Hey, Jacket Junkies!

A bunch of folks, excited for the presale of the It Still Moves deluxe release, rushed over the the MMJ website store to place their orders. I was one of them. The 4xLP box runs about $54.

These were the shipping options I faced. I went with the cheapest, almost $16.

We then became aware that the album will be available from Bull Moose records for $52 + free shipping or Amazon for $54 (free shipping w/Prime).

Many folks have now cancelled their orders with the MMJ website store, saving $20 or more by going with another retailer.

The complaints around shipping costs, whether from merch or Roll Call membership swag, have been a staple of this forum, and Facebook, for years. I've shipped many items, insured via Priority mail or media mail, for far less than what Wonderful Union or Firebrand charge.

Sometimes, as Bernie would say, you need a revolution, where people come together to challenge the status quo. I started a thread on Facebook's My Morning Jacket Fan Club page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2204753114/), but not everyone here is on Facebook or belongs to that group.

Let's start a roll call-style list of folks who support the idea of including FREE or reduced shipping with Roll Call membership. Perhaps, it could be offered as an add-on (like Amazon's Prime). Perhaps, it would mean raising the cost of a Roll Call membership by $10+. If it meant our Roll Call swag and any purchases from the MMJ merch store were shipped for free or reduced cost, I imagine it would be a popular improvement to the current situation.

If you have already "liked" this idea on the Facebook MMJ Fan Club page, don't add your name here. I'd like to combine the two threads and send the results to MMJ management, without inflating the numbers in support of the idea.

Those prices are hilarious. Way to upcharge on the shipping. If UPS charged those fees they would be out of business.

Spare a thought for those of us who have to get our orders shipped out of the U.S. I pretty much paid as much in shipping as I did for the actual roll call membership.

It is a shame. We've all shown our loyalty to the band in many ways. But even the loyal will only be dragged so far. Hopefully our voices can be heard with this initiative. Thanks again John.

I agree, that is unacceptable. I ended up paying 22$ for a circuital can koozie that was listed as 4$.

And I already paid my $70. I wonder if it's too late to cancel and get it from Amazon. :embarrassed: My shipping was $16.75.

I'm guessing the band gets the same $ per unit sold, regardless of from where it was purchased, so I wouldn't lose sleep over asking for the refund and picking up this ISM reissue for $48 instead of $70. Use that $22 savings towards a poster at Red Rocks!
