hello good people..
if anyone is in need, i have two tix for each night of vegas that the lady and I can't use...life has unfortunately got in the way. they are print at home / etix thru ticketfly that I purchased way back during the original on-sale.
happy to sell at a discount!
if you're in need, please drop a line. i don't regularly post on here, but we can set it up on Cash or Trade if that makes it easier for you and/or meet up in SF if you're local.
Thanks! Wish we could be there! Gonna be a great wkd.
Heres a question for anybody who might have an answer
I ordered two tickets through the pre sale on this site but didn't download them at the time (a common practice of mine:) ).
Now I'm not sure where to find and print them out. Anybody know? Doesn't appear the sale wen through Ticketfly who is handling the general sale.

We are coming in from Houston. We might end up at The Yard House before Fridays show since it is close and the Astros are playing early.
I saw the Roll Call early entry details, but does anybody know if there is an option for sound check?

Soundcheck: Death is the Easy Way, Slow Slow Tune, Evelyn
I've been requesting DITEW for months on end, almost didn't believe my ears when I heard the opening notes. This is why I love this band. Here's about a one minute clip from my Twitter:

WOW been to many. That was one of the best sets I've ever seen!
Yes sir they definitely played Honest Man and it was fucking phenomenal! It was definitely one of the highlights of the show! I have been waiting a long time for it, last time I saw Honest Man and the first time was at a show at the Uptown Theater in KC and the lights went out during the middle of it and they just kept fucking rocking the lights came back on towards the end of the song and Jim was fucking killing it right in front of the bass drum facing Patrick! My wife looked at me and said God Damn this is like fucking Zeppelin! Haha! Alright I'm out I'll send the set list for night 2 right after show tomorrow night!

thats pretty cool
Thanks Derek. pretty cool poster, and nice job getting your hands on the SC one.
Any one know if you can still purchase access to Saturday soundcheck (if there is one)
Is it possible for someone to pick me up a red variant poster at soundcheck. I'm local and going to show tonight. I bought the white one last night but would love the red. Ill pay you at show, ill be there at 8:00. See you all tonight, if we get a show even close to last night were in for a treat.

Unless they've changed their policy since the summer leg, those SC posters aren't for sale. They're part of the soundcheck purchase, and everyone going to the SC gets one. This is also the first time I've seen/heard of a SC variant poster. It's usually just the same show poster available at the merch table that's given to those doing the SC with the only difference being it's signed by the band.
Maybe they'll pop up on the artists site or someone going to the SC will be willing to sell. I hope you can snag one. It would be pretty cool to have both.
jesus...They Ran Where To Begin Dancefloors AND Xmas Curtain a day after I see them....ughhh fuck you SLC ticket non-buyers for not selling Saltair out and making the booking a nightmare. i loved my show but coulda used some Dancefloors hahaha
they were in absolute astonishing form on the 7th so no wonder their first Vegas shows are up a level to a ridiculously awesome level. good god I love this band!!!

