I re-upped roll call last summer for 18 months. Now there is a "deluxe" roll-call membership? Isn't that what I got? I did get the 7" a short while ago, but there is also this:
• One free live show redemption code*
• Roll Call "First Entry" laminate allowing first entry for all applicable shows
• Roll Call exclusive t-shirt
• Roll Call exclusive poster
Am I getting those as well? Ground Ctrl at it's finest... :embarrassed:
Wondering about this too.
Add me to the confusion list as well. I'll have to check when I get home, but when I got the 2014 7" the other day, I think it came with a list of undelivered 2015 items.
just fished around for this email: info@groundctrl.com
email them with your questions, I'm about to. Hopefully if they get a wave of concern they'll answer us sooner
According to one event link I clicked on " any active memberships purchased prior to the 2015 membership will have access to presale tickets at the same time as the Deluxe buyers (10am - local market time)."
This is good. However it's a bummer that I'd have to buy another Roll Call membership to get the latest batch of goodies: shirt, poster, download code. My current membership is good until Jan. 2016

I don't think you have to buy another one, it was originally sold to us as it would include all the stuff this year as well, thats why I purchased it. I could be wrong but I think we are still good with this batch as well.
Roll Call has my head spinning at this point. I have no idea what the fuck is going on. I'm good till August this year but what about those new goodies?!
A question for those who have done roll call in the past: What is the ticket allotment like during the presale? Are they mostly good seats or kind of just scattered around the venue?
Thanks.
Is Roll Call worth it if I'm only going to one show? Are the tickets significantly better than what I can get during the public onsale? Got a baby coming sometime this week so I think my traveling to shows is going to be very limited - only looking to hit the one in my hometown (STL).
Hey Everyone!
New to the Forum and just joined Roll Call. When will I get the download code?
Pumped for ATL and BHM shows!
I just purchased a roll call membership with a preorder of the new album. now, how do I get into all the roll call pages? Do I have to wait for the access code to come in the mail? Am I supposed to be sent something by email? WTF did I just pay for since I don't have access to any of this stuff?
Edit: my membership says it expired on 5/10/2012... WTH man!
I submitted a ticket with ground-ctrl/wonderful union... whatever the heck they are now. Hopefully they can get me sorted out.
Edit 2: I received the following email from ground ctrl:
"If you purchased a membership from mymorningjacket.shopfirebrand.com you will be sent an email Friday, March 6th with a redemption code that you will be able to use to activate your fan club membership. We recommend redeeming the code and familiarizing yourself with the site as soon as you can so you will be ready for the pre-sale."
Nevermind - missed the parcel shipping option.
my membership says i'm good until 5/25/2016.
What does the free live show mean? Is that a free ticket to a show of your choosing or is it a yet-to-be-announced ticket to a show for everyone?

Maybe I am missing it in the FAQ, but can we get clarification on the merch...
I get that those of us who purchased the 2014/2015 18 month membership have the same 10am pre-sale access as the deluxe memberships being sold with the album preorder. Do we get the other goods (shirt, poster, etc.) that come with the deluxe option or will we need to purchase the deluxe option? Will the 2014/2015 members get the same options when it comes to VIP packages as the deluxe members?
I have no idea what's going on with Roll Call. I've been a member since it started and I never get any sort of information from them on what's going on. Bought the first membership when it launched, apparently it expired and I re-upped right before the original OBH and haven't heard anything from them since (no "you're roll call has expired" etc.) and I've never received a 7". At one point you were supposed to be getting exclusive downloads periodically and I got one when I first signed up and that was it.
Ground Control runs "fan clubs" for lots of bands and seems like it's just a commodity they manage. Kind of bummed that the band has outsourced this operation to these folks who don't care if it's MMJ or if it's Justin Bieber vs. doing it themselves or finding someone who actually gives a shit about the artist they're representing.

You would need to purchase the Deluxe option to receive the merch that's included in that bundle. If you have an existing 18 month membership, then you will have the same access as Deluxe members to any available concert tickets or VIPs during the pre-sale.

I totally agree, and can easily see that scenario happening.
If it were me, I'd purchase the Deluxe package get the merch, and just tack that extra year onto the end of my membership, and see what 2016 brings. If this year's laminate will work in 16 then let it ride, if not, buy another new membership, and let that the extra time run out or close to it in the down years when the tours are over.
Oh, and if you do buy the new Deluxe package choose the parcel post option for delivery. It's cheaper.

