Title: MMJamming

For all you musicians out there......
What's your favorite Jacket song to jam to?
(Personally, I like Run Thru, OBH, and Lay Low, among others....)

Lay Low for ill.

One Big Holiday is cool, but you really need more than a guitar and a drummer for that (which is what most of my jams consist of).

And yes, Run Thru is simply badassical.

The end jam from Off The Record is beautiful.

The ones that always seem to get played are:
Picture of You  (the outro jam with the bass makes it)
One Big Holiday (the old standby)
Magheeta (still need to figue out the outro but it's still fun as hell to play)

and then there's:
The Bear
Heartbreakin Man
Gideon
Anytime
It's About Twilight
I Won't Cry
and so on...

Last summer, I ran up the 'times played' for one big holiday on itunes to 274.

I'd just sit there and play carl/johnny's part to it...over...and over.  and it never got old.

Still love lay low for sure, and the slide part to sooner.

It's pretty simple, really.

During the chorus...high E string...

10-12    17-15-13-15  10-12

Hope that makes sense, I'm no good at tabbing. :-/

Speaking of MMJ guitar playing, I would like to see more of them in such magazines like GuitarONE. Some MMJ tabs or maybe an interview with the band would be so awesome. Just because they don't solo at 8943 bpm doesn't mean they don't have kick ass guitart parts.

I don't jam to any MMJ tune. I find the guitar parts epic in that it's hard to change them to suit jamming/improv needs. MMJ are not a jam band but certainly improvise at times, so I rarely if ever have the desire to play one of their tunes when I jam.

Steam Engine's always a good one. I love playing along to Strangulation, as well.
