Title: War Begun (What version was getting fluffed?)
Post by: JamJimes on Oct 16, 2006, 08:35 PM
Saw someone last week talking about a great version of this song we needed to hear. Anyone remember the date? I have been looking around but can't find the thread. ???

The austin youtube video is a great version.  I still can't get over how good the sound is on those videos.  I wish I could rip that to disc somehow.

Yeah it's possible to record tunes from youtube.  Just download and install Replay Music (http://www.download.com/Replay-Music/3000-2168_4-10280521.html) where you get a 25 track trial before you have to pay $40 for the full version.

Or you can get a pretty good recorder/music manipulator for free by by downloding Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows) and it's various codecs, etc.

Or here's Austin's War Begun:
http://download.yousendit.com/44FF5F4E4F377D09

I think there are a few downloads left on it...

Plus go here for the rest of the tracks from that show:

Don't get me wrong.  I totally apreciate those songs more than you know.  But the sound is not very good at all.  Did you use those programs you are talking about to get those from the youtube videos?  Maybe I am crazy but it just didn' t translate very well.  Again, don't get me wrong, I applaud the effort, the audio on the youtube is just sooooo good, I was hoping to get the equivelent on disc.

Well I was just using the demo version of Replay for the first few songs, and Audacity on the last few (although in Audacity I was playing around with the levels to save as much memory as possible...which resulted in less than steller results on a few songs. Sorry.  :( )

You can try any of these other programs yourself to see what results you can make:

If you do come up with some good recordings, be sure to post!  :)
