Someone posted on the FB page and I have emailed Bullmoose to get more details but this is VERY interesting (or a misprint)

The price is what's throwing me off the most out of all this. Obviously, a lot has happened to the vinyl market since this was first released. And we all know what that pressing is going for nowadays. Does anyone remember how much they were charging when it first came out? It does seems strange to be that low of a price given the original was 4 discs, and compared to the ISM just announced at 2. They sure are keeping us busy on a rather slow year. Keep 'em coming! Where's the Beacons!!!

ISM is 4 total discs so that's sort of inline with this. And, I am guessing the Beacons come post Red Rocks...
with such a high demand on vinyl and long delays in some plants, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to make a larger commitment to get the pressings out in time. Complete speculation but its just kinda strange to have both of these released w/in 2 months of each other. Especially with how long and how loudly people have been clamoring for another release of Okonokos.
I paid $49 for mine new when it came out, so the price is sure right! What intrigues me is that this is called a "deluxe" reissue. Wonder if some tracks will be added...
I work for Bull Moose, I'll look into this tomorrow evening when I get to work.

We'll all be waiting to hear back from you on specifics. Even if some of us already pre ordered, lol.
This is amazing news. I own an original box set but plan on picking up a second one lol. I've been so nervous about messing up my copy that I rarely play it and try to be careful with it when moving things or cleaning. Very awesome.
WHAT?!?! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:
My original Okonokos LP box was $40. My backup copy was $125, but I sold it. I've preordered this "deluxe" reissue, as its definitely worth $50 for a backup copy.
Holy shit this has been a long time waiting... Pre-ordered
The hits just keep coming!
Is this website legit? I'm assuming if they were reprinting it then wouldn't it shortly be announced through MMJ and available for preorder elsewhere too?

Bull Moose opened their 12th location in New England late last year. They know their stuff, or at least they certainly seem to. If it's showing up on their website, I would be shocked if it wasn't legit.

This is great news. Mine is ordered. I'm so excited for this. It's my favorite record ever. Wondering if deluxe will have added songs? I'm assuming it'll come with Strangulation, Where to Begin, and Sooner like it did previously? Those songs are so fucking good.
Bo and Tom seem dubious on the Twitter.
The term "deluxe" would hopefully mean more than just a repress. Even if that's all it turns out to be, I won't feel bad listening to a $50 version, as opposed to being on edge when I want to play my original whose price we won't discuss further (still worth it though).
Already pre-ordered through Bull Moose... I regret not doing ISM through them seeing as how they have free shipping and WU doesn't.
So sweet! Thanks for the heads up!!!

Ruh roh.
Hopefully just because it hasn't been officially announced by the band, that I know of, yet. Hopefully.
technically, Tom said he heard they might be a repress on the way and knew no details but Bo said he didn't think it was real.
I would think that for those who have preordered we would have received an email from bullmoose saying "Sorry but ........" Along with our refund.
I think it just has not been "officially" announced thus the boys won't/can't say.

that's definitely in play. getinthevan works there so they may have an update soon
Sadly, no update. No answer in the office and no response to my email yet. We do have a listing in our computer and it does have a UPC, I know that much. 880882251819, if anyone is interested. I'm guessing it will be Monday before I hear anything. As soon as I do, I'll pass the info along!

Only speculation, no real updates. They said that all the info they have is what's on the website. They said with the release date being so close to the It Still Moves reissue, that maybe perhaps it's part of a reissue series but they had no idea. They did say that I wasn't the only person to ask about it and that they will update the listing as they get more info.

thank ya sir. Like I said previously, my guess is that they had to get a certain # of pressings to get a release out on schedule. The pressing plants have pretty big wait times from what I've read/heard.
Ground control to Major Tom....
I wish I read this yesterday I just went into Bull Moose in Bangor today. Would've asked about it.

As an aside, will u be attending John Mayers homecoming?
I really dont care much for Mayer with the Dead, its kinda like Axl Rose in AC/DC.

harsh! he used to be a douche, but damn he nails Jerry's tone and tempo - much better than Trey IMHO. NOT starting a fight here - I'm a Phish fan and also saw all 3 Chicago shows. Trey with Fare Thee Well sounded like Trey. Mayer plays and sounds like Jerry.
Not trying to hijack this thread but I wish they would stop all these reunion shows and substituting for Jerry...it's time to move on and do your own thing.
I actually agree with Jellyfish. All these Jerry stand ins all leave something to be desired, I'd rather see Bobby or Phil writing some new music and going that route. Mayer just really irritates me for some reason...
The thing is Mayer is not a stand in. They are not the Grateful Dead. They are Dead & Co. You'd be better off not comparing him to Jerry. After all, there will only be one.
That said IMHO its way better than the Fare Thee Well cast. This group is energized, revitalized and best of all having fun. The music seems to be playing them again versus them playing the music. It's a beautiful thing.
Mayer is a super skilled guitar magician. His voice is clean. And he is feeling the music without trying to be Jerry. That is the key I think. A handful of cats could've been tapped to be Jerry, including Trey, but they went in a totally diff direction. And it works.
If you have not seen YouTube vid of the band specifically MSG shows and the later SF stint your missing out.
I was lucky enough to see Jerry & the Boys a couple times in the 90s. Had a blast but the music was subpar. Further was fun too and sounded good. The videos and reviews of Dead & Co have me pumped for summer tour. I'll be at 4 shows. Pit for 2. Nothing left to do but....
At this point I live so far out in the sticks, Im not seeing any concerts any time soon :drum:
I hate to be selfish since I already have Okonokos on vinyl, but wouldn't a soon to be re-press mean that a Beacon box set or Okonokos 2 (which has been speculated about around here) wouldn't happen anytime soon?
has there been any other news on this?
The Bullmoose link now has a release date of 12/31/2025 with a Shipping to Be Announced note

