I'm sure one is coming at some point but that's all I'm looking forward to.
I can't make it to the Friday of Governor's Ball and even if I did that, it wouldn't satisfy my urge to see a full Jacket set.
As of now the only time I'm planning to see them is at Bonnaroo. Hoping that changes some point soon.
I'm right there with you man. I can't make any of the shows that would be feasible distance wise (Govs Ball, Boston Calling, Merriweather) except for mayyyybe Camden, but that's still a big if right now also. I'm really holding out hope for another 3 night run at the Cap in the fall/winter, which I think is very likely, but we shall see.
Seriously!
Thank God I made plans for Boston Calling and Camden/MPP, because after the West Coast announcement, it probably means we won't get any NY shows until December at the earliest! Bah!

I don't know about NYC but I heard several rumors of shows in Philly mid November. If that plays out, I'd imagine NYC has got to be in the mix around then too for at least 1 show.
Don't shoot the (possibly very ill-informed) messenger, but there are rumblings of a New Year's run at the Beacon. I know I've got my hotel booked.

God damn!! That would be amazing...
I'm calling Capitol Theater run over New Year's Eve. Id easily take that over beacon run.

Isn't that a Gov't Mule annual event there, or have they passed on this year? I haven't heard Mule has bailed on their Beacon shows this year, but that's not to say they haven't.
Definitely something I'm going to look into.
I'd love for this to be true, but at this point I'm skeptical, based on Mule's history with the Beacon.
I was thinking another MSG NYE show may be a possibility. We know they tried to play there in 2012 for NYE but Phish had it locked up. Love the Beacon but seems too small to me for a NYE show. Beacon or Cap>MSG perhaps?
I'd take a New Year's run just about anywhere on the east coast, so I'm really hoping something pans out!
I imagine we'll hear something by the end of June either way. By then OBH3 should be announced and their NYC and other north-east dates will have passed.
MSG is apparently free this NYE. The smaller the venue the better I'd say...
MSG '08 was announced in June of that year if memory serves.

I live 3 subway stops from beacon but would rather commute an hour and have a capitol theater run with New Years at the cap.

I hope you're right, and would love that but I'm curious to know when those 5 nights would be? I could see November or even sometime early to mid December but not so much around Chrismas/NYE.
I talked to some friends of mine the other day who are BIG Mule fans. They said they've heard nothing to make them think Mule won't be at The Beacon for their Dec. 30/31 shows again. In fact they told me the only year they remember Mule not playing there at least in recent memory was the year The Beacon was being renovated. (2008?)
These guys go every year, and have done the Philly Tower shows Mule does after the Beacon every year recently as well. That's not to say things couldn't change but it doesn't seem likely to me right now.

update/clarification: I heard 5 nights at the Beacon closer to Thanksgiving than the holidays. This leads me to guess MSG for NYE. I am a HUGE fan of the Cap as well, but our guys may have outgrown an 1,800 seater.... :(

OK now that Gov Ball is done, hope we get an announcement soon!
Therers no way they can do multiple msg nights right? Will be undersold?
But 3 nights either beacon cap or similar is probably in play right?
Would be great if true.. Gov ball was fun but a bit of a tease and despite people saying Camden is a full set, I'm still a little nervous it's gonna fall between festy and regular..

If Camden is anything like the Roo set, I'll have no complaints, and everyone can call it whatever they want.
I'm hearing Beacon run Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday of thanksgiving weekend. That would be awesome but the same days at the cap sounds a bit sweeter to me. Hoping for an announcement soon.
Really hoping these get announced soon before I do something stupid and blow all my money for a three-night run in Texas.
Announcement to be soon after Fourth of July. Or so I'm told.
That seems like a real odd time to do a multi-night run. The way I see it these multi-night runs are so the hardcore fans can see a bunch of shows with no repeats. With so many traveling to see family having one wrapped around Thanksgiving, seems like terrible timing.

I agree Count, and also think the guys would want to be home with their families for Thanksgiving. I could see scheduling shows the week before or even the week after, and maybe even early the week of, but not wrapped around Thanksgiving.

Seems like it is reasonable to think they can draw 2-5k a night in a place like nyc where anyone can take a train in from an hour or so away, even with the holiday weekend coming into play. I personally hope it's true, mpp is staring me in the face but it makes very little sense financially, family and work wise, so any announcement before then will help me do the right thing!
ugh that week would suck. hope its early november.
Thanksgiving still the rumored date?
Hoping it's announced after this weekend!