hey there!
at least we have this forum to come back to and keep us interested while we are bored all day. now about that soundcheck setlist....
Don't worry folks I'll post a set list ASAP! I'll try to give updates but I couldn't get much of a signal at all in the venue last night. There wasn't a Soundcheck for today just Friday. I did see a pic that Tom posted on Twitter of Carl playing his sax between some bowling lanes earlier today! I'm sure they will start around the same time as last night around 10:15 pacific time. I promise I'll post the set list as soon as I get out and have a signal. Last night was one of the better shows I've ever seen them play I have a feeling it could be the same tonight!
Please & Thank You, razral.
Much appreciated. After the "sleazy pay" in the SC + yesterday's setlist, I'm climbing the walls.
Gotta live vicariously though y'all.
MUCHOS GRACIAS
yep appreciate it razral!!
i have a feeling tonight will be the epics, dondante and steam (cause of carls sax picture) but maybe a crazy random song with sax incorporated also?? who knows.
regardless, have a great show!
I hear ya! I'm always up all night waiting and hoping to see the setlists myself! We are definitely kindred spirits. I see your a Band fan, I grew up close to were Levon is from in Eastern Arkansas and my first born's name is Warren Levon. Haha anyways! I have met so many awesome Jacket fans here in Vegas and the Brooklyn Bowl is a fantastic venue I will always try to swing this if they play here again.
should be an hour from now or so..
Updates baby!
Thanks razral. I think STEAM is prob a good bet. I'm callin Carried Away there or SFO. I will be extremely jelous/happy for y'all. Maybe you'll get REALLY LUCKY and get the not played almost ever "Trouble Sleep". I mean Vegas is a city that NEVER SLEEPS. Think that's a long shot but...you never know. But Kenny's (as in Kenny G. My joke with my GFriend and a couple buddies, about Carl on the sax) DEFINATELY bustin out the sax tonight. He gotten so much better playin the damn thing! LOVE IT when he busts it out. Kenny on the sax, pedal steel, slide, or just the Les Paul or one of his Dusenburgs, which he seems to favoring more and more is fuggin' great. That guy is one unbelievable multi-instrumentalists. With a banshee like wail when needed (he's shrieks higher notes than Yim on Victory Dance). SETTING SUN!!! Anyway I'm rambling. Point being Carl fuggin RULES!
GO TEAM CARL!!!
And thanks for any updates , razral!!!
(And Yeh, I'm a MASSIVE The Band fan. I mean they were THE BAND! I actually started a tradition about 15 years ago and have my whole family watch The Last Waltz every Thanksgiving! For real) I also made a beer called The Weight in honor of Levon's passing.
That man was incredible. Rambling again. Hope y'all are getting a good one. Thanks again!

I agree with everything you just fucking said! Looooove The Band too!
I am so damn sad I couldnt make it out to Vegas for these shows, I almost couldnt stop in to see the set lists, but I'm definitely happy for those that could make it. "Death Is the Easy Way" yesterday at SC, unreal! Then a great looking set list later that night....I can't wait to see what they played tonight. I really wish I could take more time off of work to get to these shows, lol

Same feeling again. Jealous, but happy for your buddy...
There's probably a German word that perfectly describes that feeling/ situation.
(Like the word shadenfreude, which perfectly describes it's awkward situation.

I love the show I saw but wow, Jim, couldn't you have given us at least a Dancefloors and Cobra and Masterplan over Touch Me II and Victory Dance and Wordless Chorus three songs that have been played the last three times (with Wordless its been the last 4 times). I dont wanna sound like a dickhead complainer, but when you requested those songs tirelessly day after day from April to October and they play them a show later? Kinda bums you out even though you loved the show you saw.
Guess I gotta be glad for a buddy, I ve still only seen them twice, I'm gonna need to see them for a lot longer to get those rarities I guess

i totally get being dissapointed. i do (kindve). at the same time, SLC is a smaller market, and was only one show.
When theyre touring specifically for an album, you cant expect to get a bunch of rareities with a one night run in my opinion. I may be wrong, but just my thoughts!
but from the SLC recording i heard, that State of the Art > Get the Point > Dondante > Thin Line was just incredible!!!
Wondering what everyones thoughts were on the better of the two, wife was all for Friday and I think Sat was off the charts...
I so screwed up though, went Team Jim Fri, and Carl Saturday and had it ass backwards. Carl was defiantly on point Friday night and Jim was having a ball and all over the place Saturday. From my perspective Jim was having the time of his life Saturday.

