Title: It's Great To Be Alive DBT
Post by: rincon2 on Nov 01, 2015, 01:34 AM
DBT is showing by example what MMJ needs to do. A 3 CD 35 song live show all from the Fillmore in SF last November. 5 LP vinyl set due out now but production delayed.  Career spanning, and excellent. Hmmm? Who else did a career spanning 3 night run in SF recently? How's about a 3 or more CD compilation of those shows with accompanying vinyl? And release the Red Rocks show on Blu-ray. Is that their new "Okonokos" plan?

i would not at all be surprised if this happens in the timeframe b/t now and the next studio album. Just a feeling I get. The band and the band's management, I'm sure are aware of the demand for an official live release that would be pressed on vinyl (vs available as a download)

DBT's "It's Great To Be Alive" is one of the best live albums I've ever heard..

For my money, the only other modern competition is Okonokos, Wilco's "Kicking Television" and the recent "Live from Atlanta" by Lucero.

Highly recommended.