At least it'll already be paid for, and shipped to my daughter living in my old house after I pass. I only let her enjoy Okonokos on CD and DVD. She should be old enough to handle the vinyl on her own by the time this arrives.

you guys are a LIIIIITTLE crazy for throwing your money at something that may not be made at all....i mean...who knows what's going on with the status of this Okonokos reissue...if they're gonna reissue it, why not include the songs / footage that was left out of the original release and give us both nights at the Fillmore....ive been wanting to see footage of Death Is The Easy Way and How Do You Know forever...they also played Picture of You at those shows
As I prepare to depart New England, I am no longer a Bull Moose employee and I wasn't able to get any more info than has already been mentioned.
Was anyone charged? My understanding is that they don't charge until the order ships.

Bullmoose, unlike WU, does not charge 6 months in advance. They billed my ISM when it shipped.
They take the pre-order and bill when shipped.
I contacted Bullmoose about Okonokos and they said they have no idea when this will be released but they will keep us informed.
Still nothing official from the band.

wonder if there will be any extra goodies with this or if it'll be a straight up reissue/repress?
So, we're less than a month away from this reissue, and still no word from the band about it. Weird considering how much they promoted the It Still Moves remix.

Could it possibly be because the ISM remix was kind of a bigger deal, all things considered, than just a second pressing? I really have no clue, just taking a guess. My local RS has it in their system and has ordered it for me, it's happening.

From where I pre-ordered:
Hello,
The release of this has been delayed and the label has not announced a new release date at this time. Your order is still active. We will do our best to keep you posted of any new information on this title.
Thanks!
"Sooooo I do believe" it will happen at some point!
My order from Amazon is still active.
I'm part of the Vinyl Me Please club, and they have this release as part of their August store for $42 for members. So in theory it's still good.
Interesting that Okonokos has been removed from the Pono store. The version that came with the MMJ LE Pono was at a higher resolution than the one in the Pono store. Maybe the hi-res version will finally be put up for sale at the end of the month to coincide with the re-release?
Okonokos Re-Release 8/1/2016!
looks like 3 new songs on the rerelease
Anybody check to see which ones?

I don't think there are 3 bonus songs. Of at least based off of this track listed on the MMJ store page. This is the same set list as the 2006 LP version. It always had 3 more songs than the CD.
Disc 1
Wordless Chorus
It Beats 4 U
Gideon
One Big Holiday
I Will Sing You Songs
Lowdown
The Way That He Sings
Disc 2
At Dawn
Golden
What A Wonderful Man
Off the Record
Lay Low
Dondante
Disc 3
Run Thru
Xmas Curtain
O is the One That Is Real
Steam Engine
Dance Floors
Disc 4
I think I'm Going To Hell
Anytime
Mahgeetah
Where To Begin
Sooner
Strangulation

What color is the vinyl? If not the standard black I may join just to get this variant.
yea, if the vinyl always had those tracks, why promote the repress as having 3 more tracks?

Agreed it is totally misleading. I already have the 2006 version and only plan to buy this if there is a difference.
No difference.
cool. now I don't have to buy it
i bought one for a listening copy. not that I don't listen to the original, just figured $45 was fine for a copy that I don't feel like I have to handle with extreme care.
Supposedly mine is on the way,be here friday!
So freakin excited to have this in my possession. Not so excited that I'm experiencing excessive skipping!

Are you playing this on a Crosley or low end TT? If so that's your problem. But I have to say when I opened mine up one of the records had a sliver from the center hole dug into the vinyl.I removed it carefully and cleaned it and it sounds fine but there is a visible scratch.I had to clean all the records and take tweezers and remove slivers of vinyl from the center hole but it's all good now. It's because of rushed pressings I know.Mine plays great now and I am excited to have this on vinyl as well even if it isn't the OG pressing.

I own this one too, probably one of the best options in this price range. It's not low end by any means. Now Crosleys shouldn't even be called turntables/record players as they are the destroyer of records.
Do you clean your records? Have an anti-static brush?
Admittedly I'm bad with maintenance and cleaning

You're good, that is the same model I have and have been very happy with it.I hate that you got a bad pressing.I would definitely return it for a replacement.
Lots of records get warped in transit, especially this time of year, as happened with a BUNCH of the early Circuital units, which I think sat in the back of a truck in Arizona for a couple of days. Man, I hope that's not the case with these. Anyway, yes, you should be able to get a replacement!
Thinking about picking up a second copy. Did anyone who ordered the new one also still have an original box set? I got one from when it first came out but the rareness of it being available for years makes me want to get a backup copy lol. Am I the only one?

nope, I bought a "listening" copy. My wife paid WAY too much money for the one I have and in addition, I have a toddler so I figure I will put the OG in an upstairs closet along w/ a few other choice cuts for safe keeping.

I bought another copy. My thought process is the same, play this one more!!
The box is a bit different. The original has a glossy finish on the box, this one is flat. Also, the inner sleeves are much nicer and thicker on the new copy. All in all a nice production, although I have not listened to the new copy yet. Fingers crossed!

Same here, I got a new copy in order to retire the original and now I can play the new one to my heart's content. It just arrived today but I haven't had a chance to check for warpage yet. Fingers crossed!
Glad to know I'm not the only one. Yea, I was thinking about keeping the original one stored somewhere and using the newer version as my main listening copy. I'm so glad this has finally seen the light of day. Will probably buy one this week.
Now about those T5 and/or Beacon shows.....that's what we need next!
I cannot believe I finally own this on vinyl.