IT WAS!!! It was the first time i've ever loved Get The Point, i used to hate that song and now...I love it.
Yeah i get that, its a smaller market and even though the place was respectably filled, it wasn't sold out and there had to be a last second venue change, which is a bitch on everybody. I get that they didn't because of that, but at the same time, they know how to play these songs in their sleep, and stuff like Gideon for the 100th time, Wordless and Victory Dance and especially Touch Me Pt. II and OBH lose their power when played every show.
They have such a magical discography don't they guys and gals???
I was just happy they played 12 songs id never seen live, 7 Waterfall tracks, State of the Art, It Beats 4 U, What A Wonderful Man, I Will Sing You Songs and that brutal, epic Dondante.
SPLINDED first night all through. Talked a buddy to go with the 2nd night and slipped into comas. Too too many ballads. Energy was totally off and negative. I apologized all the way home. The encore was strong yet all Marcus could utter was 'SHIT now this man thinks he's Jesus'
PUMPED my buddy up HARD for his first Jacket experience. total buzz kill
Seen The Jacket over 25 times never thought I'd be so disenchanted.

weird. ive heard the exact opposite from everyone....
I loved them both. Didn't think there were many "ballads" at all. Not one solo Jim song. I do wish Jim had interacted with the crowd at least once over the two nights but I'm sure there was a reason for that.
One of the more unique set lists I've ever witnessed and all the people around me were really awesome both nights. My buddy I dragged along as a very mild fan loved the second night. Thought the first was "pretty good"
The fact that Vegas is a 24 hour party city makes it very difficult to get an even keeled audience. Everybody is in different states of party. Just the way it seems to be with every Vegas show I've ever been to.
I really loved both nights. The sound was spectacular
To each their own though. Sorry you feel so negative about it. We all have bad shows I guess
yeah i didnt understand the whole "ballads" part^^
oh well, like you said to eachs own.
I live in Vegas and find that in general audiences in Vegas are very lackluster. The crowd energy was definitely lower on the second night, but the show was so sick! My small group was dancing our asses off but most of the crowd in front of us barely bobbed a head. Their loss. Im not entirely sure as to why but the local live music crowd is very small, and we don't really have that home town vibe that a lot of you have when your favorite band comes to your town. When the band gives us a shoutout, they are less speaking to the people that live here and mainly to travelers. I am still baffled that these two nights didn't sell out, but I personally had the best two nights I've had in a long time.

im under the assumption that mmj's promoters are SHIT. when they came to birmingham the show was no where to be found on probably the most popular ticket app, livenation/ticketmaster. I had to search the thing, when it showed me the "top 10" concerts that week in Bham.
Not the Jacket's fault at all, but their promoters really seem to suck. We all know the amount of non sellouts this tour has been way too often.

yeah they need new promoters for damn sure.
I love their promoters. Their sucking at their job means I get to see the greatest band in the world at small venues w killer sound like the Cap and the beacon. I couldn't care less about the casual fan. If you're a true music fan, you know and love this band.

My wife said the opposite thing as well. She's a casual fan and grumbled about too many ballads on night one. I'll take the slow songs with the fast ones. It's all great. I thought both shows were amazing.
First night was fanfuckintastic. My three FAV songs off Waterfall and executed perfectly. Just from beginning to end. Top five encours EVER. Just a 'ho hum' second show. Over it.
The Truckers & Bottle Rockets rule in 'my book' but 'it still moves' was my introduction into Americana Grass Roots angle so The Jacket are still very special.
Did we get 'highly suspicious' either night? Can't remember.
No Highly Suspicious, but we did get Holdin On To Black Metal.
I'm very surprised to hear some people think that night 2 was mediocre.
I was at both and would give the edge to Night 1, but I thought Night 2 was fantastic as well, particularly Master Plan, Easy Morning Rebel, Lowdown, and Thin Line. Also very cool to have Steam Engine end the set and have the Okonokos-style ending of it where Patrick gets a solo. I think night two felt short by about one barn burner (like if they had played Run Thru after Steam), but still a great show in my opinion.
One interesting thing was, besides the songs from the new album, how much Night 1 pulled from the first two records and Circuital, then Night 2 pulled almost completely from the middle 3 albums (ISM, Z, EU) and almost nothing from the others (1 AD song, and no TTF or Circuital songs).
consider the source here, this is the guy that was pissed about the daytime background music at OBH and went off on people who like to partake in some fun from time to time. I wouldn't put much weight on this thread.
hahahahaha^^

