Forest Hills Stadium August 10th
"only planned live performances of 2019"
Only planned shows until these sell out and they add more.
The only planned performances for 2019 is a bummer.

For sure, was expecting/hoping for something a bit bigger and Bonnaroo-y but I'll take what I can get.
seems a bit odd to only have one date in the biggest market, I wonder if they'll add a 2nd date should it sell well early on. I mean the cost associated with doing just one show seems like it would not be worth it. I would like to think they will add more dates but when they are adding VIP and travel packages it would be a dick move to use "only 2019 dates" to drive sales of that and then add other dates.
also probably still leaves door open for festie dates (only headlining shows is what we meant!)
Excellent Monday morning news. See you all in Forest Hills!!! Such a great venue and they absolutely killed when they played there 2 summers ago.
Big difference between "these are the only planned live performances of 2019" and (what they did not write (thankfully)): "we are planning on these being the only live performances of 2019."
As someone who cannot attend any of these 3 shows here's hoping that there will be more planned performances in coming days/weeks.
The whole thing is definitely odd: Can anyone think of any parallel? Pear Jam did Seattle Montana and Boston last year but between those 5/6 shows they could fit 300,000 people plus (and Seattle is their turf).
Anyone notice that the Red Rocks shows are almost exact 7 years to the date of their first two night Red Rock run? Those two night I consider to be some of the best MMJ shows.

This is definitely weird news. I hope this means their heading to the studio this fall, new album and OBH5 in early 2020. Then balls to the wall touring for a couple years. See you at Red Rocks!
Oh hell yes, fantastic news indeed.
I'm sure there will be more announced. I think the article meant the only shows announced at this moment.
correction - their insta confirms these are the only shows for 2019

Right right. Correct. Half a million heads. A million eyeballs (or so)
Interesting news indeed, and I'm not seeing a way to work any of these shows in for us unfortunately. I think you have to take the at their word when they say this is it for 2019...
Weird Al is playing Red Rocks the night before so that is a going to be one wild weekend of partying in Morrison.
MMJ Red Rocks 2016 was magical. probably gonna have to make this happen!
I am not happy about the lack of shows in 2019, though. I really expected them to be back in the saddle after this year off...bummer, but I'll take what I can get.
Seen them at RR so thinking of NY. How hard of a ticket will it be tomorrow?

It should be pretty easy, I think Forest Hills is all GA? There may be different tickets for floor/seats, but even then, the floor is massive.
Edit: It looks like the seats are assigned and not GA.
"Fan club and VIP pre-sales begin Tuesday, December 4th at 10am local."
Didn't Roll Call end at the end of 2017? I'm confused....
Presale Code: POOCH for those confused.
Can't make these. Really hope they announce some more!
Anyone with red rocks expertise have any opinion on how these VIP packages are going to work.
Looking at the backstage experience it says you get a reserved seat in rows 1-7.
I thought at Red Rocks the first two rows are handicap. Then it's GA, then in the middle say row 20 it's reserved.
I wonder if rows 1-7 really mean rows 20-27?

Interesting question, but I can't image they mean rows 20-27 considering the prices listed and Red Rock's ability to have assigned seats for various rows or sections.
Wish knew about roll call or fan club presales?? I guess it's just the presale code

Row 1 is handicapped, so my best guess would be that it's Row 2-8 they are talking about. But they have changed a lot of things up this past summer so who knows.
Shows can follow any configuration, so it's not always GA up front, Reserved in the middle, and GA again in the back as it has been for past MMJ shows.
The one thing to be aware of for those first few Reserved Rows - for shows this past summer I believe the first 4 or 5 rows were e-tickets that were not transferable. Not sure if that will be the case for VIP, but for regular onsale I would guess so.

They rope off those seats for VIP, usually a good section in the middle. In 2016 they were up a bit higher and the Sound Board was in the middle of VIP. I'd guess it was about rows 8-15 then. The first couple rows are Handicap but its basically below row 1

Actually those August Red Rocks dates make it a firm possibility they could do the twilight festival in salt lake again around that time. It would be a dream to hit all three . This is the question I really want answered. I'd pony up for VIP reserved if they were truly within the first 10 rows. As much as I like hanging in the parking lot all day and fighting others for a spot, I would surely love the peace of mind with having a close seat with my name on it.

It looks like a lot of shows this year have the first 5-10 rows reserved as a separate section. UM had the option of rows 1-5 GA or General GA. This is definitely referring to the first few rows FOB. The rest of the venue will be GA

I'm not sure we'll get an answer before tomorrow but i'd be willing to guess if they ended up being not in the first 8 rows you have a legitimate gripe for a refund. I think i'm going to roll the dice, assuming i can even get them.
Just for some reference, Ryan Adams back in June was Reserved Non-Transferable E-tickets for at least the first 4 rows (official Row 1 was still handicapped). GA started at best Row 5, but my buddy seems to think it might've been 7 or 8 (which would line up with what MMJ is doing here).
This is what they have been putting into place this summer to cut back on scalping.
Also, David Byrne was reserved up to Row 60, GA after. No way that's the case here, but just pointing out there is no "set' configuration for RR shows.
I'd like to know if VIP tix will account for the entire 7 rows or will those going regular sale still have an oppty at those seats as well.

I think it would be based on ticket sales but you have to think they'll be fully reserved for VIP. It really isn't that many seats.
All assumptions needless to say.

guess here:
1-7: Reserved
8-24: GA
25-59: Reserved
60-up: GA

when can i start the "I guess I won't be seeing MMJ in 2019" whine thread?? ;)
From the FAQ attached to the promotional material for the show:
"Per Red Rocks' new ticket policy, tickets purchased in Rows 1-4 are non-transferable, meaning they must be used by the original purchaser. All members of the original purchaser's ticketed party must arrive together at the venue gates for entry into the venue, and again at the designated section with these tickets. We cannot authorize any alternate pickups for an tickets in these rows. We cannot make any exceptions. More info on Flash Seats are attached below.
https://www.redrocksonline.com/flashseats"
fingers crossed for no openers at red rocks. Bring me "an evening with..." please.
Would an "evening with" show be particularly different than one with an opener?? the Fall 2016 "evening with" shows were obviously stellar but really didn't do anything different in terms of setlist length. I'm way down for either, just curious as to why people care about the "evening with" tag so much.

This ^^^
Confusing to me also, although the one time this didnt work out was Forest Hills. Gary Clark Jr opened and it was a super short MMJ show due to the 10 PM curfew.
Last Red Rocks run Fruit Bats and Barr Brothers opened, neither took away from 2 epic MMJ shows. Barr Brothers were actually pretty good

bring on OBH5.
I do feel that openers tend to take away from their time, and generally speaking I'm not interested in seeing anyone open for them.
Also just noticing this for Red Rocks, not sure how I feel about this tiered pricing.
Ticket Price:
$95.00 Reserved Rows 1-7
$65.00 Reserved Rows 29-60
$55.00 Gen Admn

Nice. Could be wrong, but to me that reads as there will be Reserved Seating in 1-7 available without going VIP route.
I think you're right. I imagine those will go real quick, especially with some being held for VIP. I'll be taking my chances though, don't want to get stuck up in the rafters for this one
curious how many tix will be available during presale vs. general onsale.
That will be interesting as they are not exactly being very exclusive with the presale.. For all its warts, I'm missing Roll Call right about now
I'm in because, well..... MMJ at Red Rocks!
That being said....is there any precedent for this short "run" after so much time off? Any reason to believe the band will be at all in fighting shape? I suppose we just take what we can get?
This would make a lot more sense if it were part of a larger festy run.

