MY MORNING JACKET        At Dawn & Tennessee Fire Demos        cd        $12.00
Darla

COMING 10/10/05
We will make this title available as soon as possible. The band wants to hold formal release of this one for just a little while longer. No worries tho' it won't be forever! When we originally released My Morning Jacket's epic At Dawn the first 2500 CD and 1000 LP came with a bonus demos disc, which was like another At Dawn in itself. This has long been out of print now and we frequently receive requests for it. The beloved demos disc will be available once again with the addition of seven choice demo versions from The Tennesee Fire sessions as well. Track list: 1. The Way That He Sings (demo version) 2. Hopefully (demo version) 3. Just Because I Do (demo version) 4. Bermuda Highway (demo version) 5. Lowdown (demo version) 6. Honest Man (demo version) 7. At Dawn (demo version) 8. I Needed It Most (demo version) 9. Lead Me Father (demo version) 10. Phone Went West (demo version) 11. Chills (demo version) 12. Just Because I Do (version 1) 13. Heartbreakin Man (version 1) 14. Evelyn (version 1) 15. The Bear (version 2) 16. If All Else Fails (version 1) 17. Picture Of You (version 1) 18. I Think I'm Going To Hell (version 1)

Geez,F/N October,WTF happened to April? Oh well,we have waited this long, whats a few more months.

Hmmmmm  maybe it means that they're waiting until the new record is released and the tour has started so that the big craziness and excitement of that - the reaching of more people, will make it do better...

I mean, that's good news, too.  That means there'll be a new record by October, I guess.  If my theory is correct, and it is, after all, only a theory...

 :)

I haven't even aquired the Early Recordings yet. They are nowhere to be found in record stores. Is it possible to order them off this site? I need to buy 'At Dawn' also.

I'm trying to soak in as much of T.T.F. as I can before I go any farther, I still find time to listen to I.S.M. though.

i got both early recordings from the darla site, no problems.. they were really nice and responsive to emails too.
At Dawn should be available through most stores.

See, that's when a little bit of "what the fuck is wrong with you" is required.  They're FROM Kentucky.  Am I right, Bowling Green is fairly close to Louisville?  Even if I'm wrong, relatively speaking, it's close enough that if you can't get At Dawn in ANY, and I do mean any, record store in Kentucky, that record store needs a talking to.

Perhaps they sell out, which is why it seems like they're sparse...  That must be it.

Thanks for the heads up on the dates for the demos. One complaint I have with Darla is that on the Early Recordings and Sandworm is that they charged a pre-order fee. They did not charge it with the demo preorder, thankfully.

And yeah, I know when I went to buy At Dawn in Chicago, I tried 3 or 4 different places. I finally ordered it from Darla. Even now  I look for it just to see if it's there and can never find it.

I always look when I go to stores to see what MMJ albums they have even though I have them all...it's usually only It Still Moves and Chocolate and Ice...

I'm sure all too soon every asshole will have them all and we'll have to hear how long everyones been listening to the Tennessee Fire, etc..

That's why Grimeys in Nashville is the best record store. It's very small, but they had everything that I was looking for when I went there a couple of weeks ago. I bought the early recordings (chapter 2) and they had all of the MMJ albums, including the Christmas EP and Chocolate & Ice.

It's about an 60 minutes from Nashville, and about 90 minutes from Louisville.

The bad thing about when MMJ plays in Nashville is the fact that Exit Inn is 18+ venue and I'm only 16.

Bonnaroo might be the only chance I get to see them for a long time!

I'm driving to Nashville this Friday, I'll have to check that out. Do they have a website or anything?

So, my wife is sick of hearing about this, so I needed to tell some folks who could fully appreciate my good fortune. I stayed home from work yesterday with a cold, but I started getting the cabin fever. I decided to go visit the local record store (Decatur CD - Decatur, GA), which, by the way, is one of the best music stores ever. Well, while going through the new arrival section, I see a used copy of At Dawn for $14. Now, this strikes me as odd, as the owner, Warren, is known for giving good deals. $14 dollars for a used copy could only mean one thing...but I dared not get my hopes up. Well, upon futher inspection and nearly passing out, my suspicions were confirmed and I now own the At Dawn double disc. Life is good for the time being, my friends.

Are you talking the old one or the rerelease?

Either way, R.O.C.K.

It is one of the originals...The owner of the store is a former warner bros exec & people bring him in boxes of used stuff. I'm guessing someone just didn't realize what it was. Now for Heartbreakin' Man...

Thank you...Thank you very much. I knew I could count you folks to understand my joy. Now, the double disc - 2500 of the original pressings came with a demo cd, which, as you folks know, will be rereleased soon along with the Tennessee Fire demos (which I am eagerly awaiting). Sweet, sweet!!!

OLWIGGUM..hey Grimey's is one cool record store. Its a house in a street ...crazy. Me and my travelling companions ended up in there last January when we visted Nashville. We were on a week long road trip (we are from England)went to see MMJ in Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta with Patrick Park and the Thrills. Patrick was doing an instore appearance at Grimeys and we tagged a long to see him ..even got some of his performance on my camcorder. We then went to see him play at the 3rd and Linsey that night, before departing to Graceland in Memphis...it was one fantastic trip....and your right we have some quality record stores in England but Grimeys was well and truly stocked and the staff had a vast knowledge of English bands.
