Gotta love Patrick!!!!! You can't beat his enthusiasm. He nearly died of dehydration at the Exit/In show in Nashville 2004, all because he was relentlessly beating the shit out of his drum kit. Plus he lets us know when someone ::) starts rumors about shows that don't really exist. Not to mention he's down with the bow. You go Pete!!!!!!!

I love this one. I think my favorite is the one that you have as your avatar though. Those 2 shots just scream "ROCK!!!!!".
I made a high contrast pic with the shot from above that I want to put on a t-shirt one day. I need a fatboy size and can't find one anywhere, so I'm just gonna make my own.
:)

YES!!!!!!! Congratulations to whoever took this picture (it says blender, is that a magazine?) you took one truly amazing photograph. Really, this picture says it all, it couldn't be any better. Nice work Blender!!!!!!!!
Yeah, that is quite possibly one of the best rock shots EVER!
Jim and his bird. Pure joy.

That reminds me, Jim and his bird, with full pirate regalia.

mmm...I was just looking through the Bonnaroo pictures of the ones where you could tell it was about to rain, and I had a flash memory of what rain smells like in the south in the summer. Such an awesomely eerie feeling, remembering a smell like that. Damn, I'm going to Bonnaroo this year.
Anyways, here's a couple of my faves.

Great rockin' picture indeed!

What the hell happened to Danny's face there?
I love these highly psychedelic ones:

Man, Riny. That picture made me chilly. It also made me have a weird little vision of the future with my teenager asking me if I went to the legendary Bonaroo where it rained on My Morning Jacket. And I'll say, "No, but your Uncle Matt went." And they'll suddenly think he's totally the shit. And then the kid's gonna listen to MMJ like I used to listen to my parents records. And they'll get mad at me for not being cool enough to get the special At Dawn with the extra disc, etc.
weirdio.
These are too fucking cool!
I love taking all this cool stuff in...I am so new to the band but feel like thier biggest fan!
How do you post a pic? I tried the help thing but could not find any useful info there! Thanks!!
When you hit "reply" and the little box pops up for you to enter your text, hit the 4th button from the left that is right above the little smileys. It should say "insert image". Something like this should appear: (//URL)
Find the image that you want to post and copy the URL where it says URL.
Hope that helps.

Yup that Johnny ;)
Thanks for your help! I love this photo :)

I like my avatar obviously (2003, Headliners show). I also really like this one. I think it is the perfect visual equivalent of the band's spirit:
And, by the way, what's up everyone? I've been away for a while, it's good to be back.
Hey Boar!
That's a nice one. It reminds me of Riny's colourplay up on the banner up there...
I like this one:

It's so great that you can see the elastic band on his wrist. When it's on there, you know the rock is going to be.
Also, there's something special going on with his hair - it reminds me of a camp fire after the logs aren't flaming anymore, you know when those bits of light go up and down. Am I making sense?

I love that T-shirt but I don't think I would have went with that particular vest with it.

Ha ha ha! I was just about to post about how much I like the vest. A lot, in fact. (I know that you weren't saying you don't like the vest. Who wouldn't like that vest? It's a great vest.)
:)
This one too:

Exactly, the vest would have been HOT by itself!!!
Yeah, but rock is about saying "I don't give a fuck", and going nuts with that. Right?
(Think of Keith in the early 70s. I know it's a little different, but...)
Also, where in Birmingham is there a beach setting like that one?
That's not the BHam shirt, is it? I thought the BHAM shirt had the steel mills on it. I could be wrong.
Damn, I feel like a nerd.
:)

You are not a nerd. At least not in a bad way. :)
And you're also right:

(Check out the two little ghosty figures having a chat on one of the stickers.)
Also, just noticed that Jim puts his elastic on his wrist, too. :)
On closer inspection the shirt does say "Somebody in Birmingham Loves Me"

Yikes! Confusion! Sorry, antoniostrohs - I had thought that this shirt:
was the Birmingham one. But it isn't. I think it says California. :)

edit: yep, you're dead!
What in the hell kind of navigational nightmare have you created with your dinosaur-sized mega poster that totally fucks all other pictures out of the water?
I had to save it just to look at it normally.
Woah. I really like it. They all look so GOOD!
When is that from, fanatic?
I believe its from the same photo shoot that has the palm trees in the background and a very Jimmy Buffet-like feel to the setting

Isn't it fucking great?
So I've skipping around, kind of researching record labels, and I guess I never went the the MMJ section at ATO. And you all probably have, but for those who haven't, there are some really great pictures of the boys up there. (No photo credit that I could see, though. I hate that.)
Oh yeah, here's the link: http://www.atorecords.com/ You have to click it and move around a bit.
Ha ha ha! I loved that one, too. Wasn't someone around here talking about Jim's ass recently? There's one fer ya! ;) Spotlight and everything.

go patrick go
He looks so happy to be bringing the ROCK to us. I love this one.
Look at him! He looks like Jesus - Bringer of the Rock to the People.
More of a sexier Jesus, though...
(Sorry boys. :))
Hey! I was just on Willy Mason's site, and there was a link to his photographer, so I checked her out because she's really lovely. And lo and behold, I found a picture of Jim. And it's really, really nice. But you can't save it, so here's the link:
http://www.emilywilsonphotography.com/portraitindex.html
and I think he's in the third row from the bottom. :)
Wow, that's such a cool pic! I wish I had a picture like that taken of me. He looks extraordinarily Jewish, don't you think?
:o

I can't believe they got thier picture taken at Olen Mills with a Pony. That's Hot.

What's up with the "Tiger Army" album there? Anyone ever listen to them? They're sort of alright. Like early Danzig, or rockabilly Misfits.
Wow, that last post makes absolutely no sense without the reference of the photograph. Ho-hum, guess you'll just have to look up the original "O" post.
On a completely different note, I think MMJ Fanatic's photograph of MMJ on the pink house porch is my personal favorite.
ooooh. after signing the confidentiality clause i cant really show the pictures. besides that they may be illegal in at least 8 states. alabama of course being one of them.

They're givin' it hell in this one. I'd hate to be those instruments at that moment.
This one is a few years old that I took at a bar in Nashville that I can't seem to remember. It wasn't Exit Inn and it was the first time I saw Bobby Bare Jr who opened the show.Still a pretty cool shot that brings back fond memories of Johnny and Jim jamming.
heh "FREE PACO" :)
That's a nice one, antoniostrohs.
There's a new sheriff in town! (http://img91.echo.cx/img91/2848/jimjames10qs.jpg)
Wow. That's great. Why haven't we seen that before?
To tell the truth just recently learn how to post photos. That one was in downtown Louisville Waterfront concert from a couple summers ago.The boys all came out wearing funny hats.
Not exactly a band picture but still a pretty cool shot of Patrick.

that one is my current screen saver.
I love those black and white shots. Heard they are more expensive to develop though, is that true?
Quick story about that shot. That's Two Tone with his back to the camera. He'd just gotten caught up in the moment, smashed his bass against the floor, sat down on one of the monitors, rolled a smoke and watched Johnny and Jim stomp out another great Jacket stinger. Jacketeered indeed!

if you take them to wolf, yeah. if you do them yourself (easy, i promise) it's cheaper than color.
If you do it in photoshop, it's free! ;)

i'll cling to my silver prints like the luddite that i am. i went digital for a year and came back.

(I actually like using film cameras and having actual prints that aren't digital, too. But if you're doing internet-y design stuff, digital images, and the time you save with all that, for me, is awesome.)
??? dont know how :(