Pretty sure ticketstoday did the ticketing for Carl's whole solo tour as well
Reading the FAQ says we need to have a Flash Seats account to receive the tickets.
Q: Where will I receive my VIP tickets?
A: Starting in 2018, Red Rocks now uses Flash Seats for ticket delivery. More info on Flash Seats can be found on Red Rocks' website. https://www.redrocksonline.com/flashseats
I wonder at what point you have to create a Flash Seat account?

I would have thought they go quick but that is a lot of money to drop 700 plus for 2 people. I know you get other stuff but still.
Does anyone know where the suite is for viewing? If it's far back, or really low on the ground level on the side like some are it may not be too great for what really matters: music

The lower bowls are fine also if you don't want to stand the whole time, but yea.. GA all the way. It's a huge floor, not cramped, easy access to the concourse with drinks/bathrooms.
Awesome experience opportunity for the VIP
But looks like I will have to do the $74 GA Floor a ticket instead of $369 or $219 ones

The description says "group photo opportunity". Is that a photo of your personal group or of the entire presale party group. Doubt I'll drop the cash on this but curious just what would be included. It's not really described as a meet and greet just a photo opp.

Also a bit concerned or confused on the group photo. I'm sure a photo with the band and a bunch of you guys would be cool, but I think I'd much rather have it with just my wife and I. I imagine we won't get that one explained by tomorrow though.

So I saw the Ticketstoday links from the MMJ website but now these AXS links...does it matter which ones you go through? Also, it's annoying there is no button to purchase Fri and Saturday tickets at the same time.
It seems tickets were sold out 5 seconds into the presale.

Same. But I did the old "keep trying, someone will fuck up their CC info" approach and ended up getting tickets at 10:17.
I agree with jbpats
I actually bought an extra pair and had a hard time getting rid of it
But as far as this presale, and I've done enough to know to expect being disappointed, I was on the CID page refreshing for packages for 4 minutes before the page switched over to a clickable button. I didn't realize they were just redirecting to the forest hills site. I was hoping for vip reserved lower bowl seats and by the time that 4 minutes passed it was only GA.
Scored 2 GA for Forest Hills. Pumped!
I toyed with the super vip package but at almost 800 bucks for 2 tickets it is just too much.

You should be able to select your reserved seats for Red Rocks, new this year. Instead of the system giving you "best available".
So I saw the Ticketstoday links from the MMJ website but now these AXS links...does it matter which ones you go through? Also, it's annoying there is no button to purchase Fri and Saturday tickets at the same time.
Looks like you use this one today.

Then the AXS links for tomorrow presell. I think im going to focus on one night today, then the other tomorrow. And then what ever else i need on fridays general sale.

I did not. I'm guessing, but I don't have knowledge, that the suite will be one of the speakeasy suites. The language is a little confusing. It stresses you have a GA ticket and that you can visit the suite during the show.
I'm not sure what that means. Sounds like maybe a lounge inside with drinks snacks and a bathroom but you're watching the show from GA. And if you get real close in GA, being in early, it makes it hard to then go back to use the suite. Unless you can watch the show from the suite, the speakeasy suites are on the floor level on the sides. That would probably be pretty chill while taking advantage of the open bar, but then why do you need the GA ticket?
And looks like all vip are doing the same pre meal thing. But at some point the very vip thing gets a photo and a poster. I'm sure it will be a great time, it's just a little unclear how it all works (and a lot of $). I'm sure you'll have a blast

I used my phone as well and it was quick and easy.
Got 2 Forest Hills GA right at 10am!!!
Tickets already going for $150 on Vivid Seats... Thank goodness for the presale, and I am grateful I got through with ease.
Now we just have to wait 249 more days :cheesy:   :drum: :headphones:
Red Rocks has VIP for Early Entry General Admission. Would that get you in early enough for the first few rows between 8 and 29?

Pretty sure that is the draw for these seats. I guess it would be a perk if you dont like sitting in line all day but with how the early entry went last time, I can say anything for sure.
I must have tried at least 100 times on 2 different devices and come up with nothing. Hopefully the public sale isn't as much of a shit show.
That's my biggest worry, I'll be with my family who will definitely want to do touristy things and not wait in line for a long time before so idk if i can trust a GA ticket

The line starts early at Red Rocks, when I went in 2016 I elected for lower row reserved tickets - like 29 or so.
I wanted to spend my time tailgating with friends vs. standing in a long line.

I might do the same if I can, I would want to do the 25-28 rows of GA anyway to really experience the whole red rocks venue and not just the stage so that would make sense

Remember the rows at Red Rocks are really deep (the bench seating plus a bunch of standing room in front of the bench), which is awesome for having space, but just a few rows back and you get far away from the stage quickly. If the wind picks up, the sound turns to shit for the back 2/3rds of the venue. I would not want to be there past about row 20, but for me good sound is most important.
We did the VIP thing (reserved seats in the first three rows) for Tedeschi Trucks last summer and it was pricey, but I'm glad I did it.
If you want to get a sense of the majesty of the place, you just turn around and gape in awe!

I tried for about 15 minutes and could not get through. I am a high school teacher, so I do not have the time to have multiple pages running and all that shit..
I'm hoping that I can score a ticket to Forest Hills either tomorrow or Friday. am I to believe that the AMEX Presale tomorrow uses the same promo code? ( POOCH)

I think I have seen about 15 shows at Red Rocks over the years, I agree that the wind can mess with the sound, but I would really say anything behind row 45-50 is the potential danger zone. I've been there in some serious weather too and have not had any sound issues in the front 2/3 of the venue.
Got 3 GA for both nights, it was a breeze got lucky

Woo! Got the Hyatt Package w/ transportation to and from the venue for two nights.
So excited!
First time to Red Rocks!!

Appears that way. No luck on either night for anyone in my party. Not stressing though, other opportunity for tix.
The front 7 rows are gone for 8/2, and the reserved sections are gone for 8/3.
Still showing GA as an option both nights, but no luck finding tickets.
that was tough,
me and 2 other buddies trying to get tix for us for both nights
I was able to secure tix in reserved for 8/3 but we weren't able to get anything else
No luck here.
I got row 1 for night 1! It says they are "Reserved Rows 1-7 / ♿ Accessible Seating Only" but I definitely didn't select the Accessible Seating option.
Guess I'll just have to hope that I don't have any issues come August 2nd...
We did the Hyatt Golden package. We got reserved row 5 on side left. Hope to see/meet a bunch of Jacket fans at at the hotel!
I had two tabs open for each night. Had 2 GA tickets in my cart for both nights. put in all my info and hit purchase on both nights. Friday went through and Saturday brought me back to the home page and did not process my order for some reason. So frustrating!!! None of my friends had any luck, so I guess I'm happy I got one night locked down. Still, Saturday was in my grasp!
What a shit show. I had to somehow create a new AXS account, then merge it with a Flash Seats account, and then it dumped me onto a home page with nothing left in my cart.
RR presale was bullshit. The CID links are worthless. Why not just link the AXS page? Basically CID links were broken and added a step.
Why does the AXS site say the presale starts tomorrow? Sorry if someone else already asked this and I missed it.
No luck for me. Bummer.
Few people scored on the FB groups. I had two reserved for Friday, but was not happy with location so i dropped them, i will do better tomorrow and or Friday. Was 20 seconds behind for Saturday night on my phone, no luck. and upon my retry for Friday no luck. Remember there is another presale for RR tomorrow, on AXS. Don't let this one get you down, i bet they only had a few hundred tickets today.

Did the same for a Broncos game, during a rush to find tickets. No issues. They legally can't ask you for proof, they did make a change, and i'm pretty sure those are non transferable tickets, so you have to go! Guessing that is not a problem!

got 2 - GA tix for Saturday pretty easily - had no luck with Friday - kinda confused why a 2 day pass to RR wasn't an option???
should be able to pull some more tomorrow or friday...

That was very odd to me as well, I had 2 windows open so i managed to put them together okay but i definitely expected a "2 day pass" option
Pre-sale info will be posted on the FB link below. I will also update this page, if someone doesn't beat me to it. I don't know the details for tomorrow, but it does look like a radio pre-sale for Thursday for sure. Tomorrow could be a American Express, so sorry for that lack of detail!

My Morning Jacket

Local Presale: Thurs 12/6 10a - 10p MST
On Sale: Fri 12/7 10a MST
Click "Interested" or "Attending" in the event for updates and presale password!
I have found, some live shows, they don't release pre-sale info until about an hour of onsale time. Sometimes the night of.
I looked all over AXS event page for more details about the pre-sale tomorrow, and there is nothing posted, other then a count down timer, that starts tomorrow 10am mountain time.

I pulled row 1 for night 1 and did not select the option requesting ADA seats. I really wish I knew if it's fine and they open a few of those seats for general sale or if I'm going to get hassled by security at the show.
I called Tickets Today customer service and, to no surprise, they were of no help.

That's fairly standard for ticket sites to have that prior to purchasing seats. That said you can't ask somebody or call somebody out for not being handicapped. ESPECIALLY not in this day and age.
Just because a person can walk whose to say they aren't visually impaired or hearing impaired or lord knows whatever else. It's just too much of a liability and bad publicity for a venue to question somebodies handicap.
It sucks, and people abuse it for sure but at the end of the day it is what it is.

Does anyone know if VIP tickets will also be made available during regular on-sale?
sorry, i still can't wrap my head around this "Premium" option. so while myself (and i assume many others) clicked endlessly for $95, Row 1-7 seats on the official MMJ page, AXS was selling these same seats at $200+ a pop?

It is someone who purchased, then directly went and posted them for sale at a premium price. It is a way for AXS, and Ticketmaster, to get in on the secondary market. Think of it as an "official secondary market"

that's what i had initially thought. but then saw that they are "non-transferable". i guess that just means "non-transferable" to the second buyer then?
Those AXS premium tickets are NOT $95 a pop. It says they are, until they're in your cart and you realize your order total is upwards of $700. I'll pass.
jesus...rich people keep clicking...i just pulled Row 2 42-43 for $340/per for saturday.
this is infuriating.
Nature of the business these days. Wait till a few days before the show and pull the trigger, we'll all get in.
i just don't understand why they didn't make the initial sale non-transferable - at least Rows 1-4 which had been the case for RR shows this past summer.
Saw these articles and videos recently on the "secondary market" basically being run by Ticketmaster, etc. Watch the undercover video at the bottom of the article.

did anyone (here, facebook or otherwise) score 1-7 WITHOUT going VIP?
Was able to grab two for Friday in the 6th row, far left without going VIP. Had two for Saturday also but when I went to check out it crashed on me.
I had two tickets for Saturday, as well, and then it crashed on me, too! I was able to snag two GA for Friday but damn, i thought i was going to get lucky and get both nights...that would be too simple though.
I hate AXS, ended up with both nights, but took all damn day

I don't think it said anywhere on premium they were $95. When I was adding them to my cart I was aware of the cost.
Arrgh!
Of course my email advising of the presale went to spam folder and I only became aware of the shows 2 hours ago. Apparently, just about everything was gone in 15 seconds anyway. WTF? Did the Wall Street banks set up high-speed trading computers right outside of RR?
Would have loved to get a pair of VIPs for both days for my B-day, and maybe more will open for the public sale, but I am not hopeful and/or they will prolly be gone in 2 seconds.
Anyway, add me to the list of people wanting a pair of VIPs for both nights please...
And, who knows, maybe they will add more shows like they did last time.
I cast my vote for another ArtPark!

https://www.axs.com/events/366053/my-morning-jacket-tickets (https://www.axs.com/events/366053/my-morning-jacket-tickets)
what is that mean ?
It was listed as an Amex presale. Most likely you will need a Amex to complete the purchase.
Not for red rocks, NY only ... and that tommorow presale for Red Rocks ? is that presale for resale ?:angry:
A resale of a presale, which is before the public sale, so, technically it's a presale?

I didn't wake up in time for the presale, but when i looked at the presale page yesterday (it's still there), it lists three price points. 55, 65, 95. The 95 is for rows 1-7. Unless people are talking about the experience tickets, which were way more than that, there shouldn't have been a 400 dollar ticket.

I did though..... i figured that out a awhile after i posted. I was seeing these $95 tickets, clicking on them and it said they were no longer available. I did finally get a pair into cart, and they changed to $350+ per. So instead of fans getting that VIP deal, and The Jacket getting some more cheddar, these assholes get it. Just wait to you see the fees you have to pay AXS the next few days, some of you have seen them already. But be ready for over a 30% fee charge. I live in Denver and the city has some deal with these blow hards, and every Red Rocks show runs through AXS and any other venue the city owns.
From what i could see, these $350 AXS premium tickets were all pretty much in the middle, and within the first 4 rows. Guessing the $97 tickets were on both far sides, where the view is not that great.
The side $95 'premium' tickets were $95 when you went to put them in your cart, then when you went to check out, they changed to $300. Some weird shenanigans for sure.
Another "tip" or "word of advice" I'll add about AXS. Last week for Rolling Stones tickets, during both pre-sale and general onsale, i was in the waiting room for 20-30 minutes, while others were buying away, many others complained about this too. So budget your time accordingly. We are talking Stones at a large NFL Stadium vs two nights at Red Rocks, but don't expect anything to happen fast, tomorrow (whatever that pre-sale is), Thursday Pre-Sale and Fridays general sale.
I'm going to avoid attempting to buy that tier of ticket tomorrow. Shady shit, that's for sure.
I would be surprised if any 1-7 rows are left in the next few on sales. I could be wrong but I doubt much is left for $95 dollars
Frustrating that NOW forest hills reserved seats preparty vip is available but wasn't for the first hour after onSale, only ga
AEG Facebook account confirmed tomorrows pre-sale is AMEX. Looks like the public pre-sale is Thursday.
Can anyone spare a poster for either or both nights? Got screwed on VIP then lost my shirt on the AXS premium!!!
Total clusterf*ck. Anywho. I'll forget all about the $$s since the concert is still 9 months away.
However, I already have poster angst which will only increase over the coming months so any help is appreciated!! Drinks on me!! Shoot me a pm.
Kind regards
Rob
What a cluster of a day... I had two row three VIPs in my cart with CC information locked in. When I submitted payment, it came back with an error message and lost the tickets. Extremely frustrating!!

Right? I was in right at 10 and no Reserved option, and I didn't want GA. I randomly checked around 1PM and snagged 201 row A. Totally lucked out, but AXS sucks.
So, lets sum it up... if there will be any more official sales (for Red Rocks of course) or my only chances now are the resselers, which means double the price (min).

Because of the re directing of cid taking 4 minutes I assumed those seats sold out and I bought the ga. You have the seats I was so hoping to get right at 10. It's frustrating. Congrats on those seats !

But I was in at 10 and there was no Reserved option at all, only GA. AXS "screwed up", probabaly on purpose, and enough people probably called CID that they released some Reserved. At least that is my theory.

Correct and tomorrow's presale password is geetar
UGH.. the AMEX presale says the passcode is the number on the back of the card- without dashes. that IS NOT working... wtf-- this is such a frustrating process...
Not sure if it helps but seems there is a 'Preferred' Amex and then another more general Amex pre-sale option below the ADA option. I was able to get through without a password on that one.

Pretty sure you will have to use an Amex to check out - I didn't actually purchase, but got to the enter your credit card details screen (managed to get tickets for the Queens show yesterday) as I was just doing a dry run for Red Rocks at noon
Such a cluster! For what its worth, AEG facebook account (Red Rocks promoter) is telling people on the FB event page the password for today is also geetar. Just in case someone whats to try that, but i do think thats bad info, as the event page is showing geetar for tomorrows code.

so AXS is doing a public presale tmrw? no amex card required? this has been a brutal presale...i'm getting scared!!
Passed on the reserved seats it was spitting out... all were on the far sides, or high up. I also don't have a AMX card, so i was kinda playing around. Reserved Seats will cost you $85 per and GA $74.

Pre sale this morning offered a 2-day pass option.
Looks like almost nothing but GA though.
Best reserved seating I found was row 44, far right side.
The ticket gods smiled down upon me this morning! Somehow snagged 4th row seats for RR Night 2!!! SICKKKKKKKK!!
Since these tickets are non-transferrable, I've just locked in my first trip to Red Rocks!! WOOO!!
when I cart tix they are gone out of my cart within seconds. every time.
tells me "We are sorry but the time to purchase your tickets has run out." before I can do anything
anyone else experiencing this? I'm already logged in, I pull tix, hut buy, it makes me log in again, and then within 2-3 seconds every time it says I ran out of time to buy the tickets. WTF?!
i can't even get past the stupid fire hydrant/bus/store front picture clicking bullshit to even try. my buddy says he's not getting those at all.
this has been the most frustrating ticket experience ever. one more try tomorrow then i'm forgetting about this until late july when people will inevitably be dumping tix.

Heck yeah!!! At least some folks here are getting awesome seats. I thought (like usual) it was a farce and those tickets were already earmarked for people with big $. I've tried for reserved seats each pre-sale but never got a sniff at actual seats (regardless of price). I can't complain, I got high reserved or GA and will be in attendance. Are you like me and being too picky? Because if you are trying for any kind of ticket GA or middle reserved, you should have had plenty of time yesterday, during the AMEX and today. This morning, Friday night and two day ga had tickets well after the start time, probably 40 minutes to an hour after 10am. I did notice, Saturday seemed to sell out much fast then Friday.
I don't have tickets bc i'm being too picky, have had plenty in my sight, just keep waiting, which might burn me at the end.
I do know a lot of people missed out on the vips.
So if you can't score anything, something is not right. And not sure what to tell you to do, other then try something different, and try tomorrow on public sale.

Sorry to hear that! I do not think AXS is easy to work with, i do have some experience using them as i'm forced to living in Denver. The AMX presale had two links per event, one link didn't seem to work, the others many scored. What threw people off, they were reranagned for both events, something that tricked me and a few others at first. It was something like one link was "AMX Preferred" and the other was just "regular AMX", i still have yet to found anyone that can explain the two. I don't think this is going to sell out within a hour or two tomorrow.
Got my Forest Hills ticket. Can't wait to see them again. Hate how pricey the tickets are at that venue but they've definitely improved it a lot since re-opening. Should be a great night. Hoping no opener and the boys play long.
Hundreds of tickets up on Stubhub a minute after onsale. Good job, AXS!

Also... I'm still not a robot.
welp, i'm going back to bed. reminds me of the chicago ticket market. i'm assuming the secondary market will become way over saturated and they will be selling them for below face value at some point.
that.. or the demand for MMJ is just that high... and i don't see how that's possible right now.
The Scalpers won today! Do not buy tickets right now, it will be the most expensive time. You will find tickets at cost, i have already seen people selling tickets. DO NOT BUY FROM TRASH SCALPERS RIGHT NOW. And i know nobody wants to wait, but people will be dumping tickets the week of, every show i've been too it happens. Also i have used this site in the past. Its great, at cost tickets.
cashortrade.org
this year, David Byrne Red Rocks tickets were going for $300 and found tickets on Cashortrade.org for list price.
If you want to waste money, buy from the secondary market this week. If you want cost tickets, wait the week of and keep your eyes open starting now. I know some of you are not on Facebook, or don't like the FB groups, but it will be a good place to buy tickets at cost. I've already seen someone trying to sell vip tickets.

this. i don't even want to think about this again until late july. i likely won't be getting 2-7 which is what i was hunting this week, but i'll be ok with GA then.
the worst part is - and i hope this isn't the case with these shows - this tiered pricing can ruin the vibe of a show. Wilco did something similar the last time they played Red Rocks, and all the hardcore (non-rich) fans were in Row 8 or further with most people up front sitting thru the whole show. it was definitely noticed by the band too.
and if i never see a damn traffic light, bicycle or sketchy storefront again i'll be a happy man

