Title: this may be old news, but...

What's the word on a new album? Seems like they've had plenty of time off. Shall be very interesting to see the 'new' band take shape in the studio.

I'm betting on a late spring/early summer release (unless the release is coordinated with Elizabethtown hitting theaters)

So does this meaning they have in fact been working on a new album, or just speculation? If not, any idea where they're recording or with whom? I hear the Above the Cadillac studios were dismantled but maybe I'm wrong.

It has been my impression that they're working on something.  Whether it's a tour or a record or what, who knows?

Also, I know NOTHING.  I'm just saying my impression.

I see. So maybe they've just been enjoyed some well-deserved vacation time. It would make sense to release an album when that movie comes out; the public response would be far greater than anything they've experienced so far...for better or worse.

I don't know the guys' habits well enough but I get the distinct impression that they work out new material while they're on the road and thus have a plethora to bring to the studio when they have time off to pursue recording.

I talked to Jim for an article in the Daily Nebraskan about the time the early recordings came out and he told me that they were working on writing and recording but wouldn't tell me an exact date.

So yes, they are recording, but when will it be done.  That I don't know

I wouldn't mind being a roadie for MMJ this summer...it'd beat working at the Asheville Country Club.

Nothing better than whole bunch of speculation....perhaps we should have a pool and guess the day of the new release.

I love every single person on this board.  I really do.  :)

I don't know about the month, but the day will be the 27th. If it's not, I simply can't be a fan of this band anymore.

Speaking of Solstice, what about the new album title being:

"The Summer of the Solstice" or

"Cirque de Solstice"

But do you really think that they would pass up the ENTIRE summer for a tour and only play one show at bonnaroo?  I think not...therefore, you can send me the $5 :)

How about "Peanut Butter and Panties" as the title for the next album?

When genius strikes you just have to seize the moment.  I'm not even sure what any of these threads are actually about anyway.
