thank you for taping and sharing-- it sounds great!!!
Sweet! Nice to finally get our hands on one of these shows!
Thanks for the link John! 8-)
AWESOME!
thanks, ive really been wanting to go back to last night.
It is great, though I'm still downloading, so... Too bad we don't have the tapers and turnaround for T5, Portland, Essex Jct., Holyoke, etc. I'm happy for everyone who went last night. Thanks again to stober and whoever did the taping.
EDIT: it was upped by stober, so double thanks, my friend!
so i guess there are no recordings of T5? seems as though they wouldve surfaced by now.
genius, brilliant, wonderful. thanks JY,
downloading now. best show i've ever seen easily. amazing. thanks stober and jy for posting here

According to the comments section under the above link, someone did record Portland and will be upping it soon.
Many thanks to all you tapers :)

Good eye, Ruckus! Portland is coming! And, yes, many thanks to stober, BostonDPA4023, and all the tapers, plus MMJ and crew for letting it happen (at least most of the time).
This recording of last night's show is taking quite some time to download. If you can, keep it on to seed others. I will keep my torrent running overnight to help.
johnny, when i tried to DL the above link, it took one second and it was some icon i clicked on and basically nothing. what gives?
Well, I tried to delete this thread, as two more appeared and I hate redundancy. However, all it did was remove my first post of the thread, with the link to the torrent, so here it is again.

I should think, with three different threads, everyone knows last night's show was taped and is out there. Looks like it on archive.org, too.

Maybe it was while I was trying to delete this thread. JPV and the taper, stober, put up threads after this one, so that might explain it. The torrent took forever, so you might be better off going with the archive.org download link. Both should work.
disregard previous post....
i dont have a bt.etree account so it wouldnt let me DL it. duh

INTENSE Dondante
The final jam for Mahgeetah brought back fond fuzzy memories of MMW doing Bubblehouse way back in the day with the organ out front accelerating to a finish. Ha
Thanks for cleaning up the three parallel threads for the recording of this show, forum gods.
Jason posted a link to the mp3 version of this recording, for those who don't want or can't convert the FLAC format. Thanks, Jason!

I was busy yesterday and didn't really even pay attention to the tapings section thinking it would be a little bit before a taping surfaced...dang it I'm a day late. Downloading now and from what I've heard so far it's quite wonderful

^there used to be a pinned thread on the old forum called something like "How did you discover MMJ?", and it was full of amazing reads and various stories of how and when people discovered the band. Wonder if CC can bring that old thread back to this site with all the original posts. Would be awesome.
Quote from: Mr. White on Oct 29, 2019, 12:43 PMNine years ago tonight, I became a fan of My Morning Jacket!
I hadn't really heard too much about them, other than their name and seeing a poster or two at Ear-X-Tacy when I was there shopping for obscure stuff or more of my Classic Rock and/or new releases from my favorite bands from the past. When the hype started up for this show at the KFC Yum! Center (only the second show there with the first being the Eagles about a week before), PBS had re-broadcasted the 2008 show, and I had it recorded and watched it a couple of times. Then, they did the Terminal 5 shows in combination with their set at The Late Show with David Letterman (I've been a huge Letterman fan since the 1980s). Then ... I just happened to be staying in town late (Louisville) for an event at work. I decided that there would be enough time to travel downtown in time to catch MMJ (would have to miss the opening act), and it all depended on the handiness of parking and the availability of a ticket (I called before hand and found there were still tickets). I got very lucky and got a parking place almost right across the street from the venue (if it's free, it's me!). Went up the steps and was greeted by a fan needing to sell a General Admission ticket that they had extra. I got it, went to the floor while the lights were still up, settled in about 15 to 20 rows back dead center ... and became an instant super fan! I promptly went out and purchased some MMJ and have never looked back!
Nine years ago tonight!
Heck of a first show Mr.White.
We drove down from Jersey for it as I wanted to catch my first Jacket show in their hometown. We had a blast at a preshow get together across the street and then got to have our faces melted by a great show in that beautiful new building.
It was definitely a fun night and well worth the drive. I'd love to see them play the YUM again, and I'd be there for sure once again.

that was a cool thread indeed but I accidentally deleted that whole thread instead of just 1 spam message. so it's gone for good. sorry. i'm a lousy admin haha.
ha! no worries CC.
Mr. White what a way to get into them! Damn son!
My first was the SLC 2012 show. I had missed them once before and felt so cheated but oh my gawd...that night in 2012 was everything i needed.
Not only did it begin with EVIL URGES, an album & tour i was upset with the band for not coming to Utah during, so glad they used the EU opener into Off The Record like 2008
they played the longest Gideon I've ever heard anywhere, nearly 11 minutes with some outrageous soloing!
Gave me the breathtaking quadruple-threat of WAR BEGUN, EVELYN'S NOT REAL, LAY LOW, PHONE WENT WEST. I mean for a first show you could do way better as Mr. White did or anyone seeing Red Rocks 2012 for their first time (like having sex with Jessica Alba or Ryan Gosling for your first time), but look at this list and tell me that's not a damn good first show:
EVIL URGES
OFF THE RECORD
CIRCUITAL
THE WAY THAT HE SINGS
OUTTA MY SYSTEM
FIRST LIGHT
LAY LOW
HOLDIN ON TO BLACK METAL
PHONE WENT WEST (debut of transcendental jam)
GOLDEN
EVELYN IS NOT REAL
I'M AMAZED
WAR BEGUN
TOUCH ME II (with glowsticks flying above us all from the heavens)
MAHGEETAH
RUN THRU (INSAAAANE)
GIDEON (longest Gideon!)
----------------
VICTORY DANCE
WORDLESS CHORUS
OBH
(probably the most "Standardized" encore ever but for a 1st time, it's perfect. The Jacket did me so good..OBSESSED 4 EVER)