Seems like 4 total tickets between Boston & NYC. I'm hoping to go to all 4 shows so this could get interesting.
So will the Friday and Saturday dates be added later on?
I'd love to do all four but I can't thanksgiving weekend. Looks like I might continue my run of making major nyc shows but not all of them within the run (I went to 3 of 5 terminal 5 shows and 2 of 3 capital theatre shows).

I'm thinking they will add Fri and Sat once the first two dates sell out. The timing isn't good for me so I have some work to do if I'm going to hit any of these.
Oh no......Are we sure they're going to be adding two more dates? I told my mom I'd join her for Arlo Guthrie on the 28th at Carnegie Hall. Would hate to only catch 3 out of 4 of the Jacket shows :(
Ideas for best seats to shoot for? Thoughts about pre-sale seats.......like is it better to wait for general on sale?

Okay thanks. I'm planning on doing two shows whether they add more or not. Already saw them at govball and I have tix for Camden next weekend!
Additional dates to be announced with strong sales so I'd say it's a definite. At least I hope so. So happy about this great news!!

Thanks Ms. Y. Pretty happy here as a good music fix is due. If you can make it east for the shows, you are welcome to stay with me and mrs. hh.
Sounds like these extra two shows are a lock! Goddamn! Feeling great with an impending four night run but feeling EXTREMELY INTIMIDATED financially.

Hopefully we still get a NYE run.

I'm with you there Stevie. I'm lucky enough to be close enough to NYC to go, otherwise no way could I do these that week if they were anywhere else, except maybe Philly.
I would think this run eliminates a NYE option? Or should I be saving my eggs for that royally awesome basket?!?
Anyone else trying for pre-sale? Or is it better to wait?
I'm having no luck.

I tried for the roll call presale and it's all showing as sold out already :( Can someone who has done roll call for longer than I have help me understand? I signed on at 9am my time (10amNYC time) and already sold out? It sounds like they release more tickets for public onsale but what are the chances I will be able to actually get tix that way?? I am so desperate to go to the Thanskgiving Eve show...taking my sister for her first MMJ experience!

I struck out trying to get two either night.. will give TM a shot and hope to get something decent at least for one night.
Thanks for the tip and for making me feel a little less stressed :) I'll definitely try again then when they release on TM!
Hope Camden show is great for you by the way. I'm Philly born and raised, but just recently moved to Chicago so I had to sell my Camden tix this year! Will be my first MMJ Philly show I have missed since 2008...enjoy it for me!

Anyways... congrats on the seats. Off to TM for me. I just want to be in the center. I've been to a few shows recently were I saw to the side of the stage and to me the sound is better in the middle (first world problems haha).

BLAST! Also got shut out in the presale.
If I can't snag decent seats on Friday, looks like this trip just got a lot more expensive.
How much was a 2 day pass?
if these are like the other presales, won't there be some other presales from another company? I can't recall the name of that company but I remember being peeved that good presales tickets were available without having a RC membership.
Snagged a row AA Center Orch for Wednesday.
Shut out for Tuesday.
I was pretty ok with snagging Row A Loge both nights. But I have never been to the Beacon and read some reviews...is it true that the Loge usually remains seated vs Orchestra? Can't imagine sitting at an MMJ show. For those of you who have seen shows at the Beacon is this true?

Wow that was pretty ballsy. Center Orch that close is a nice seat at the Beacon no matter where in the Center section IMO. LC or RC to the outside, and I would've definitely thrown them back. Center? I'm not so sure.

generally, yes that is the case with row A. but it really depends on the show though, and depends on a little also on the row A people "setting the tone" .. while its nice to sit in your seat and relax preshow, youre almost all better off standing so once the music starts, its not like youre being rude and standing in front of someone else. if everyone is sitting and the music starts and only row a stands, people get all bent. but people usually (id say 75% of shows i have seen there) do sit in those seats. row A loge is an awesome seat by the way.. you could always do the bend/lean on the railing while not fully standing..
for mmj id bet most people stand in the loge though.. id put this show as the 25% category where peopel all stand..

I hope there's a bit of standing/dancing. I got Loge row B, myself. I guess it depends on how rocking the band is.

