Title: Japan show
Post by: eno on Feb 02, 2009, 05:19 AM
Greetings from Japan,
Can't wait MMJ Japan show!

But I'm very sorry to say,
The promoter in Japan doesn't allow taping.

I'm a taper, so I contacted MMJ management.
They answered,
"Taping will be OK also in Japan tour", and I told the promoter about that.
But the promoter said
"We don't have any confirmation like that, so no taping."
And I contacted management and then to the promoter again and again.
But I couldn't make it.

I'll just enjoy the show with no rig.
May the stealth taper is there!
;)

Too bad.  MMJ allows taping, but if the venue doesn't, there's not much they can do.  Enjoy the show!

That's Japan for you!

Rules are rules but you never know, I got beers into a show once having promised the guy on the door I wouldn't drink them inside  ;D

Which show(s) are you going to Eno?

Nice!  Do you have any idea how many they have sold?  Will it be full?
You might be our only hope for a setlist. (or even just what you can remember!)

BH,
I think Tokyo is not full. Ticket number seems not reach to 1,000.
Ticket on the day will be sold.
I'll try to remember the set list!

Dragonboy,
Oh, you will be at Osaka!
700!!!  Unbelievable...   It'll be a blast.

Love Jim's banter after dude calls out for Jumpin' Jack Flash

"We'd like to play one off our first album and it's called Jumpin' Jack Flash."......and into Librarian ;D

It was a great Dondante.  No one was talking!!  Amazing!

Wow - that "Highly Suspicious" made me sweat - so gravelly and rough, but funky as s!$%!!! Damn! The boys were on. Anyone who still disses this song hasn't heard it live, and if they have, they haven't heard it as mean as that night in Japan!

Were the boys on speed or something? Through the whole show, they're just roaring with a ferocity I haven't heard in a while (well, not since New Year's Eve, since none of the Australia shows made it onto tape, or at least not onto archive.org).

And, yeah, you could write a book on the "Dondante" played that night.

Can't wait for the rest of the 2009 tour dates to be announced, so I can plan my summer vacation (please go to Europe, guys - I've never been, and a show or festival there would be a good excuse to go walkabout in the Old Continent with the wife).
