is Indianola near ya JY?
Very cool. I thought this was going to be a full JJ solo band tour based on an earlier interview. Hopefully that happens eventually.
I have a feeling Yac will road trip within his state.
I will be at Emo's may try to make the San Marcos show but not sure how easy it will to be to get in. Plus that is ACL Fest week and I am basically seeing shows every night that week already.

Indianola is about 2 hours away. Unfortunately, we're moving around that time (within Iowa City) and my mom is coming from NH to help out, so I won't be making this one. Don't think I didn't think about it...

Same here. Gonna be a busy week for sure.
Just got Emo's tickets. Cheapest Jim James solo show I can remember.
Possibly driving from Dallas. What time do you think he will go in at Emo's? I thought I read somewhere it is a late night show...

doors at 8:30 and I read somewhere Benjamin Booker is opening?
Nick is doing a DJ set and Sylvan Esso isn't done until 8:30 at ACL. I would guess Jim goes on around 11.
this is very cool, hopefully we can get all these evil fucks out of washington in November just in time for an early Xmas present
I got tickets to Emo's in Austin - awesome way to top off ACL
I've been told that Emo's and maybe the last show of this tour that have public access to tickets - all of the others are limited to students I think?
(so, Yac technically isn't skipping JJ lol)
I picked up tickets to the Milwaukee show without any issues but i'm wondering if the issue will be getting in without a student ID.
I'm okay with it if they turn me away, he is coming back to the city in a month anyway.
Last night was fun. Show started with Rainbow Power. Pretty similar to the version he played in Houston. Then mostly the new material. Only MMJ song was "I am Amazed". I love the way Jim is coming at politic of promoting a positive message of inclusion, love and respect. And not one of telling people who to vote for.
Was there too. His voice sounded great.
Anyone one need tickets to the Athens show? I'm doing the sponsorship for the show and have extra.
About what time is jim going on? I'm considering a hellacious drive even with the shortened set. Timing will be everything.
Thanks!
Does anybody know what kind of shoes he is wearing?

Randomly, a friend of mine paparazzi'd jim at a museum in LA a couple of weeks ago. She just happened to see him there, and snapped a stealth photo to text me. In the pic he's wearing a total beater pair of white new balance sneakers, literally coming apart and the toe seem! I think that's what he's sporting in this video too.
Jim start time anyone? Thanks!
Made it to Athens. Special night, Jim was very passionate throughout the evening.

I think this set list we have seen repeated over the course of the Future is Voting tour will make way for a more MMJ oriented setlist as the solo tour begins in November.. here's hoping anyways!
Totally get the want for more MMJ focused material. I will say that the solo material is reeeeaaaally strong in an acoustic environment. Jim's voice was pitch perfect w tons of reverb (which I like). I gotta say I wasnt sure if I was going to be dissappointed or not in the setlist. I saw him solo in Birmingham in 2006 and it was about the most jaw dropping concert experience I've ever witnessed. I had a very similar emotional experience in Athens with the sound, energy and emotion Jim brought. If the whole solo tour is similar to what I just experienced, I cant imagine a true fan feeling disappointment following the show. Sometimes a concert doesnt have to live up to preconceived expectations, it can set new ones.

Well said! I am excited to see Jim solo acoustic for my first time ever in November. It's a rare treat, and I don't know if going to one show will be enough.
When the Nov tour was announced, it did say "career spanning" so I'm predicting everyone in attendance will be happy. If he plays for 90 minutes, there should be 20+ songs.
I'm definitely looking forward to my next three shows:
This Sunday - Willie's Outlaw tour
Willie Nelson, Phil Lesh, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson & POTR, Particle Kid
Next Tuesday - Carl in LA
Two weeks from tomorrow - Jim in LA
I've got a pretty good run coming up myself that just kind of came together..
This Friday, Pond is coming to play a small show in Milwaukee.
Saturday, suprising my lady with a Tuneyards show in Chicago which is one of her favorite bands.
Next Thursday, Jim in Milwaukee.
The weekend after we are heading out to Mexico City for Corona Capital Festival
Then a few short weeks later Thom Yorke comes to Milwaukee.
That Corona Capital Festival looks great! Hope it's a blast!!

Great little run. Just peeped the Corona fest. Sunday looks great. Hopefully it's easy to hop from stage to stage.

Thanks for sharing Mr White!
And great to see Jim getting out there with his positive message to try and overcome the biased election process where gerrymandering delivers a majority of the House to a minoriy of voters and a similar situation in the Senate and oh, by the way, to the current President.