Been to most all the Wilco Red Rocks shows too, and i would agree 100% with you. And have noticed this for a few other bands too when i have decided to splurge and get down low. Its like wtf am I doing here around these duds!!! I had so many opportunity's to buy tickets this week, i feel stupid. But i have never seen a Jacket show sell out instantly. I never pulled good reserved, so my back up today was to buy whatever...... that backfired. I'm cool though, I'll get tickets, like you said, it might not be exactly what i wanted, but we all will get tickets at cost, if we wait. Another advantage I have, personally I've maxed out my budget for live music this month, for almost the year of 2019, and xmas doesn't help. So i'll keep that cash for 8 months now. But, having tickets would have been cool too!
New management company + new ticketing service and now a ton of tickets are going straight to re-sell sites? Yeah, OK this is some bulllllllshit.
Have 1 extra single reserved for Red Rocks Night 1 & Night 2. Selling for face value (what I paid).
Night 1 is Row 42 Center View
Night 2 is Row 53 Left View
Prefer to sell both ticket to 1 single buyer.
PM me if interested
Something definitely seems fishy. I know this is Red Rocks and not First Bank Center in Broomfield over the holidays last year but the NYE run wasn't sold out any of the nights. Now everyone got their ticket and filled up the 10k capacity at Red Rocks 30 minutes after the general public sale. Seems odd. I'm happy I got my tickets for all 3 shows when I did but I'm shocked there's no GA available or anything right now for many of the hardcore MMJ fans still searching. Good luck to everyone still looking.
Oh well, if the alleged last shows rumors are true, maybe I don't want to go to see them from a horrible seat at RR anyway and will live on with the memories of my last MMJ shows as seeing them do all the albums at OBH4. It really is hard to beat that.
That said, if someone had a VIP backstage, or otherwise great tix, they could offload to me, that could certainly change my mind!

I hear you. But they have to use AXS. The city of Denver has a shady deal with AXS. All city owned venues have to use AXS for tickets. City of Denver owns Red Rocks. The exception is Mile High, and thats because the NFL contract and NFL in general is more powerful then the city of denver. Regardless, i have seen so much shady shit with AXS this week, they make Ticketmaster look like saints! I have always had to use them, and they were always very average "service", but this week, wow. Lots of BS going on!

You are right, but NYE in Denver, in a small arena vs Primo summer time at Red Rocks. Still, 20,000 tickets.... They are not that popular here in Denver. So do we really have 5,000 or so people traveling in for this event?? The ticket system is so shady, its a machine, that is worth so much money, the secondary market will never go away. I sometime wonder how many bands take advantage of it too? I don't think the Jacket does, but you some bands do. You know ticketbrokers, promoters, venues are getting a cut. Hell sometimes all three of those are the same company! There could be a few things fixed, where the secondary market could be killed, but the folks in charge don't want that.

pretty sure they did in 2016 but it took a while. I could be wrong. It was definitely packed and I thought it was sold out.
Yeah, for sure on a prime Red Rocks weekend in the summer. No denying that. We all knew they'd sell it out, just shocking at how fast they did and how difficult it's been for the folks who really want to get basic tickets to obtain them. With that said, our group of 6 is coming from Michigan. Can't wait for the shows. One day this industry won't be so GD corrupt.
I have no doubts there are hundreds, if not thousands, of tickets being held back. Only question is when they'll drop. Be diligent folks!
The Saturday show sold out fairly early but the Sunday show was not sold out until a week or two before the date.
Speak of the devil, they just dropped a tonne, for Friday anyway.
Fuck!!!! This is scary ! I'm soooo hoping tickets are available after these sales. Very happy for a lot of you, really really wanting to join you all. you'll get your ticket, it's 8 months away and lots will change for people who have tickets now.
Might they add another RR show(s)?
No worries on tickets guys and gals. You may just have to spend an extra $20 or so for them if that. Axs did what Axs does. They only make a small percentage of the tickets available on the on sale dates and a large percentage of the tickets go to the secondary market. Just look at how many tickets were on stub hub before the onsite date and then minutes after the on sale time. The market will not bear the inflated stub hub prices and prices will come down a lot. Live in Denver, seen it happen numerous times. Axs is the worst. You get placed in the waiting room while scalping agencies are pulling all the tickets in the first 2-3 minutes with their bots all known by Axs.
The ticket situation sucks, for sure.
So, in my depression I was wallowing on Youtube and decided to watch this clip to pick up my spirits. Then I came to a moment of clarity and thought: man, if the Jacket hit the lights before taking the stage on night 2 and let us sit in darkness for a second, blasted this thing on the screens and then immediately launching into One Big Holiday...Red Rocks would erupt into madness.
There would be riots. The good kind.
Apparently, I have tried to purchase tickets so many times that every few times I go to the axis.com site now I receive a pop up that says "Pardon Our Interruption As you were browsing, something about your browser made us think you were a bot. There are a few reasons this may happen" blah blah blah... to enter, I had to click and then a slide bar pops up that I had to match a piece of puzzle up with.

I was wondering how almost every show i follow, has extra tickets a week before, sometimes the night before!!! "good seats just released" you do this with AXS and you see those $350 tickets! But with another broker i did see list price for Thom Yorke.... The accounting department just found them???
Anyone else like to chime in on this deep scan? I mean, there are already parameters set up, thats how some were scoring after the fact today. And my next question, with this deep scan, I've seen hundred of events sell out like this, they didn't do a deep scan??? But what if MMJ could put some pressure on AXS for all the fuck ups this week? And so many acts of shadiness? WE will see. This next release will probably be a 2 limit.
And someone ask, but Red Rocks is probably booked Sunday, even though its not on calendar. They book a year out. and May-September there is very rarely an night empty. Weird Al is playing Thursday night.

yeah and all these people on twitter praising the band for this vague "action" that hasn't happened yet and won't really help that much anyways because they don't say when and with what notification more tix will be released and how they will do things different to get these tix to fans and not to scalpers and the official resale market that AXS, through their own AXS Premium and the business relationship they and StubHub have officially set up together.
I'll praise the band for their actions if they do something meaningful to avoid this issue in the future like the things Pearl Jam and Springsteen have done to try harder to get tix to actual fans. I'm afraid there is very little they can do for these Red Rocks shows at this point unless they round up a bunch of good tix and sell them mail order only to people they can verify are true fans or something like that. That would take a ton of money and effort on their part, but it could be done, its been done before.
I believe the band really care, but I don't think they did nearly enough on these Red Rocks shows to get tix to true fans I'm pretty fucking disappointed.
So try as I might, I can't seem to locate anything that speaks to How lining up at Red Rocks for GA entry will now be different compared to 2016. Roll Call is dead right? But they did sell some Early Entry tickets of some sort didn't they? You almost need a storyboard to accommodate all the confusion and details with this ticket sale so far! Thanks for your replies!

Yeah the band are probably sitting around reading the forum thinking to themselves "these damn ungrateful fans complaining about not being able to get ANY tickets to the only three shows we are doing in the foreseeable future because the vast majority of them went to legal scalping organizations which we could have prevented if we tried real hard, I think we should extend our hiatus because of them!".

Funny stuff right there :)
I do hope roll call is rebooted. While not perfect, it ran like a swiss watch compared to these presales. After missing on the VIP presale, I paid the AXS premium price. With roll call, I never missed a presale. There is something to be said for.giving the paying fan club member 1st choice, rather than a presale where the scalpers run wild.
All that being said, I cant wait for these special shows.

