super bored here at work, thinking out loud, pondering the future.
no chance I would be going anyway, but am I safe in assuming there will be no OBH next year? seems highly unlikely, but we're just a few weeks away from an announcement....if there is anything to announce.

I hope the rumors that they signed a 3-year contract for the Dominican are true, but also hope they skip a year like they did in mexico. I could use a year off to replenish my bank account for OBH5 in 2020.

I was wondering the same thing the other day. I even looked back to see when it was announced last year, it was mid July.
I'm of the feeling that it's highly unlikely too but I would love to be wrong. :smiley:
I doubt they would announce that it is not happening.
I think everything 2018-2019 is so up in the air for the fanbase right now and speculation is all we have. New Album? Live Album? Tour of any sort?
I'm definitely here for a 2020 OBH5. If current scheduling held, it would likely be the week right after my 40th.
We've been to all four and are now thinking about skipping OBH5 to try something new. I think a year off would get us back on the train.
The MMJOBH Instagram page has been keeping a pretty good flow of pictures coming.
So is it a safe bet at this point that it isn't going to happen in 2019?

probably shouldn't say publicly, but can confirm I spoke to someone directly involved.
Shy of this, it would be necessary to have resort and undercards locked down and announced by now in order to assure sales. These things typically begin to shape up 10-12 months in advance with actual announce embargoed for a few months prior to publicity and on-sale. Assuming a March '19 window, we're way beyond typical mechanics here.
So, if you have other plans for next Spring, lock 'em down kids. But don't worry or fret about the bigger picture - the guys are living their lives and will come back fresh when they're good and ready

5 - 6pm: Spanish Gold 45 minutes
6 - 7pm: Carl Broemel 45 minutes
7 - 8pm: Jim solo 45 minutes
8:30 - 10:30: Jacket 2+ hours
Tom & Bo could join in where appropriate during the afternoon.
Time slots can be adjusted, but the idea of an all Jacket day at OBH hit me this weekend and got me thinking. What does everyone think?

after what happened at OBH4 it's gonna be hard for them to ever top that....
i will forever cut myself for not going to those shows...but it was literally either NYE 2017 in Denver or OBH4.
Knowing what I know now, I think I would've still made the same decision. There's nothing like seeing THAT band on New Years Eve, just simply nothing, plus the other 2 nights of delicious deep cuts, gems, new covers etc, but the OBH4 mold of all the songs on all of the albums...plus a FULL Cobra??? Jesus...wish NYE 2017/2018 had received that Cobra, but we got one of the coolest Cobras ever: yes, it was only 5 minutes but it went straight into the Stones' Miss you! Something they'll probably never do again!

Agreed, I still have a good feeling about it. On 3/20/2019 the MMJ One Big Holiday twitter account posted a picture of the 2018 OBH4 Stage with the moon above it. The caption read "Circuits connect the earth and the moon, and link our heavenly bodies not a moment too soon" At the time I was wondering if it was a solstice reference as it was the first day of spring or what. When I posted it here parkervb said he went there and it was gone. Hum :huh:
I need it so bad, dont get me wrong looking forward to Red Rocks, but I soooo miss having OBH to look forward to in the dead of winter.
