So what is up with the excursions for OBH. It's been saying for a while now they are going to update the full list.
Where is it?
Last year the excursions were announced on 12/23 and I would anticipate a simular roll out this year.
Yeah, and I'm eager for the Activity list/schedule.

That's good to know. Thanks.
The excursions last year were ok hardly sensational.
I would have rather endured a time share pitch for two of them
Yeah, I'm not big on the excursions. In the end, I'm much happier limiting my schedule and doinga whole lot of nothing. We've done a few Cloud9 trips and I'm done with excursions. I had fun at one of the golf tournaments, but then last year I just blew it off even though I had signed up. I let them keep my resort credits for it as it went towards charity. Granted I'm traveling with my wife and kids and I'd rather spend time with them. If I was solo it may very well be different.
will cloud9 or the resort post what exactly you can get for your resort credits? Or do we just find out upon arrival?
SCUBA was awesome - the rest seemed meh
resort credits can be used for pretty much everything at the resort - premium booze (wine at dinners, etc), spa, merchandise, etc. Just keep in mind that you'll be billed about 20% for the credits you use

There is a specific merchandise store for resort credits. You can't use your resort credits for all merch. I've gotten a lot of answers from emailing the resort. Here is the email from the woman who communicated with for OBH1. Not sure if it's still valid but worth trying.

You can't use resort credits for the cloud9 excursions. The Hard Rock had one (maybe two) excursions that they ran last year, but they didn't look as good as the cloud9 options. I didn't go on any because we were happy hanging at the resort. I'm learning towards trying an excursion this time to experience some things off property. But gluv said that he's done with excursions so I'm thinking they might not have been so great.
I think the Hard Rock website indicates what you can use the credits for (their excursions, massage, facial, spa, stores on the property, higher end drinks).
It's really about me being on vacation with my family. I've spent a ton of money for 2 rooms and 7 of us. I'm happy to stay at the hard rock with my fam. I do love Tulum, esp the ruins. My wife and I were married in Tulum. I like some of the options like the cenotes, but I would really only jump on one of those if it was just me or just me and the wife. We've talked a lot about participating in the Positive Legacy day of service, but again it's too much with our whole fam. We just donate instead. I think it's somewhat of a cop out, but it's just oo much for us. Last year I used my credits for the Positive Legacy golf tournament, but then never went. I just donated my resort credits for the cause. As far as what is offered, I LOVE Playa del Carmen and we will most likely drag the family into town but we will have our own van. It's cheaper for us to rent a van for the week then to use some of the other transportation options.
I think we are going to do Rio Secreto. Reviews and pictures on google look awesome.
pretty excited about the turtle snorkeling excursion!
does anyone have any good underwater camera recommendations? was looking at a few of those waterproof cases for your phone on amazon and they seem to work just as well!
We got the Secreto excursion and that is all. Figured it would be pretty cool.

come w/ us on the Mayan Temple/Grand Cenote trip, Adam!
I'm a little confused by some of the talk on here. One person claims that they used resort credits to sign up for the Golf Tourny last year and another claims that those credits can only be used for Hard Rock excursions. So which is it?
And wait...
resort credits can be used for pretty much everything at the resort - premium booze (wine at dinners, etc), spa, merchandise, etc.
...so my girlfriend and I are paying $800 per day to drink rail liquors? Please tell me this isn't the case.
no info on the theme night(s)?
I've been curious myself. Nothing on Activities or Themes yet. Maybe now that a couple of back-to-back C9 excursions have completed they'll have time to organize for OBH2. They just had Strings & Sol at one resort immediately followed by Closer to the Sun at another resort. I'm sure those logistics are difficult. Does anyone remember when these things were announced for OBH2?

Lady I talked to on the phone said they are going to be updating everything after the Panic excursion. Not sure if that is one of the ones you mentioned just ending.

They can be used for Golf and Hard Rock excursions. Not sure of the logistics of paying for golf with credits, I guess you would have to sign up when you get there.
Not sure about the liquor but would be interested in hearing from someone who went last year.

Panic en la playa ends Juanuary 28. That should give everyone plenty of time to plan. Brilliant.
Are we sure groundctrl is putting this thing on?

Stevie - booze is generally free everywhere and all day long. Most rooms have booze dispensers too. My point was that you can use resort credits to pay for high end wine off the lists at dinner (these cost more).
Regarding rail drinks - imagine standing amidst 2,500 of your best pals watching Jacket and there's a waiter that keeps bringing you trays full of your favorite beverage. It's that good

Yeah, they must have meant one of the other excursions cause like walter said Panic ends the 28th. Their crew will be flying directly from the DR to Mexico to get to OBH. When was your conversation with C9? I would imaging they were referring to one of the other ones that just ended, most likely Closer to the Sun which was Slightly Stupid (more then slightly in my book  ) and some other bands.

Garrett, we'll have to agree to disagree on Slightly Stoopid. Those guys are great.
Fair enough. I'm not one to fight about bands. I hate the "my band is better then your band" arguments. You like what you like.

no reason to feel bad - unless you fail to train your liver over the next 38 days.....in which case, you might wake up feeling bad ;)
No reason to feel bad Stevie. Justin's quote in 12/23 post sums it up perfectly..... "It's that good."

Sorry. After they update everything for the panic excursion. I misunderstood.
