. Made a point of seeing them headline a few years later. I'll check out the Barr Brothers as they slipped off my radar.

I will definitely give it a try......
Tops for me is Rich Robinson - The Ceaseless Sight http://richrobinson.net/ (http://richrobinson.net/) and the new My Morning Jacket, of course.
Tentatively anticipating the new Marc Ford, hoping its not born again Christian crap. I'm hearing good things, Phantom Limb is the backing band.
Is it well known that Wilco will release a new record this year or just speculation?
Mostly I want to see all three of these bands live!
Explosions and Eluvium are teaming up for what will probably be an awesomely weird instrumental album this April:

Woods will have a new album out this spring followed by a tour. I'm looking forward to that.
Phantogram's "Voices" will be released in mid-February, and the first couple of singles that have been released are excellent.

Prince's new one, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, just shot up the list. Apparently it was recorded completely live and songs titles include, PRETZELBODYLOGIC, Skrewdriver, and Funk n' Roll. I'm excited