I looked on TM, and it appears there are more PreSales tomorrow, but for the usuals...ie American Express, Chase Preferred, etc....so I guess since I don't have these I have to still wait til the public on sale....I really don't want to end up in the very back of the venue (like someone said above, first world problem I know) but MMJ is one of those bands you gotta experience up close for the full effect. Argh!
We got Loge Row B for both nights, and I think we will stick with those. Unless I happen to remember to look at noon on Friday and happen to pull up something in the first 10 rows.
Funny for the first of the presale everyone got Loge....not to be a winner but I'm not excited about the seats . I'm supper disappointed. Had to have my friend who was visiting from England go on to my computer and grab roll call resale tickets for me and Brooke. I was at work outside in the rain and Brooke couldn't access my act from her computer. Anyways, he said he got row D and B for us but it turns out they are in Loge. So bummed. Would have just done the regular sale. Called the new GC and they obviously can do nothing. Home town show for us and we are in the back.......

Well Val, judging by the prices on StubHub right now I'd bet you'd have no trouble selling them there for face if Brooke scores better tix.
I hope it works out for you, and looking forward to seeing you, and Brooke at the shows.

Loge really isn't THAT bad there but I hear ya. There was the option however to choose loge seats or orchestra seats and it sounds like your friend picked the loge?
Speaking of loge, if anyone has a single to sell in row B, lowish even number for n2 please lemme know. Trying to pair up my single

Yea, there's a password in Roll Call members dashboard. Can I post it here? Is that against the rules or anything? Not sure how the seats will be

I wouldn't post it for just anyone to see. I wouldn't have a problem PMing it to someone here but I'm not giving it out for any random visitor to see, and worry they're just looking to put them up on StubHub or something.

I believe so.
And I believe Radio means the radio station WFUV, who are fans of the band and probably presenting it or doing some kind of coverage.

It must be FUV based on the presale code
I'm trying to think if I'll use this code or go straight amex
svrdhand have u ever gotten decent seats via amex presales? everytime i use it for MSG i always get section 213'd row 12.. just seems like their seats kinda suck

i actually think chase will be better than amex imo.. dont have anything concrete other than my usual amex pulls.. chase seems like the bigger sponsor for the msg group as well..
now im trying to decide between chase and radio!
ill be interested to hear who uses what presale and how they fare.. good luck
Getting Orchestra Row X.....may wait for general on sale
Orchestras Row P, Row X, section 1 for Radio presale. Probably going to wait for regular sale.
that was brutal cahse had NOTHING
radio is row P.. right where the balcony starts to cover.. im debating buying the P's... i wouldnt buy X though..
AMEX gave me lower balcony..
General on-sale it is.
I'm getting Row P as well, but I am happily taking them :) Plenty close enough for me, glad to be down in Orch. level!
I'm hoping to get center orchestra and hopefully a little closer than P. We'll see how high the demand is on Friday, though.
best i got was row O and P
through them back in. will find a way to get better seats
Looks like it was only for Rows P & Q as far as I could tell. All in all that went pretty smoothly. I wish they were doing something similar for Boston.

I saw some Ns and Os.
Public onsale for me.
I may really regret not getting the fan club tix. But Id rather be center a little further back then up close and to the side.
I think I lucked out with mine, they are indeed the Orch section to the right of center, however my seats happen to be 2 in from the aisle on the center side of the section...so I am pleased with that!! Row P is fine for me :) Best of luck to everyone getting the seats they want! Can't wait to see you beautiful people at the Beacon!! Man I love MMJ and the people in this forum :)
That was really lame. Same as everyone else. Upper Balcony or back of Orchestra. Friday it is!

Same here for me for Tues. I ended up grabbing a Lower Balc row A, and if I don't find a sweet Orch to upgrade to, I'll be happy there for a show. It overhangs the Orch at row M, and a great view. Sat LBalc row A for Allmans, Steely Dan etc, and I was very happy. Sound, and sight lines were great!