Also, why is it that most of the posters on this site can't even stomach the idea of being critical of this band? Yes, they could have done something to ensure fans got the tickets. Their managers, their reps are an extension of the band. If their reps mess up, it's on the band. Plus, the band members are human beings. They mess up. It's OK. And it's perfectly OK for us to not be 100% on board with everything they do and to post about it. This is a discussion forum, not an alter.
Any you know what? If the band reads posts from their fans - fans who, mind you, congregate on THEIR website to talk about all these different aspects of the band, to celebrate them, to share stories about them, to talk about shows, etc - about how they are frustrated with not being able to procure tickets, if they read all of that and then decide to not play shows, then the hell with the band. That's lame.
That said, I don't think in a million years, THAT would be what they would take away from it. If you were in their place, how would you take it? I know for one, I'd try to do something about it. And I would do my best to make sure it never happens again.
The scalper sweeps are a great step. I don't know how much can be done at this point, but I certainly appreciate the effort.
Quit treating these guys like they are some fragile little animals that can't take a bit of criticism or feedback. They are career musicians...they can certainly handle it.
Regarding ticket sweeps.
Avett Brothers tickets went on sale Onsale Fri, Nov 16, 2018. I received the following email yesterday "Hello friends, A limited number of tickets for all 3 nights at Red Rocks will be available for purchase tomorrow, 12/14, at 10am local venue time. Some orders placed last month exceeded the posted ticket limit; those tickets have already been pulled back and will be on sale to the public tomorrow."
If we have similar timing, it's possible additional tickets may become available in early January.

This is kind of making me mad. I checked this morning and there weren't any, then they were mysteriously released, now they're gone.
Are tickets for these shows seriously already sold out? They literally sold out within minutes? I know they're popular and I love them to death but I can't believe they'd sell out that quickly.
I'm seriously going to probably just sell my day 1 tickets if I can't get day 2. I can't spend $1000 to fly out there and get a place to only see one night.
I'm being a baby backed bitch, aren't I!

Add me to this list as well. We saw this same type of worry for T5, The Cap theater shows, etc and there were always tix to be found.
I have no doubt they'll be plenty of tix around as we get closer to the shows and as long as people don't panic buy, we'll definitely see a drop in the cost of tix on StubHub. There are a ton of tix up there and the prices will drop the longer they stay up there.

Nahh- we all get it- but don't stress/ sell your tickets until like July ( they will sell immediately if you should chose that option)
Also, should you not get into both nights- there's A LOT to see around Redrocks/ Denver area. just make the most of it and enjoy your time.

I want to go out to Colorado soooooo bad!!! Haven't been for over 20 years! I had a friend in college who's family had a condo in Breck and a group of us would drive out and meet up for a week there every summer! this is just sad...gutted....i need to be there
I have two GAs for Forest Hills if anyone is looking, face.
There's a handful of re-sale tickets available on Axs.com. About $300 per ticket after fees. StubHub and Vivid Seats have way more tickets, but still pricey.

Lon, I PM'd you in December. I was under the impression you wanted my extra 2 tickets for each night. I also PM'd you yesterday. Do you want these or not? If not I have a 2nd person to reach out too.
Thank you
Matt
Matt, if you hit me up, I'll take those tickets. Thanks

Yep, they're yours if you want them.
I might have spoken too soon. I just saw I had a PM from yesterday someone wanting the tickets, didn't get a notice or anything. Only fair to give them 1st crack. Sorry, I suck at the interwebs.

Question on Red Rocks seating -
On VividSeats, I see tickets listed by row and they say either Left, Right, or Center view. Are there specific seats (spots, I know there aren't actual seats) assigned? Or is it just a row number in whatever section you're in (left right or center)?
Will probably do GA both nights but I'd love to get closer one night. Just wanted to know what I was buying.
If anyone has extras for either night lemme know!

makes sense and yes seat space is numbered
I'm just wondering why the seat numbers aren't listed on the tickets that are for sale. All they say is "center view."
Same situation on StubHub, seat number is blank.

From what I have seen and bought, this is standard on Stub Hub. I wouldn't be concerned with the center seats. The center section is pretty much the stage & speakers width wide. You can see the center, left, and right section break down on the Axs ticketing site by trying to buy tickets. When the seating map comes up you can move your cursor over the sections. If you google Red Rocks seating charts you can also find charts that show how many seats across a row is.
a friend is telling me something about AXS not allowing ticket transfers for Red Rocks shows? WTF? Anyone know anything about this?

Confirmed. The app allows ticket holders to sell, but the sale has to go thru Axis.

This is crazy. They must realize people buy four tickets, and not everyone in the group will arrive at the same time. So in this scenario, you can't even give a ticket away to a friend who may be arriving late. If this policy has been ongoing, then I guess that's the way it is. But if this is something new, I think they'll have to amend the policy.
Definitely not normally the case with AXS/flash tickets. It's ALWAYS been an easy thing to transfer the tix to anyone else, no charge no hassle. This is total BS. Nothing at all was stated at purchase, only the deal about the first 5 rows could not be transferred.

Good to know. This is BS.
It's kind of confusing. It seems like you can get in the door with the AXS app and Flash seats app. I originally thought it was just Flash seats, but the tickets are in the AXS app so I guess we don't need Flash.
Local venues in my area (Washington DC) use Ticketfly, which is great and straightforward or TM.
"The promoters for this event have requested that the transfer not be enabled to prevent resale of tickets through unauthorized third party resale sites. This restriction is usually removed a few days before the event so that people who arriving in split parties can divide up their tickets" Thanks AXS TEAM

I call bullshit. Why would AEG care about this? What I assume is really going on is AXS being greedy and only allowing resale of tickets to go on through them where they can take yet another cut of the ticket money. They basically just decided that they are the only "authorized resale site".

100% Agree Walter. AXS is really saying "Nobody's making money but us"
Does that mean you cannot buy tickets through StubHub or Vivid Seats? StubHub indicates that the ticket is a Flash Seats Transfer.

Agreed... What BS. I guess we're holding tickets until week of show. Why can't there be a process to track these flash seats? Surely they could allow a single transfer of the tickets, not allow multiple transfers. You'll have folks selling tickets, but holy crap we do live in a free market system.
Quote from: PJAMVedder on Mar 12, 2019, 10:44 AMis there a site for axs resale?
Yes, AXS has their own re-sale system called AXS Premium. However there are no tickets available there. But if you click the standard tickets link on this page, there are a few tickets being sold at elevated prices.

Does this mean purchasing tickets on Stub Hub and Flashseats is ok?
The transfer thing will get sorted out. There's just no way it won't.
What I'm wondering is how long these guys on stubhub are going to keep their prices at 150+. I would like to think I can just wait until the day of and pay around 100. Tickets sold out way too fast for me to believe that it's predominately MMJ fans that bought them.
Things have really changed since 2012. That year, face value GA tix plus the early entry and a few hours of waiting in line got me row 4 dead center. Every single year since then it's gotten worse. More and more of that lower section is getting roped off for VIP and even with early entry and a long wait it's very difficult to get in the first 10 rows.
Stubhub has row 5 for 900 dollars a ticket. lol. For MMJ. I love the band more than most people but that's insane.
I'll still be there no matter what, but christ..

