Awesome!
I'm glad they chose one of those shows for this release.
I'd have preferred night one but not gonna complain about getting this show instead. It was a fantastic run of shows and they couldn't go wrong choosing any of the three nights.

It looks to be night 1...says 11/5/21 in the description, which was night 1.
I'm hoping the album is a mix of both nights, or else vol 1 and 2 will have a lot of repeats (victory dance, compound fracture, Dondante)

Night one was Nov.4th and the songs mentioned weren't played that night. Looks to me to definitely be night two of the run.
No biggie though, as I said they couldn't go wrong with any of the nights. I just liked the 4th a bit more.

you are right.
Yes my birthday show had an UNREAL SET LIST!!!
I hope this becomes a regular thing...and more frequent. MMJ started my vinyl craze back in the day, and I've peeled back on my purchasing habits over the past few years (kids!). At this point, MMJ is the only band where I never skip a vinyl release.

Right there with ya.
I'd love it if they ever did one of these for one of the shows during the NYC Beacon run but I'm thinking that might just be wishful thinking.
How long of a delay was there from the Volume 1 vinyl release, to it being released on apple/Spotify? I'm not a vinyl guy but I was at this show and am stoked to hear it!
Why dont they release more of their sbd's? Cant help like they are missing a big opportunity here.

Great question, wish I had the answer. I know I'd buy damn near every one if I could.
Sounds great to me! I was wondering when the next one was going to be!
Wonder what the tracklist will be. No way it will all fit on 3 LPS. Probably at LEAST 30 minutes too long.

They also better leave PWW on there.
Victory Dance and Compound Fracture are obvious choices since these versions don't add much from the versions on vol 1.
The version of Dondante would have to make the cut, but would it fit?

Easy pass. Such a shame they don't go to the vault more. Maybe there's not much there.

This is just a hunch I've had for a long time. I think the vault is very deep and I think they're playing the long game. Why release everything now when they can slowly release it over the next however many decades? Look at how often there's "new" releases from the Grateful Dead. Official releases of popular bootlegs and legendary shows, decades after the fact. They created something that has and will continue to outlive the band. Similarly, Neil Young still releases albums he recorded decades ago and shelved for whatever reason. I think MMJ is doing something similar. I wouldn't be surprised to see T5 or Beacon or Red Rocks boxsets in 20 or 30 years. Kind of supporting this theory, when Waterfall II came out, Jim said he thought at one time that it would have been cool to just let it sit and release it in 30 years or so.
Then again, maybe this is all just wishful thinking.
In 30 years I'll be 72. Let's hope they don't wait that long.
Yes, I can see why they'd wait some but I certainly hope they don't wait a really long time to release their gems!

That would've been badass if WF2 came out decades after the band broke up (if I lived that long). That being said, WF2 came out at the perfect time. We needed that album so much at that time. I just remember that time being so dark and the album provided me with something to be happy about. I think it is one of my favorites by the band now.
Anyway, back on topic. I'm fine with a live album once a year or so...better than what we've been getting the last decade. Would be cool to get some big release of a classic show down the road too.
About damn time we got a live version of PWW on wax!! Now do one of the super heavy Cobras from the last few yrs...

Great job on reconfiguring the track order to get the entire show on three slabs of vinyl!!
The 1st twelve tracks are in order before the fancy footwork begins on the last 8.

I hope if and when this does get a digital download release, the tracklist follows the flow of the show. I understand the limitations of vinyl, but those don't apply to digital files, so there's no need to muff up the actual setlist.
It looks like digital will be available on release day this time.

It *should* be downloadable / streamable tomorrow through Bandcamp. I say should because JJ's recent re-release of Regions wasn't downloadable for a couple of days on Bandcamp, not until I bugged them on Twitter about it. They had to reach out to the record label to get the files.

Gotta say....Rollin Back into Holdin on to black metal is one of the worst placements ever. Don't understand why that combination happened or why they sometimes try stuff THAT incompatible but it's because of Jim's crazy mind that we love and cherish.

