Lucille Furs
Nanami Ozone
Hoping for:
Angel Olsen
Whitney

I thought I read somewhere that there's kinda a rift in the band right now, probably could get another side project though. I hope I'm wrong about reading that, Sound and Color was amazing and I need them active again.

Twerps
Unfortunately Twerps are no more. But lead singer Martin Frawley has announced a solo album due in February!
Sturgill been talking an album for a while now, imagine it's 2019
Some some scuttlebutt about a Raconteurs album, would LOVE that. My favorite non White Stripes Jack White band
that would be great. they're my favorite JW band.

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR. I missed seeing them in 2006 (had to move) and will not miss them on a tour next year.
few others:
Vampire Weekend
Silversun Pickups
The new Deerhunter is already "out there" and it is fucking fantastic. Not even 2019 yet and I already have a contender for album of the year.
Ryan Adams recently announced a new album and said on Twitter "Remember when I put out 3 albums out in a year? Let's do that again". looks like Benmont Tench makes another appearance on a DRA record as well as Bob Mould
oh yea, Jason Isbell produced Josh Ritter's latest album so that might be worth checking out
Add Sleater Kinney to the list coming this year.

Your enthusiasm for music and consistency in articulating that excitement so well is really terrific. Thank you. And I'll be listening to them soon.

Right there with you on the new Deer Tick. Curious about the new BNQT - do you know if it's new vocalists or the same guys as before?

The two "rumored" additions I was excited about were Shakey Graves and John Paul White...
Jason Lytle seems to be more active in the area, playing a solo show for NoisePop in SF soon. I heard a few years ago he had an Elliott Smith related project in the works, then BNQT got announced. I'll buy just about anything he does, but would REALLY love to see what he can do with ES material.
Just got the new Steve Gunn last night. I'm excited to check it out. Anybody heard it?

I got the LP a couple days ago and I love it -- though so far for me it doesn't have stuff quite as groovy as that on Eyes or Way Out, but the songs are deep and juicy. He is a damn geetar wizard and I can't wait to see him this spring!

Have you heard the Admiral Radley album? I dig it. Jason & Aaron Butch from Grandaddy teamed up with Aaron Espinoza (he did the the soundtrack for This Is Your Day with Jason) and Ariana Murray of Earlimart (another great band). I was lucky enough to see them open for Band Of Horses many years back in Vegas, they put on a great show.
I'm excited that Foals are releasing two albums this year. "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost" Parts 1 & 2. First volume coming in March with the second later this year. Hoping to finally catch them live this year too, I've heard great things!
Also hoping/anticipating/awaiting announcements for new records from Blondie, Lucius, Band of Skulls, Kaiser Chiefs, Hot Chip, Santigold and Ladyhawke who have all been teasing studio time.
The new White Lies album is also shaping up quite well. I'm seeing them Feb 1st in Bristol, can't wait. Solid live act! They're not at all 'highly regarded' in the UK Alt scene but I have a huge soft spot for them!
Deerhunter's new album is really gorgeous, and I also am enjoying the new Guster release. :P

I Heart California I assume? I liked it a lot. Oh man, would have loved to see that show in Vegas. My first Grandaddy show back in the day was my last Elliott Smith show. They're very different, but it made for a kickass night. I still have some free Grandaddy bottle openers from the merch stand.

Yup - I Heart California and more. Good stuff, and a great show. Was lucky enough to see Grandaddy with Earlimart opening back in 2012.
Apparently we're getting a new one from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I know I'm late, but I got so into him this year. Hope this new album brings a new tour.
First song off Isbell produced Josh Ritter rekkid. Tour also announced today.

The debut album by Better Oblivion Community Center ( Conor Oberst and Phobe Bridgers) is a masterpiece to my humble ears- I'm a huge Conor fan, and this is my favorite thing he has done in years. I'm loving every track!
Clark Jr, Steve Gunn, some others.

I haven't loved either of Gary's singles so far and the new stuff he premiered on his fall tour wasn't super great in my eyes. I've been a big fan of his for a while but I'm just not really feeling the excitement for this album like I did for the release of Sonny Boy Slim.

Do not miss Foals if you have a chance to see them. I have seen them several times, and they flat out rock. What do you think of the two singles they released? I think they are great songs and will be really outstanding live. They changed their sound a little, but it's still totally Foals. I'm looking forward to seeing them in April.

Seeing Foals in Bournemouth in June, can't wait! Tried my hardest to get tickets for their Concorde2 show in Brighton but it was impossible due to the website crashing/bots and I gave up trying to get resale tickets after coming across a few wannabe scammers online so Bournemouth it was! My favourite from the new album is Sunday, it blew my mind the first time I heard it!
Current favourite album is Lux Prima by Karen O and Dangermouse. Hands down the most mesmerising body of work I have heard in a long time! Start to finish beauty. I can't remember the last time I played an album start-finish so often.
need to check out that Karen O and Dangermouse collab.
I spent most of the weekend alternating between the new Vampire Weekend "Father of the Bride" and new Josh Ritter "Fever Breaks" and they are both great records. Listening to "Fever Breaks" again this morning.
I dig the new Felice Bros.
New Sturgill Simpson album just dropped, it's pretty rock and roll, half way through and i love it
New Michael Nau, Less Ready to Go. With Scott McMicken from Dr. Dog. and Seth Kauffman from Floating Action. All of Nau's albums are killer, including those from his Cotton Jones days.
Check out the 'Look Into Dance' track from the new one....

^ Yeah thought it was pretty solid. Produced by Scott, but seems like Seth's funky vibe crept in too. That one Cotton Jones LP with the colorful cover is great.
Some favs at the 3/4 pole:
