I always thought this line:
The architect designed the ceiling
was...
"The evidence is on the ceiling."
Any other funny ones out there? I thought there was a thread with this content but I couldn't find it. Sorry if this has been hashed out before.
haha even though i have said this before....i cant help but say it again.....
Closing line of Wonderful man......
"A bitch to suck your nuts"
we still havent found out what it is yet...so that could be Right!
First couple of times I heard OBH, before I looked up the lyrics, I heard this:
"Was a black man from...California....telling others don't eat meat...."
Sooner:
"Sooner or later I'll come to see you / feel your back on the edge of town"
Actually, I still don't know what he says right there...
i pretty much make up half the words to songs. i've even looked them up, seen that i was wrong, and not changed.
easy morning rebel - well he can run treble
i know. i didn't even look at the title of the song for like a year.
don't even talk to me about the way that he sings.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with Sooner confusion.
I considered it a disability for a while.
Money
Ho's
and Diamond Rings
i mishear a bunch of them.. .let me think and get back to you on that jacketgirl! :)
You never let me sleep.
(Dondante) Kinda scary for a ghost to do.
What are they saying at the beginning of The Way That he Sings?
I always just sing: "Tho he done run, run, tho he done run"
These are all awesome. Although "a bitch to suck your nuts" had me rolling!
hehehe!
in Run Thru i always used to think he sang "Oh she runs.."
Off the Record:
"In a crowded room with a box of poop."
I mean, what the hell is a box of boom anyway?

Lloyd Dobbler! An iconic box of boom if ever there was. Thanks. That totally made me happy.
as for the closing line of wonderful man......
i can't imagine it's "A bitch to suck your nuts" but that is funny.
i used to think it was "a bitchin' succubus", but my latest theory is "a beast to suck your blood."
there will be bigger trees and there will be open [pit] mines
QuoteSooner:
"Sooner or later I'll come to see you / feel your back on the edge of town"
Actually, I still don't know what he says right there...
Sooner or later they'll come to see you
feel your power in the yellow sun...
that's how I hear it.
For a long time, I thought it was
sooner or later i'll come to see you, feed you pie in the early sun.
QuoteSooner:

I think it's "feel your power in the yellow sun"
Lyrics sound more clear on acoustic citsusca

Beat me to it
I thought it was "early" sun.
QuoteI thought it was "early" sun.
me, too.
Old September Blues:
"Never were a drawback, you always were an Asshat."
I knew he was saying asset, but it kind of sounds like Asshat and it's fun to imagine it that way!
i thought i was early sun as well.
QuoteI thought it was "early" sun.
i always thought it was "on the other side".
also, riny, the lloyd d. also made me happeeeee. :)
I was listening to Magheetah this morning...I could've sworn I heard "I've been waiting on the booty, I've been waiting so long" LOL I had to check the lyrics, and sure enough, its "I've been waiting on the BOAT HERE, I've been waiting so long" lol it would've been funnier if I was right! ;D
QuoteOff the Record:
"In a crowded room with a box of poop."
I mean, what the hell is a box of boom anyway?
One of my friends girlfriends thought is was -
"In a crowded room near the box of poop..."
and that's how I sing it every time now.
I think Sooner is
Sooner or later I'll come to see you, feel your power in the early sun
"if your polly wog can feel it!"
What about the backing vocals in the bridge/build-up of Steam Engine? I'm hearing "We got 'em, we got 'em"
Anyone help me out?
off the record:"push yourself too far and i might get hard."
Quoteoff the record:"push yourself too far and i might get hard."
Good point.
Something I'm clearly mishearing is at the end of What A Wonderful Man:
"A bitch to suck your mum...YAAAHHH!!"
What is Jim singing there? I've never seen it printed anywhere. In the second chorus I don't think he says "sensible man" either, it sounds more like "sensuous man" or some made up word like "situous".
"The day I found out his cause" also sounds like "the devil and his cause" to me.
Not MMJ nor misheard, but in the Pearl Jam song "Given to Fly" there is the following line...
A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw
Delivered him wings, "Hey, look at me now"
Beautiful imagery, but that "delivered him wings" bit always plants the picture of a delivery guy walking to someones fron door with an order of deep fried buffalo chicken. Surely not Mr. Vedder's intention.

First off, this thread is awesome.
In this part of Steam, my girlfriends friend always sings "Bikini Bottom, Bikini Bottom". Which has ruined it for me!
In OBH, I used to think it was "tellin of the STORM he'd being". Which I actually like better.
The Wonderful Man one has always been a mystery. As well as the beginning of the way that he sings.
YA GTF - one of my favorite PJ songs will now always make me want buffalo chicken. Ha.

I can get behind Kenny Loggins.

My favorit ethereal vocal is the end of Steam Engine when the voices are chanting "Kenny Loggins".

Agreed. ;)
"Sometimes, I wonder why I meet GaGa on the plane. Maybe I'm to blame for this short, bitter, fucked-up life." Though I know the actual words, since lady gaga has become something, I heard this once, and now, this is what I hear every time.
From What a Wonderful Man, I've always heard, "a beast and succubus(sp?)"
In that song "highly suspicious", I could swear they say "peanut butter pudding' surprise" over and over...oh wait...they do. ??? JK, I love
it live and hope they play it on Dec 1!! ;D
In "by my car" I always do a double take when I hear the line "I'll kick his head in". That is also the correct lyric, but Yim doesn't write too many randomly violent lyrics like that. Does anybody know the story behind the song?
Does it count if I misread the Misheard Jacket thread and thought it said "Michael Jackson lyrics"?!? :P