I thought it was great placement... good juxtaposition of rocking and spacey songs
It's such a good Rollin Back. For me you gotta have something that doesn't cut through as much as HOTBM following. Like you could go from RB into Heartbreakjn Man or It Beats 4 U and that makes sense.
Doesn't here for me.
All in all, 9.9/10....also, wish they put these out on CD too.
I have both, gorgeous packaging, everything looks stupendous, but would rather buy the cds too for my driving excursions. But oh well, I just need a few blank CDs then
Crazy....this is the first time MMJ have released a live version of the celestial jam PWW Oŕ Rollin Back.

I really hope the band realizes how much we want one of the TTF shows released. The way they improved those songs live needs to be memorialized on vinyl.
Just today realising what a great show Chicago N2 was. Listened to it in full for the first time today and damn, the flow of it all. I usually jump between shows on Relisten creating my own "sets" so I've only ever bounced around these 3 shows.
It's funny because "on paper" I'd 100% choose nights 1/3 over this but holy s### they were on fire weren't they
How could you pick night 1 or 3 over 11/5/21??? Look at that set list. It's a dream set list for me. I've been fortunate enough to see 99.9% of those songs but never all in one go, and am still yet to see Rollin Back and If All Else Fails live.

It's splitting hairs as all three nights were fantastic but being there, night one was my favorite.
That said I bought the vinyl of 11/5 and have spun it many times already. No complaints from me no matter what night they chose and just glad they released one of 'em.
Now if we could only get the Cap theater TTF show from 19 for the next release it'd be another Live series Home Run.
I definitely would've preferred night 1
Having the sbd of the OBH TTF performance is good enough for me. It's as good or arguably even better than the Cap. I'd much rather see any number of other gigs get the nod.

That's why we're so fortunate not only for MMJ to play that album in full, but for them to release.the recordings. I'm a fan of the sparse lofi studio recording of the TTF but had always wondered what a current, full band rendition would sound like.
I have several friends who are huge Radiohead fans and we've had frequent late night discussions of what Pablo Honey would sound like live today.

Gotta disagree with ya here, I think the Cap show was way better. Longer jams and also the encore!
Capitol ttf show sounds like it was 100% one of those "something in the air" nights for the band. I feel like they started off with a bit more fire maybe with the OBH show, but Capitol definitely has stronger jams and the band overall sound tighter and the crowd sounds more "present". (I'm sure the soundboard OBH is great but the taping I've heard has a lot of crowd talking which always takes me out of it)

The crowd was filled with serious fans that knew the lyrics to the less popular songs too. It was quite a vibe and show. One of my favorite Jacket shows ever. The OBH soundboard is great, and I'm glad we have that. An official release of the PC TTF show would be awesome though.

Couldn't agree more with you guys and right there with both of you on this show. It's at the top of my Live Series wish list.
Would love a release of Red Rocks 2016 night 1. Would be worth it for that Picture of You alone.
Amen, blew me away
BONNAROOO 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cap TTF is easily one of their greatest shows...the jams are incendiary...with DEFINITIVE versions of IT'S ABOUT TWILIGHT NOW, OL' SEPTEMBER BLUES (the jam is one of my favorite MMJ things), IF ALL ELSE FAILS, WEEKS GO BY LIKE DAYS, etc upon etc, maybe not definitive but Excellent versions of PICTURES OF YOU, I THINK I'M GOING TO HELL etc.
That said, Terminal T5 TTF is amazing to get.
Just weird it was chosen over 2019 TTF.

Right there with ya my man on the Cap TTF show. It was amazing and right near the top of their shows I've seen.
I was fortunate to also see the whole T5 run and while I lean more towards the Cap show, the T5 show was great in its own right. It was an incredible vibe inside the venue and they blew me away that night.
Listening to the vinyl brings back a ton of great memories. It kicked off a fun week of forum pre show get togethers every night leading into one great show after another. I cherish those memories and friendships I made that week and still have to this day. Spinning this vinyl brings me right back to McGees Pub and T5.
While the Cap show would've been a great vinyl release, I'm hoping the T5 release opens the vault to the rest of that run.

If it can transport you, you still believe in music, you still pay attention to music, you still love it....man that's a rarity nowadays brother. These phones....I feel like they've ruined creativity and interaction with art.
But the best thing is, no matter what happens, hold on to the music, baby.
The encores were so juicy.
Im a big fan of the B sides and outtakes they did as encores especially WEEKS GO BY LIKE DAYS.
