Hello Everyone,
I recorded the MMJ show at the Ryman Auditorium: Nashville, TN. on November 13, 2006. The recording is available at Live Music Archive:
http://www.archive.org/details/mmj2006-11-13
The show is posted in lossless (.shn) format only - so, if you have a slow computer or do not have the software to decode - I would be more than happy to offer up a few B&P's to those that are interested.
I think the recording turned out very well - and have not seen any alternate recording surface yet. Maybe something better will come along - but unti then, this recording makes a great souvenir of a fantastic performance.
Please send me a PM for information on the B&P.
Have a great day!
Chuck

Just download and convert. this guys got the right idea though, mp3s should be for personal use only and only lossless should be traded... that's the norm with other circles.
I will download it when I get home and I usually convert to mp3 for ipod use and I can upload it and send you a sendspace link if you like.

I generally agree with you, however a mini disc source would not be a "lossless" source though...

Is that where I would use the word, Touche`?
Good point indeed.
Glad I can help spread the music. It sure was a fun show!
I used a HI-MD recorder in Linear PCM WAV mode (1GB disc) which is a lossless format. It was my first attempt with this machine and I'm still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles.

Yea, I looked at your setup a few minutes ago and was trying to determine if the Hi-MD was lossless as it seems as it is with the PCM...
That looks like a nice little recorder, I look forward to hearing the recording, thanks for the lossless show!
for the love of God someone help me figure out how to hear these songs. (I am computerly challenged)
I can download, no problem, do it all the time.
I got 2 diffrent converters that I have used succesfully in the past:
1 is SoftSound which will compress or decompress. When I try to compress one of the tracks, I get this msg>>>
input file is not a valid RIFF WAVE file
2 is FairStairs Audio Converter but I am unalbe to locate downloaded files from the Ryman show.
Help the challenged!!!
I think you need to download a shn. plugin for your media player. Just type in "shorten" or "shn. file" in the search engine and you should be able to download a plugin to install for your particular media player.
I think this will play and convert...

It sounds fucking beautiful. You have brought tears to my eyes. :-*
Glad you could download it with no problem.
It's fun to listen to the show all over again and relive those incredible moments.
Happy Holidays.