For reals: I do hope to see you at least a couple times this tour; any plans to come west?
I think this is pretty lame. If you're going to backtrack on the 18-month subscribers the least you could do is give us a discounted option to get the merch. I mean really, at this point what was the purpose of the early renewal at $60!!
I'm still confused - but I only skimmed the information, so I'll go back and re-read. But IF I had know when I re-upped my membership a couple months early last year and that this would now be offered, I might have waited. I like the poster, though!

Got it.
Not to nitpick, but the 18 month membership and the new deluxe membership both come with the 2015 year-end 7" vinyl. I am fine with purchasing the deluxe membership for the 2015 poster, shirt, and laminate since those were not apart of the 18 month membership. It just seems strange that we would be paying twice for the same 2015 7" vinyl.

I COMPLETELY agree. Holy hell, the guys checking the laminates won't understand whats going on.
Ok - last time around, I purchased the extended membership as I recall. If you purchased before a certain date which was around summer 2014, then you received the 7" vinyl and your membership was extended thru the end of 2015. Does this seem correct to anyone who purchased the same membership? My membership on roll call shows I'm up to date until 9/2016. But now, with the deluxe, you get 2015 poster, shirt and laminate that are different I presume? So, it would be nice to get a break on the merchandise. Additionally, at least from my understanding we still get to order tickets at the same time that the deluxe members get. So it seems that maybe the reasoning behind the deluxe is to get new membership and those that may have expired a couple of years ago. :undecided:
Here's what the email said re ordering the 2014/15 Bonus Membership:
"My Morning Jacket is hard at work in the studio recording a brand new album to be released in early 2015. With the band busy devoting time to their studio efforts we won't be offering a plethora of Roll Call specific events before 2015. However, we are offering something completely new to our fans: Introducing the 2014 Bonus Roll Call Membership!
Purchase a Bonus Roll Call Membership through December 31st, 2014 and your membership will be valid through the end of 2015. You'll receive access to exclusive online content over the next 18 months, two limited edition 7-inch vinyls, Roll Call poster, tee, and laminate. Check the full package details below:
2014/15 Bonus Roll Call Membership
• Exclusive MMJ Roll Call poster
• Exclusive MMJ Roll Call T-shirt
• Exclusive MMJ Roll Call laminate
• 2014 End of the year exclusive MMJ 7" vinyl
• 2015 End of the year exclusive MMJ 7" vinyl
• Exclusive Roll Call Pre-Sale to 2015's 'One Big Holiday'
As a member of Roll Call, you will have access to these exclusive areas of mymorningjacket.com:"
So, the only thing different would be the Tshirt, Poster, and Laminate. Frankly, the only thing I worry about is the laminate, because as we all know even with a current laminate nobody at the venue ever knows what the heck is going on with early entry, whether it's being offered, and even when it's been confirmed that it is offered you have to virtually hunt down people and convince them that you know what you're talking about. (Or in some cases, be given VIP access to an entire weekend event; there are ups and downs to it ;)).
The last two years' laminates don't even have a year on them to indicate when they are active. I predict many headaches for the those of us who purchased Bonus Roll Call.
Wonderful Union seems to be legit, so I wonder if you'll be able to nip this in the bud for us right here. The FAQ page was very helpful, but doesn't answer at all whether or not "Bonus Membership" holders will receive the shirt, poster and laminate for 2015.
I'm getting angrier by the post on this topic. People were getting screwed last year on the bonus membership, because they stopped selling them prior to the date they said they would. I bought mine as soon as the option was available, but it bothers me that other big fans got screwed. Then this topic comes up, gets more confusing by the minute, and nobody seems to be addressing it. The 45 and presales are great and what I want most, but I also covet the screen print and laminate each year. I've been a Roll Call subscriber since the very first one, and I've never felt like they really care and it seems to be getting worse.
Looking back on the invoice for the bonus membership, it's listed just like Vespa wrote above.
It's hard to understand because they specifically listed the 2014 and 2015 45s, but "poster", "T-shirt", and "laminate" are all singular leading me to believe those were only for 2014 and won't be included for 2015. SO if someone in the know can clearly answer what people have been asking this whole time, that would be awesome.
Is there a limit to the number of tickets you can buy via pre-sale?

BTW, I webchatted with WonderfulUnion and raised the possibility of just mailing us only the new laminates. The guy said they can't do that but will check that we won't face any problems on getting early entry with our current laminates.

I'm going to do my best to make that but it's going to depend on whatever other dates if any are announced, and when the SF shows actually are. It's tough for me to take much time off in the Fall but if there's anyway I can, you know I will.
I definitely want to do SF again, and see all my west coast peeps, so hopefully it'll all work out.

