Title: Top 10 Shows/Events
Post by: vwxg14a on Apr 25, 2014, 12:10 PM
I was thinking after the One Big Holiday Event, what would be the list of the most Important/Unique shows that someone coulda/woulda/shoulda been there.

In no particular order

OBH - 2014
Bonnaroo - 2008
Filmore/Okonokos - 2005
Athens/Prom - 2007
Louisville/Unstaged - 2011
NYC/Conan - 2003
Boston/Boston Pops - 2006
Radio City - 2008
MSG-NYE - 2008/2009
Louisville/Harvest Showcase - 1999

Anyone concur?

Gotta have T5 in there for sure.

Can't forget about that Ramble at Levon's either.

That whole week was magical.

Lolla 2007 with the Chicago kids symphony was unique.  Maybe it was due to where I was standing in such a large field, but I couldn't hear the symphony so well.  But Move On Up was killer!

Since Radio City 08' was my first show, it will always be the most special. But between Bonnaroo, Red Rocks, Sasquatch, T5, Port Chester, and Boston NYE, impossible to make a list.

Sorry... But I have to put 2006 Bonnaroo over 2008.  They were both GREAT, but if your only gonna put 1 Bonnaroo on there, I must say its '06!!!

Radio City 08 was also my first show and it'll be hard to ever top! My god!
T5 I only went to At Dawn but it ranks very high as well: best PWW ever!!!
And Forecastle 2012 was a hell of a show!
Those would be the top 3 of the shows I went to.
Terminal 5 should be on the list though, just for the concept of the whole run alone.

I hear ya. We had to cancel last minute because our dog fell ill right before we were scheduled to leave for T5. There is no way were going after she got sick, but it still kills me that we had to miss it.

I have to agree about Bonnaroo 2006.  I saw them there in 05, 06, 08 and I thought they were all great, but their show in 06 was one of the best shows I've ever seen anyone play.

How has Bonnaroo '04 not come up yet? It's even got a cool nickname and everything. They summoned a hurricane to relieve the oppressive heat in mid-afternoon and have honestly never sounded better that I've heard. It didn't have the epic length and covers of later Bonnaroo years, but it was perfect.

'05 was fun, too, with the giant puppets and all, but it took a while for the band to really warm up.