I think the transfer thing is done figured out -- I transferred one of my extras to a pal the other day. I still have one more extra GA for Saturday night if you want it (PM me). 2012 was truly the last easy time to be an MMJ fan...  These days, the first few rows at Red Rocks is such madness that I'll be happy taking it easy tailgating in the lot and hoping for a nice spot in the 24th row.
These ticket prices are insane. After getting shut out during all three onsales, I just said fuck it, and got gouged from AXS "premium" for 450/ticket each night 3rd row center. It was really an act of buyer aggression, and credit card malfeasance, because I was so pissed off after getting shut out. Lol.
Now it seems like a rational decision with prices continuing to escalate.
Will be my 37th show but 1st trip out to RR.
Just checked and a pair on row 7 runs for $2,400!!!!
Whoooooaaaaaaa
tickets will be available for face if you just keep a persistent eye out. Our group still needs a couple too. Do not pay scalper prices.
I still need some too. Hope they fall.
I'm hoping they fall too!!!
They always do.
QuoteThey always do.
Agreed!
are you all really that confident that prices will fall and there will be enough for all the fans?
i'm an avid showgoer and have luckily been to red rocks several times (used to live in colorado) but amidst all of these rumors i'm worried that ticket prices will remain high all the way through (as i have seen for other shows i watched on stubhub, albeit smaller venues).
i'm considering buying tix and flights for me and my best friend for their birthday. mmj is basically the only band on our bucketlist we haven't seen, and red rocks is special to us...i'm concerned that ticket prices will continually increase until the show and it also seems like so many fans are waiting for prices to fall or planning to score on lot, so it feels like we're really gonna be pushing our luck. and i hate the idea of buying from scalpers. sorry for the essay, but this is something that has been turning over in my mind for the last couple of months haha.
should i buy flights anyways and hope for the best? either lower scalper prices or tix on lot?

I usually suggest buying plane tickets first. Those are almost guaranteed to go up as the date approaches, while the show tickets will generally stay the same or even go down. Knock off the travel expenses and then keep an eye out for tickets. I usually check a couple times a week.

Sage advice. Flights and lodging will be way more costly than tickets.
Between my buddy and I, we'll most likely have 2 or 4 reserved seats in row 40something for Friday. Once confirmed, I'll check here to see if anyone needs or wants. We'll know in a few weeks, and I'm sure others will have for face and wouldn't be at all surprised if AXS did another ticket drop in July. I'm pretty sure that happened in 2016. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks for your advice y'all...finally made up my mind and bought plane tix. Figured it'd be worth it haha! Will keep an eye out for show tix and try my best but have accepted that I may have to buy from scalpers. Cheers
Hi all! I'm planning on taking the trip out from Cleveland, OH to Red Rocks for the show with a friend, but I was late to the party in terms of getting tickets. Checking Red Rocks' website for tickets shows that a GA seat is $150+ per ticket, and these are resale through their website. Is it the best bet to go through RR's website to snag two tickets? Or should I hold off like wavesofsomething did above? I'm assuming RR's website would be the best place to find tickets at a somewhat-reasonable price. Thoughts?
i'm at peace with the idea of not being able to make it now...i know it'll disturb me the more I think about it, thus I've been avoiding the forum. But fuck, I'm going to do a lot of extra shifts (as I recently have) to make this happen. Just going to take a while.
But what i'm most wondering about, really, is why the hell there hasn't been a Jacket live album like they'd planned, mixed and even had ready for the final parts from Jim and it was done...basically the cover and it was done...where is that??? This Tennessee Fire reissue feels slightly incomplete too as we ALL know there HAS TO BE a mountain of footage of Jim playing and extra stuff. What they've included looks off the wall and potentially UNHEARD, but there's always a ton more. these guys have been documenting a lot, so have others around them.

1) You'll be there, dude. We put a man on the moon, we can get you to Red Rocks.
2) Who the fuck knows man. CAN WE PLEASE JUST GET SOME KIND OF WORD ON THE BAND'S PLANS??! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! ahahah hopefully I'll make it. It's my top priority, it's just money had to go a few different ways the last month or so.
It's very bizarre...a completed studio album, possibly two, a completed live album, maybe two completed live albums considering the Beacon shows aren't the only shows Ryan mixed, he also mixed the Iroquis 2016 and RR2016 shows so.....even if they don't wanna release it officially with a case and a cover and a booklet and a DVD and all of the stuff US FANS WILL DROP A LOT OF MONEY TO MAKE IT WORTHWHILE....then fine, but release the live music on nugs....something....the fact the NYE run hasn't been heard in soundboard form except the 12/31-1/1 show is a kind of criminal act. Those first two nights set lists were unbearably good.
The Jacket will have so much in store for us I feel...it's just they've lost a lot of time for these shows to stay relevant...we all know how quickly this band moves, although let's be honest about one thing: they've kind of kept the same stage show, lights, etc since the beginning of the Waterfall cycle, with a few bells and whistles added for the NYE run...and I don't mind...it's one of the greatest things ever...the way their 2015 RR show was filmed is something we'll always treasure....
I just wanna get baked with Jim James, damnit

Let's hope and pray that Pat Myers is there!

Yeah, I hear you. I was thinking if they do a no-repeat run, we'd definitely get TFF over the three nights, given the timing. Either way, it's going to be fun seeing what they play.

I would say no repeats at Red Rocks but Forest Hills will be open game.

I think this is likely. Red Rocks gets two unique sets and Forest Hills I would guess is all the staples with a few rarer gems tossed in, hopefully some of which were not also played at Red Rocks.
Still waiting for prices to go down...
I'm sure there will be another drop, but someone on StubHub posted some (comparatively) reasonably priced reserved tickets in the 32nd row and I couldn't help myself.
Hurts to take that hit but now I'm 100% IN BABY!

I was just given the responsibility to get them for 6 of us for my buddy's 40th that wasn't planned until after the on sale. We'll be there one way or another though.

I agree with this as well. I would expect Forest Hills to be a summary of the Red Rocks shows.
Anyone at the Forest Hills show last time around? Just wondering how crowded the floor gets; easy enough to move around down there?

It was pretty crowded where we were about 1/3-1/2 of the way back but still were able to move around. Definitely pretty packed in front of us though, but I'm not sure how packed it was behind us as far as all the way back goes.

Yea from the videos it looks like front 1/3 or so was packed, but couldn't tell further back. I usually hang in the back half where there is more room, but some venues seem to oversell the floor, or people stub down, and it just makes it unbearable
So I've never been in the reserved section at red rocks - are the spots pretty spacious? Does it become kinda fluid as the show goes on? I'm just curious because I've never been in a reserved section with assigned spots but no chairs.

it's all the exact same, GA, reserved...all the same as far as the seating/space goes. It's all kind of a joke too, anyone in reserved can just go into the GA, and the opposite is the case too.

