I am looking for the live recording of mmj with the boston pops in boston in June 2006. Have tried dimeadozen, archive org, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?
This one never popped up other than a few crappy youtube videos. A recording does exist though. It just hasn't been shared yet.
Wow, I can't believe that no one has shared that show. Was the best show I have ever seen! So moving. Thanks for your reply.
I really hope some sort of release happens someday for these shows. Such a special moment in time, it would suck if it didn't get documented.
Heya BH. Read this in a Mix Magazine article a few months back. Nice that Mix has it online to read. Hopefully it will appear someday.

"Added to the FOH system, the band's touring gear now includes a 48-channel recording rig. Pickett sets up a pair of Alesis HD24s tandem to the board, loading them up with about 40 GB of mix-ready music every night. This has proven to be a user-friendly way to archive all of the band's performances, and it's far better than a straight-up board mix. "It's similar to analog in that you hit Play and Record, and you don't have to nurse it all night," he says."
Ah yes, the Alesis HD24s! ;)
That's actually great to know they are doing that. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy just to know that audio is saved somewhere in a little cocoon just waiting to someday spread it's wings.
how about a petition to release this one? ha!
I agree! I am practically desperate!
who do we have to beg?
The band and management, in that order.
yea what's the deal with mmj and management. okonokos was so good why don't they release another live dvd/cd/vinyl for the evil urges tour? dang it.lol

got a contact? I've spoken to Jim's publicist a lot but I don't think she can help here...

I'll email you.
Let's please make this happen, ASAP 8-)
I've got the recordings, but I'm not giving them to the likes of YOU people! BWHAHAHAHAHHAHA
... ok so I don't actually have them, I wish I did, if I had them- ya'll would have them too. I love you guys. :'( :'( :'(
I spoke with Ryan Pickett about this last night. He says that he only got 3-4 songs recorded well. And the Pops said they recorded it but they claim it didn't come out too well. He also said the release of this is more up to the Pops than MMj. But, he did mention the possibility of an EP...
Nice! Well done. I have a feeling the Pops are a little picky and I can't imagine a little mixing couldn't get that recording up to par. The Gideon on Letterman sounded spectacular, how could it not sound even better from that theatre?
also what about the radio city or msg shows. i know they recorded atleast the audio for radio city cause radio station played portions sometimes. i don't remember about new year's eve. i wouldn't care if the aud recording were good but they aren't really. though much appreciated.
