Anyone else here put this connection together, Seems like Jim may have been tippin' his hat to old Elton here on this one. Check it out if you haven't compared the two. It is amazing to me that one could create a song that is so original and unique but at he same time be so connected with a song from the past. Was this a conscious choice or mere coincidence? What are your thoughts.
How ever it came to be I love it. Thanks MMJ
p.s. I have an extra Okonokos poster and some stickers for anyone who would like it. Let me know

I'm interested in the poster.
My wife always says that the very last "yeah-uh, yeah-uh, yeah-uh" is a lot like "Benny, Benny, Benny".

oki, I will.
hope it's coming to the right e-mail now then...
I remember bringing this up way back in the day, somewhere here... I think the Benny and the Jets thing is totally intentional - and it kicks ultimate ass.
i encourage everyone to play the tunes back to back. there are more similarities than just the falsetto vocals. maybe when elton does one of those cheesy duo records that everbody does Jim and Elton can sing a tune together. HA!

agreed. it does kick ass that jim sneaks a little throwback in the end of such an already awesome song.
ah, the drums. while definitely different, carry that similar feel.