That's how I've found it too, Walter. Pretty laid back as far as that goes unless you're in one of the first couple of rows.
As for room, it's one of the most spacious venues I've been in with actual rows and assigned seats. Room enough in a row to have someone stand in front of you if you wanted, and also have the wide bench to stash your belongings under.

Yeah thats kinda what I was wondering, how much the reserved spots are really enforced. I had GA in 2016 and the line before the gates opened was CRAZY. Will my reserved tickets actually do me any good with a closer spot, or does it just turn into a free for all? Any advice on how to get into rows 20-30ish?

I went in 2015 and both 2016 shows, imo if you bought a reserved ticket you should sit in your seats, as the night goes on, yes people start to move around some, we would stay in our seats and by the end of the night have much more room than we started with. That being said i would think if you show up a song after Jacket has started and someone is in your reserved seat, you may have some trouble getting them to leave but hopefully they're not jerks

i know this sounds like a dick-move, but seriously, if I paid for those seats and someone is sitting in them and the band is already playing (which would only be occurring if something serious had happened, i'm always early to shows) I WOULD PHYSICALLY MOVE THEM IF THEY'D REFUSE. it would be like OK, GET UP! NOBODY IS FUCKING WITH OUR JACKET EXPERIENCE. literally grab a piece of pizza and shove it in their face, forcing them to move to de-sauce their eyes
What do we think about horns? with only 4 shows on the table, it seems like a good possibility they'd have them but you never really know.
This digital ticket thing is so confusing. My brother transferred his tickets to me using Flash Seats. But I got the email from AXS and can see the tickets in the AXS app. I have a Flash Seats app & account too, but nothing shows there. Are people going to be able to enter with either the AXS or Flash Seat apps?

i would call the box office to ask since the venue ultimately decides what's acceptable and not.
I sent an email to AXS Guest Services. But I think this was user error. I can now see my tickets in BOTH apps, which is still stupid that there are two apps for this. Still confusing in that Flash Seats wants you to register a credit card or drivers license that will be swiped as you enter the venue, but AXS does not mention that.

Totally agreed. This two app thing is crazy and unnecessarily confusing. I'll be bringing both apps, credit card (though I don't know what card I used back in December to make the purchase), and license (thanks for the reminder to "register" that stuff)........ hopefully that will be good enough to get in without causing a major back up with the ticket scanner. Unlike most apps, the AXS one makes me login and remember my password almost every time.
Anyone know anything about early entry for Red Rocks?
Quote from: Stevie on Jul 26, 2019, 09:01 PMAnyone know anything about early entry for Red Rocks?
The only thing I saw about it was it being offered as part of the VIP packages. Without a Roll Call membership available, I'm thinking there probably isn't going to be the usual type one for these or the NY shows.
Fingers crossed it and Roll Call returns for the next tour.
So would it be safe to say there will be a line of canopies and such stretching down the side of the unpaved parking area like last time? We are fortunate to be staying in Morrison. I just don't want to spend all day Friday sitting in a line where it appears I going to be getting in a spot right behind VIP Early Entry only to have something change it up last minute.I'm happy to wait in line like others. I just don't want to do it if it doesn't make any difference. Yeah I miss Roll Call too...
First show for me. Forest Hills! I'm pretty excited. Been a fan for a few years but never had a chance to catch a show. For those who are familiar with Forest Hills:
How's the parking around the venue?
Are there any places to eat near the stadium, or even in the stadium?
Thanks guys 🤙🏼

Couldn't agree more, well written, love the passion and how well you explain why these guys evoke it from us. Been forwarding this to a number of friends and family that are getting tired of me raving about them. All positive comments back - thanks Lonn!
I desperately need a pair of tickets for tonight. I used to go to MMJ shows at Red Rocks all the time, but missed last three summers while in the Peace Corps. Everyone kept saying the price would go down and they haven't. Can anyone help me? Please DM
Wanted to share an issue that seems to be as much an issue with Red Rocks and VIP seat goers. We were first in line at the Upper South Gate. I'm no Division 1 Athlete but I can get with it pretty well in the cardio game. After getting our tickets scanned my daughter and I were the first in only to find almost the rows numbered from 8-15, all of them in front of the stage were being saved by VIP seat holders. We were in contact via text with folks at the North entry and they weren't let in early. Just kinda sad to see out of VIP seat holders when these are the same folks we've seen years before at other shows waiting patiently to get in and would have been some of most vocal if others did this to them. Well karma tends to go where it is needed. Sorry for my unmerited rant. I'm inside, edge of stage left in front of Jim in row 13. I'll stop now. Now to just.... Breathe out and enjoy...
They sold a boatload of VIP packages. Tons of people at the Golden VIP who got early GA access. But I agree it sucks that they save seats for people who aren't there.

Finally got one face value and one for $250. I'm grateful that Chrispy remembered me after a few years absence and helped us get great seats. Steam Engine was incredible!
It seemed that most of the fans were from out of state, and I am so happy you got to experience Red Rocks. All is good in my little world today after that show. The Rolling Stones next week!

This Summer tour comes to a close.
We had some ultra few rarities at the Cap aka smoke weed and die R US, we had two semi greatest hitsy shows at Red Rocks both just under or over 2 hours 40 minutes and had loads of fantastic energy, immaculate performances and some extremely bizarre but welcomed lyrical improv by Jim, the longest Steam Engine ever and then it seems a 20 song show at Forest Hills. I need to know what went down cause it looks a little light but Steam into Phone hasn't happened since Red Rocks 2015 i think. Maybe im wrong.

Lonn my brother it was a little lite but we knew that going in. Forrest Hills is a quaint little village like town with a hard curfew of 10:00pm for shows. In fact I'm sure lots of the towns people would rather not even have shows at the hallowed venue, which sits right dab in the middle of their village.
Beautiful little charming town though and I like going there's and hanging out on those grounds is pretty cool too. Lots of performers have headlined there in addition to all the tennis greats and US Opens played there.
I met lots of folks from this forum this weekend I'm pretty sure, if you met the tall 20 year old named James then hey!
Forest Hills is definitely in a weird place but it was a real cool venue once things got going. Obviously a greatest hits type of set but we knew that coming in and they absolutely shredded it. It's been a great summer.
Hey everyone. I just wanted to take a minute to (re)introduce myself. My name is Kelly Downes, the former MamaKel. I wanted to get back on the Forum because I want a place to talk about all this epic music without the architecture of social media. I look forward to many conversations with everyone.
By the way, I have named the end of the Cap version of Butch Cassidy "the Krishna Dub remix" because what an adventure THAT was...whew. I feel like I have known a lot of the basic jam structures since 2011, and EVERYTHING from these past 4 shows has been turned on its head. The Steam from Red Rocks must feel like what it was like to be on those first Apollo missions into space...or those Gravitron machines that the astronauts have to sit in before they can go into space? The musical equivalent of THAT.
Anyways, old friends and new, it has been a while, and I look forward to many musical ruminations.

Welcome back. Your writings like the one above when you compare MMJ moments to what astronauts feel when they're in outer space are a welcome breath of fresh air.
The Steam and PWW from Red Rocks were unforgettable. Add Dondante too to that list. Everyone was floating in space during those tunes.