Are they at least still doing spontaneous curation or whatever? Are we guaranteed no repeats for all 4 nights? That'd be sweet.
4 nights means some super deep cuts.
And Craig Finn is opening one of the shows! I wish I could make it to NYC for that one!
I'd love to do the additional two nights but I'm saving for a wedding. The future wife is already dealing with 4 shows this year- I don't think she'd forgive 6!!!

im a little conflicted.. i had tentative plans to go to a certain concert in mexico city that weekend, im sure you can guess which judging by your screen name... think i gotta do the 4 at the beacon to be honest and get my brief fill at global citizen. easier on the wallet and gonna get some nice rarities 2 miles away from my apartment
Unfortunately, it's looking like the full four-night experience is not going to be a possibility for me. Am I crazy for even thinking "fuck this" if I can't do the full four nights??!?! Or should I be grateful that two shows is better than none?!

Well I think the more shows the better but even one is better than none, and two shows at the Beacon is great. If you can't do all four no reason to skip the two you can do,IMO. Go, and have a blast no matter how many you can make. That's my plan.

you should definitely be grateful for 2 shows - they will still be great. 4 no-repeat setlists is going to be chock full of interesting songs and deep cuts every night. You will still get that each night no matter how many nights you go (ie each night will only be 3-5 circuital and waterfall songs)
2-night no-repeat setlists have been good and 3-night have been great. We haven't seen >3 since T5.
Go.

Whoa, wait a minute, this may be none of my business but, hey, you shared here on the forum....
If your future wife is giving you a hard time about seeing MMJ only 4 times a year BEFORE you are married, what do you think life is going to be like AFTER you are married? You need to set the bar high and lay down the ground rules now regarding the need to see perhaps dozens of shows per year or you will be in trouble down the road. Trust me on this one

As a married guy I wouldn't say it's so much about not laying down the ground rules and more doing it out of respect for your partner. There's a lot of shit that just sorts of happens in that year between engagement and marriage and sometimes ditching out for 4 shows in 5 days over a holiday weekend kinda lets the air out of it all. Plus you gotta save up pre wedding too. Anyway I go to the same amount of shows after wedding as I did before, so there's hope.
holy cow, 4 nights and no repeats will be fucking sick.

That was my experience at least. I pulled rows N and farther through Amex and all the way up to DD through regular sale.
Regular sale def seemed to have the best seats. Some good ones in presale but not like center orchestra front row stuff.

That is true. I got great seats after an hour or so of waiting haha
definitely try any presale but they did seem to be pretty weak.. seems liek mmj gets rows AA-CC, the presales get row M plus and the regualr onale had gets DD-M and the higher row seats too..
although i think a lot of people that got row DD, row C etc it happened 1.5 hurs after the onsale right? right when it launched i was pulling crap..
Did anyone get RC tix for the Saturday show?
I was in in seconds and nothing at all. It seems like that happened to just about everyone. I know some got two day tix but was interested to see how RCers fared just going for the Saturday show. I haven't seen anyone post they scored for Saturday.

Good to see some Roll Callers got Saturday tix. The Loge link was live for a while but kept coming up empty for me. The Orch however was coming up empty for me from seconds into the sale.

The Beacon is terrific. And I agree with the above posts..... if you can't do all four then do as many as you can. One is better than none no matter how you look at it.
Shall I try and book a pre-show event at Amsterdam Ale House?

You absolutely should.. love Amsterdam Ale House
You can pull Row N orchestra's with today's Amex presale. I got a front row Loge for Friday, and will try for a better orchestra seat on Friday's general onsale.
I am glad i took the first tickets i pulled Section ORCH2, Row G, Seat 22. I can not pull up anything now.
I was able to get better seats with the regular sale - Row A in the loge for Friday and Row B in the Orchestra for Saturday. Not double letters by any stretch, but I'll take it!
If you were getting shut out earlier check again. Just pulled row L on the center aisle via the app.

can i buy you a beer? i just got row H on the center aisle- thank you!
Yes, thank you Dangles!
I upgraded to Row M center aisle for Friday! And Gilt City better come through with Orch for Sat. because I tossed back Row J aisle for Sat., as I didn't want to have too many tickets to resell!

Nah. We know we're in, and what the worst our seats could be. If I end up in Row E of the Loge, it's still a nice seat. I'm good with that.
It'd be torture for me if it was all or nothing, and hoping I got a ticket would be rough. If that was the deal I probably wouldn't have done it. Part of the draw for me was not having to worry about the rest of the on sales.

