Golden is mine.
Ooooh, difficult one. Different songs for different moods. It would have to be Phone Went West. Or The Way That He Sings. Or Hopefully. Oh dear, and that's just one album. Too hard ::)
(I thought yours was Run Thru, dith! ÊThat's the one that I always associate with you.)
I don't know if I can play this game, either. For a looooong time it was Golden. And then Bermuda Highway. Lately it's been Mahgeetah and Run Thru.
Yeah. Can't pick. One? That's insane.
Oh yeah, that one as well. Mainly because I'm often found saying Oh shit, run ;)
Is that because you find yourself in the ghetto quite frequently? :)
More like up shit creak ;)
As of right now I think "Steam Engine" is my favorite song they've done. The last verse might be the most vivid and beautiful picture ever painted in my head by a song.

(shakey knees kills me. man.)
I'm a sucker for sooner...it just puts me in a good mood. Lowdown would be another.
i will sing you songs.. or lowdown.. or run thru.. or one big holiday just because i get all pumped up at the beginning part.. bermuda highway has been my ringtone for a long while now.. really like that one too..
..shit, you know, what kind of question is this to ask a bunch of mmj junkies? my mind just went through mental gymnastics trying to answer this question.
Ditto exactly what sweatboard said about Steam Engine ...
I really like One Big Holiday and Come Closer too though...
Toss up between "death is the easy/sleazy way," "strangulation," or "old september blues."
Steam Engine, most definitely.
Although so many others are amazing. One Big Holiday was the first song of theirs I heard. Amazing.
All are amazing to me...
Quote"death is the easy/sleazy way"
I will ONLY hear that from now on. (Which is rather awesome.) :D
oh man it's a toughy...
at dawn was my first mmj album, and i really latched on to "the way that he sings" right away...still one of my favorites
although i definitely also love "if all else fails" and "steam engine" (seeing this at the return to thunderdome show was life changing)
can't pick a definite favorite, but those three are some of the top ones
I Think I'm Going To Hell is really growing on me, especially the 'devils and demons are coming' part.
For favorite song, maybe Steam Engine?
My five in no particular order
The Bear
Bermuda Highway
Lowdown
I Will Sing You Songs
At Dawn
Nashville to Kentucky
One in the same
I think im going to hell.(the guitar FX are unbelievable in that song!)

My favorite is "I Think I'm Going to Hell" but not because of the guitar effects. My favorite version of the song is the solo acoustic one from the "This is Not America" documentary.
One in the Same, with Bermuda Highway following in a close second. I'm into hauntingly beautiful, and these both do it for me.. In a big way...
I have to say that I'm very surprised to see "One in the Same" up here. I like almost everything the band does but that one is one of my least favorites.
While I'm at it I've got to throw some love towards "War Begun"
Hard to say, right now it's Steam engine.... But also The Dark, and I think I'm going to hell and the cover they did on White Rabbit (I can go on forever)

word. and word.
not to knock anybody's taste. It's funny how different songs speak to different folks.
Damn, this is a tough one! I would have to go with "I Will Sing You Songs" and "Run Thru" are about an even tie. However, if I am ever lucky enough to hear "Honest Man" live at a show, it may climb waaayy up there as well!

You're the second person to say they wanted to hear "Honest Man" live recently. It'd be great to hear it again, but it just wouldn't be the same without Mr. Johnny Quaid. The duel guitar solos at the end are evidence that they have been playing together since they picked up their instruments. I don't know if the new lineup could do it justice.

I wasn't lucky enough to here Quaid live (first show was 06-04 Roxy, Atlanta). I like Carl, and he's an amazing all around instumentalist. This tour, he's really taken over lead for the most part, but I will have to say that I REAALLLY miss seeing/hearing Jim rock out on the solos live.
QuoteGolden is mine.
did you happen to look over "tennessee fire" or "at dawn" maybe.....
Neil, can you stop being a major pain in the ass. All of your recent posts are really annoying and immature. You got to go!
Impossible to name one, I just made my friend a cd of my fave MMJ songs (quite a few were left off, he can find em himself)
At Dawn
Lowdown
The Way That He Sings
Bermuda Highway
How do you Know?
Come Closer
Evelyn
Helmet
Mahgeetah
Golden
I Will Sing You Songs
Rollin Back
Steam Engine
One in the Same
Strangulation is my favorite song, mainly because of the intense start to the song followed by the mellow part where Jim sings "Strangulation, I don't wanna feel a thing."
close seconds are One In The Same, Honest Man, If It Smashes Down, Run Thru, They Ran, Xmas Curtain, Hopefully, Golden, alot more....
i think its At Dawn
Mahgeetah!!!!!!!!!
hm...i´d say "one in the same"
