I get fucking heart palpitations and my hands go numb when I think about it. When I was there, I had no time to absorb what was happening, but the opening was hot as fuck. Dangerously so. I don't know how I can keep swimming in the mystery, man. I want this show to surface, but I also want to leave it exactly where it resides. I dunno. Music seems to be the only medium capable of transcending linear time...so I'd really like to hear it in a new atmosphere...having cleared my head of both expectation and hindsight...goddamn though dude...that song. That Strangulation. That O. That is like a trifecta I didn't even know could be real. But if course, o is the one that is...

Well Lonndown27,  unfortunately Jim didn't play a strat. (I wish...) He played a gibson ES.(I don't know what model)(the one he uses for Mahgeetah, Steam Engine, and many more ) . Carl played a gold/orange  Gibson Les Paul with some other pickups different then the P-90s. And I don't remember there being an Okonokos version of "How do you know" but if there was one. Please send it to me! Because I haven't heard it!

Is there like a live instrument to song bible I could study, because I feel like a significant portion of my MMJ vernacular is lacking when I can't describe things except "red" or "black"...

I know!  Probably cause back then they wanted a concise view of their best material up to then without too huge of rarities / not enough finances to edit every song and put it on what with different labels owning some of the songs? It boggles my mind still because Okonokos is fucking unbelievable and deserves a box set treatment where we get both nights in full. Im surw its coming in the next 5 years haha but until then I guarantee you we will see a few Okonokos sequels
What'd you think of the live Okonokos version of HDYK? the st Louis show is FINALLY circulating!  I got the link on this and another thread ENJOY! !!

Sorry to continue with the thread hijack, re: Okonokos...

You MUST get The Okonokos Project!

Also...

Acoustic Chorale is the bonus DVD that had limited release w/Okonokos in '06.  These 6 songs were also cut from the final Okonokos DVD and they are exceptional.

For those who've yet to acquire Acoustic Chorale on DVD, I've uploaded the disc image (.iso) file so that you can burn your own copy!  I received permission from the band's management a while back, as it was never commercially available and is out of print.

Download the .iso file, unzip it, then put a blank DVD-R disc into your computer.  Right click the .iso file and choose "Burn disc image".  You should end up with a pristine copy with working menu, etc.  Not sure if Mac users will face a significantly different procedure.  Enjoy!
