Title: Way around copy-protection?
Post by: mieler17 on Oct 04, 2005, 11:21 AM
Can anyone personally verify that there is a way around the copy-protection on Z?

Secondly, how?  Is it as easy as holding down the shift key when you insert the cd to disable autorun?

I would really like to put it on my iPod.

Thanks a bunch!

itunes automatically loads cds when i put it in, even copy protected. i have yet to try it with Z because i am at work and don't have itunes.

on the Z screen that comes up when you place the cd in, there is a copy to computer button.  from there i think you can load it to itunes.

ok kiddos when i bought in your honor by the foo fighters i had the same problem so i looked up on the foo fighters message board and got the info as to how to disable this annoying feature...now i don't know if this sunncomm software is the same thing that's going to be used on the new mmj but it's a good read about the BS that copy protection is pulling on us...sorry i was so late in getting this info to you guys, i'll try to be quicker next time

also i know for a fact that holding the shift key will disable autorunning the copy protection softwar that starts when you insert a new disc, and this is another link to help you diable that

these methods work, and if you're semi-familiar with computers it's fairly easy to put them to work, i did it for the latest FF album and it's on my ipod just fine

Indeed the shift holding the shift key down does keep the program from coming up but the CD will not play in Windows media or Real player.

i held down the shift key as well so the autorun would not pop up but i still cannot upload it to my computer, itunes or media player. this sucks! also i tried to upload the songs from the cd's menu where it says "copy to pc" and that doesn't work either.

i should have just bought the songs off of itunes directly instead of buying the actual cd. this is bs.

any suggestions?

had you already accepted the EULA aggreement before trying the shift method or was this the first time u inserted the disc into your computer? if you already accepted the EULA you will need to uninstall the sunncomm software that it installed is my best guess