A question for those who have done roll call in the past: What is the ticket allotment like during the presale? Are they mostly good seats or kind of just scattered around the venue?
Thanks.
I have never gotten any seats better than a 6.5 on a scale of 10 from roll call. Not bad, but not great by any means.
I have to say I'm very disappointed in all of this. I purchased the 18 month roll call because I was given the impression we would get all of this stuff this year as well.
As a long time member here and someone who has been on Roll Call since the beginning, it feels like we are being moved out of the way for newer fans and we were given the bait and switch.
There was absolutely no reason to buy an 18 month membership looking back and it just feels like we were being used for financial gain with no benefit.
I'll break down and purchase another roll call package, but as a fan can't say how disappointed I am the band would let this happen to folks who have supported them for so many years.

I emailed help@wonderfulunion.com and they confirmed that I would need to purchase the 2015 Deluxe to get the new merch even though I bought the Bonus 2014/2015.
"No, the Roll Call membership you purchased last year does not include the items that are bundled with the new membership. If you would like, you can purchase the new membership and add an additional year onto your current membership along with the merchandise."
Thanks for doing that. I'm happy to have an answer. I'm also happy we still get the pre-sales and the record. I would pay $40 for the poster and the laminate anyway. Does that make me a collector or a sucker?
A collector. Go for it....$40 isn't much in the grand scheme of things. I would do it if I had any wall space for another poster. But with another tour and probably more posters to go along with, that isn't the case. I'm happy with the ticket access that the 18 month membership got us.
Unless Wonderful Union updated their FAQs today, it said the quantity of tickets roll callers will be able to buy will be stated soon.

There was absolutely no reason to buy an 18 month membership looking back and it just feels like we were being used for financial gain with no benefit.
Well, the 18 month membership was the only way to get the 2014 vinyl. So there's that. But it does feel like what they're doing is a money grab.
How can the 2014/2015 membership NOT include 2015 goodies? That is why I bought it......
I have never gotten good tickets from roll call. In fact I missed out on the 1st annual 7" because my account became mysteriously "suspended" and it took a week for them to fix it and I was unable to sign up.
I want to like you roll call, I really do. But I don't.

I was able to get one because of the "limited package" that they did for 3 months. I missed out on the poster though :(
It definitely is really lame that the 2014/2015 packages don't include the 2015 package swag. You'd think that would be part of it.
groundCTRL aka Wonderful Union (new name) has been pretty bad across the board when it comes to Roll Call. I hope Team MMJ can try to get the message across that the miscommunication has to stop.

Thanks

Is there a limit to the number of tickets you can buy via pre-sale?
Anybody?
I'm guessing there is but I don't see anything that specifies on the website..

Go with the Parcel Post option. It's cheaper.
^Ordered it last night, I don't think it was working right at first
So would anyone like to share some success stories? I'm trying to decide whether to go for 4 tickets or not..

I received a UPS tracking # email late yesterday, Wednesday delivery scheduled for me
has anyone received their "1 free download code" yet? i'm waiting oh-so-patiently to download a OBH2 show.
Wow! Im shocked to read about all of this confusion with Roll Call/Wonderful Union. When I was a member back in 2012, I was happy with the whole Laminate-Early Entry privilege. Since there wont be any Los Angeles or Las Vegas dates on this tour, and the fact that I don't have a turntable, I see no reason to renew at this time. I did pre-order the Deluxe Waterfall CD Package from this site. So at least I have that to look forward to! I seriously hope you folks can get everything straightened out.

You can login to your account to get the tracking number. If the tracking number doesn't work, chat with WU support and they'll give you the real number (don't ask).
Saw a picture of someone's 2015 roll call swag and it appears the laminate is brand new. So, there will be competing roll call laminates out there this summer, one from the 2014-2015 package and one from the 2015 package.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I sure hope they remember/recognize those of us who went ahead and got the 2014-2015 package.
I can't find my 14-15 laminate. Anyone got a picture of it? Just so I know what I'm looking for

Is that a Wonderful Union sticker? Are they wanting you to spread the gospel with that sticker?
Weird, I got the roll call deluxe million dollar package but I only got my laminate so far. No tshirt or poster yet.

Folks who ordered the 2015 Roll Call with their preorder of The Waterfall will get the laminate first, then the poster and tee, since the order is placed with Firebrand, Inc. Folks who got the RC direct from Wonderful Union got the whole package. I have no idea why they are making this so confusing...

Cool, thanks. I wonder if they will give us the album. Little early since most if us heard it a month ago. I wanna spin that vinyl (and put together a damn puzzle).
