:) :)
Also has panic doing Chest Fever. Two of my favorite bands on a tribute disc to probably my all time favorite band.

Thanks, nice find again!
This looks like an absolutely awesome record :D
I keep listening to the MMJ cut over and over and over. I will fight the urge to sneak this thing onto my ipod.
MMJ's track is the best I've heard so far. The worst: The Allman Brothers Band - one of my all-time favorites, but unfortunately Gregg kinda butchers the vocal on The Night They Drove ol Dixie Down. Warren and Derek keep that band worth hearing, but Gregg is sometimes painful to listen to. Chest Fever is a great tune for Widespread Panic, but I wasn't all that impressed - guess I need to hear it from a good source before I pass too much judgement.

Sounds like the Allman track is the only live one on the CD so Gregg gets a bit of a break for the vocal. I like the GOVT MULE Shape I'm In!
Mule just doesn't put enough bite in that song for my tastes. I am just spoiled by the Dylan/Band live version from the Before the Flood live album. And Jack Johnson makes me want to choke him everytime I hear him do ANYTHING.
I agree, bermuda, you do get a pass on live performances. I've seen the ABB several times and it's hit and miss with Gregg's vocal. Most recent was at red rocks a few weeks ago, and he was great then, so you never know. It really makes you appreciate MMJ that much more, cuz even if Jim's voice may be a little rough sometimes, he always gives you an intense, energetic performance. I guess Gregg's got about 30 years' more legend on Jim tho, so he can do what he wants. ;)
A little disappointed in the Mule too - it's the uptempo in the original tune that makes it so cool, considering its downbeat subject, and Mule seems to just bring it back to earth and let it sit there.
i really hope jack johnson didn't butcher the classic he's doing on here.. !!!!
thanks for the link. I have a copy of when PJ/MMJ covered the song on tour. The studio version sounds excellent.
DAMNIT IT JUST SAYS LOADING FOR ME AND NO SONG!!!
Does anyone know who produced MMJ's track? Just curious if they used a producer or if Jim did it. It sounds great.

I am afraid to even give that one a listen.