I think you just validated my point.

metallica may be more of your style man. just my opinion
I totally agree with Whippy. I certainly give the edge to Night 1 but I thought both nights kicked ass and were up there with some of their best shows.
Great small venue and I had no trouble securing the rail both nights.
I've seen MMJ close to 60 times now rarely ever leave feeling let down. After 2 nights in Vegas and 2 excellent shows, I am certainly glad I made the trip. Great weekend.
Bring on the 4 shows next month in NYC at The Beacon.

Two great nights of music. I should mention Stran of Oaks also killed it both nights. My favorite and the most fitting MMJ opener I've seen to date
Indeed they did. I thought SOO was fantastic.

i must admit to wondering why he couldn't just post his unhappy thoughts in the existing vegas thread. why the need to start another one?
Long time lurker, first time posting...
I was curious what the reaction might be on here as to which night in Vegas folks preferred. My brother and I were in town for both of the shows and had an awesome time at each but definitely gave the edge to Friday night. It was my brother's first time after enjoying the albums for a number of years and he was blown away. I've only seen them about 10 times so admittedly dealing from limited experience but I would put Friday up there as possibly my favorite show ever. Tiny venue with amazing sound, great lights, etc. certainly helped. But I felt there was a palpable energy buzzing off the band, surging through the crowd and building throughout the show. By the time Black Metal closed out the set in a nice frenzied fashion we were both scraping our faces off the floor. Only to have to do it yet again after the encore.
Saturday was still ridiculously good by most any band's standards but felt a bit more run of the mill for the mighty MMJ.
Loved both nights. The energy night one was a little more live. Probably because most just got in and didn't have the whole day Saturday to get up to trouble (just a hunch)
Black Metal was sick. Where to Begin with extended ending! so cool
I loved both set lists as well but I give the nod to Friday. Just a perfect Jacket show for my likes in an excellent venue
again, I do wish he had at least said hello but whatever.
Did anyone here partake in the bowling? My brother and I sprang for the bowling VIP package. I wanted to just get the regular VIP (no bowling), but my brother wanted the full Brooklyn Bowl experience. It was a fun concept, but I was worried about missing MMJ while the bowling was happening. It ended up not mattering. The bowling began at 8pm and lasted until 1opm. Our bowling alley bar tender told us that MMJ requested the bowling be shut down for their show, and that some other artists do the same. Makes me wonder why they offered a bowling alley package and then blocked the bowling. For the price of the VIP bowling package, I felt a little slighted that they shut down the bowling long before it would normally be.
We thought these shows were amazing! Personally ,we haven t seen the guys in such a small a venue since evil urges! To have Jim James sing some of the best ballads to you-ROCKS! Oh boy do I like the new jacket he's wearing as well! Hopefully we get a small venue again someday
I thought both shows were great. The best feeling was the end of the show Friday knowing there was another show the next day. I definitely have to get to more multi-night runs.
Friday night had the more unique set list. War Begun into I Will Sing You Songs was a highlight. Honest Man was so rocking then just weird and fun at the end. Was the crowd smaller too on Friday?
Saturday night seemed like the rock show with fast playing and distortion cranked on every song. It fit the set list. Off the Record was insane during the jam at the end! Smokin and Touch Me pt.2 had a slightly different feel with the pace.
Great group of fans both nights too.
I was only at night 2, which was the more crowded night from what I heard. But still it was easy to roam around and get really close to the stage. The venue and the stage itself was quite small and the sound was top notch. Infancy followed by Masterplan was an incredible back to back. I brought a friend who only listens to classic rock and liked MMJ covers that I sent him well enough to check them out. He loved the show and will be seeing MMJ again.
