Saw the Thin Line thread (http://forum.mymorningjacket.com/index.php/topic,19137.0.html (http://forum.mymorningjacket.com/index.php/topic,19137.0.html)) and thought of this. Not quite a Jim throw back, but still pretty cool.

I love HOTBM. Seems to be an unpopular opinion around here.

Still one of my favorite songs to see played live. I remember all the hate I was hearing around the time of OBH 1 (and 2 for that matter). But I don't think I saw the crowd get more riled up and bouncing off the ground then when Black Metal got played.

Especially with the PHJB down at OBH2!  Black Metal was / is great live!!

I'm with you. It wasn't until reading these boards I realized it was viewed as the worst/most disliked song of theirs by a good amount of folks.

Someone explained it to me a while ago that it sounded too commercial and too obvious that they were trying to land a radio hit and I guess I can understand that. I just always enjoyed the song. I even have a 4 second clip of the horns as my text message alert on my phone lol.

Another Black Metal admirer here! It's such a fun song, I don't understand what's not to love? I don't think it's commercial sounding at all. Definitely a favourite of mine.

Big D and Thank You Too don't seem to be popular here either and I love them both. Especially TYT.

I've been really enjoying Big Decisions a lot.  It doesn't seem to be a favorite of many though.  Strange.

HOTBM is the only song on Circuital I really like.

Not a fan, but my teenage kids love it.

One of the more interesting Circuital tracks.  Though I prefer the original Thai song - hypnotic

I've been listening to Circuital a lot lately and I must say it really grows on me... You find something new on that album that you like every time you are listening to it. At the moment my favourite songs are The Day Is Coming and You Wanna Freak Out.  :cheesy: :cheesy:

I love Big Decisions. But I love Holding on to Black Metal too. Neither are in my absolute favourite MMJ songs, but I like them a lot.