Good point, your positivity is contagious... now i'm excited again
whats up with them releasing all the aisles 2 hours after onsale? so bizarre how it all works..
i was debating buying row N aisles of the far wings and gave it one last push and the row H popped up.. so pumped

That's what was so annoying about last Friday's regular sale...I am on the computer from 12-1:10 with nothing coming up, step away for a few minutes and at 1:15 all the good tickets dropped. Bah!
still no Gilt ticket update, thought I would get into work today and have it my inbox. Kind of strange. Last round didnt take this long.. Anybody else get anything yet?

Nothing here yet either. When I first signed up for the Sat. show they told me I'd get a purchase confirm right away (which I did) and the voucher with the seat within 24 hours. They said it would go out on 7/24. Later that day when I checked to see if it was sold out, the voucher date on the purchase page was changed to 7/30, so hopefully we'll get them then, and it won't be changed again.
Just got my Friday night Gilt ticket locations.
Orchestra center row B... I am beyond amped, 6th row center? glad I took the gamble to say the least.

Yea, I'm glad I paid the extra so I knew I had it AND I got this too. Row B in Orch1.
3 shows in orchestra, 1 in loge. I'm a happy boy.

Makes me wonder if rows DD and A were even available? I purchased my tickets right at 10:02 (I think Gilt opened the deal at 10 AM).Unless location and timing have no bearing on eachother?
Granted i got 4 so that might have made it harder to fulfill, needless to say I'm glad to hear you got the Orchestra also.
Hopefully EricM and Jenfarr had similar luck.

Thanks for the finger crossing Jbats . Looks like we're all gonna be rocking that 6th row! I got two in Orch B Center too. See you guys there.

I'm still going through Camden/MPP show withdrawals so excuse my reading comp everybody. Forgot to say my Gilt show tix are for Saturday, and I just now realized some of you got row B for Friday. So it looks like even if we won't rock it together, that row will definitely be rocking both nights!
Anyone familiar with orchestra 4, row J?? I didn't think any other orchestra seats were going to pop up for Saturday so I took those seats now I'm a little skeptical of the view. What do you guys think?

I don't think that's a bad seat at all. It's pretty roomy in that row of both outside Orch sections at the Beacon. You're the 2nd row of that section with the row in front of you only having two seats in it.
The key to the view in the Beacon from there is how far back from the front of the stage each bands sets up. The more forward they are the better the view from the far outsides. The Allmans always tended to be a bit on the forward setup, and I've seen them the most of all the bands I've seen there. Those seats were great for them. Some bands go a little more towards the back of the stage. Especially ones with a video/effect screen that isn't hung real high. That could be obstructed a bit in those seats but I don't see that being a problem with MMJ. My instinct is they're going to be like the Allmans and have a more forward state setup. So IMO, that seat is a keeper. An added bonus is you're out front enough to not be under the Loge, or Lower Balcony overhangs. There shouldn't be any issues with sound there.
Here's a pic of the Orch seating from across the room. Your seat is on the far side in this pic, near where the big opening/arch way is. Looks good to me.

it might be one of two options, ticketmaster delayed delivery of the tickets, but if you already got Etickets that wouldnt make sense.
OR, the event doesnt allow transfering, thats happened to me once before and there is nothing you can do about it.. you'd just have to email them the original eticket or hard ticket once it arrives

i agree with all of that- its a solid seat.. youre far back enough to get good perspective, close enough to not be under the overhang, good sound, good view, small row, lot of space.. no issues there ..

thanks, i chose the mail option initially, figured i'd be going and i prefer hard tickets. something came up and i can't go anymore, sold the ticket...i think i've done hard tickets before but was able to transfer them electronically, i think it has something to do with the printing of the tickets getting delayed.

are the tickets will call? Ticketmaster will usually allow you to change the ticket format. For instance if you chose will call you could request to have them sent to you electronically or hard copy in the mail. Worth a shot. Or were all tix will call only?
I can't believe there are still amazing seats for Friday & Saturday shows. Just pulled Sec ORCH Row T, Seats 104-105 on TicketFly for Black Friday show. Not buying them, but that's dead center orchestra for the reduced price of $59.50.
My Fan Club tix are still better in Row DD on the Aisle for $15 more per ticket, but still!
Where do you see those tix? I'm going Saturday but would love to pick up tix for Friday too.
The Beacon Theater doesn't participate with the Ticketmaster transfer program. Not all venues do. If you call the box office there is a message about that. The box office is pretty easy going and may be able to do the transfer in house. I'd call.
